Now fully at Live TV pace.

Will it be a traitor in the kitchen with a poisoned chalice?

Diane made a good point on Uncloaked, she said that Ross was used to seeing his actor family members dying in bizarre ways, so it wasn't as shocking for him as it could have been for others.
His brother, sister and brother-in-law are all actors

I think the problem is that last year it started to eat Wilf up that he was a Traitor and potentially going to win a lot of money through those means. So Paul, I wonder if some of his crying/shaking is legit?
Or is he just brutal? 😅

I think he's just brutal. And a cock. He is enjoying it far too much.

SlightlyJaded · 18/01/2024 10:29

@Nesbi Agree that the word 'poisoned' was directional.

Also agree that some jeopardy for the Traitors would have been really compelling - especially if they had ended up murdering 'one of their own'.

Fingers crossed for a Zach or Jaz recruitment tonight. I think that will spell the end for Smuggy McCrocodile.

Nesbi · 18/01/2024 10:29

I think Harry is enjoying it, although perhaps you could say that whilst Paul is embracing and hamming up the role of pantomime villain, Harry is going about killing in a pretty ruthless professional way!

Two different approaches, possibly slightly reflecting their lives and experiences outside of Traitors 🤔

WriterOfWrongs · 18/01/2024 10:31

I feel for Paul a bit here with people thinking he’s a cock etc.

He’s playing an edited TV game in a role he wanted to do. He’s unlikely to be repeatedly in his confessionals that he really hates it BUT even if he did, production aren’t going to show us that.

They’ll be asking him in his confessionals questions like how did you act in the coffin to throw people off the scent. They may be leading him to react certain ways.

Point is, he may well be a cock. But he’s doing what he was contracted to do. And unlike Wilf, Paul hasn’t yet got to the point in the game where he truly has to betray and be brutal. (I think Wilf didn’t show a great side to him in his reactions.)

Agreed re "cock" - it's like Strictly etc too, so many extreme reactions to people who are simply on a light-entertainment TV show

Anisette · 18/01/2024 08:49

No, it was Christian in the US one who claimed that the traitors had tried to recruit him unsuccessfully. It was an idiot move, not only because the other traitors were pissed off, and he couldn't produce the letter so it was a pretty obvious lie.

Thanks @Anisette !

Confused him with Angus from Australia s1 in my head.

CaveMum · 18/01/2024 10:41

It was interesting listening to Diane talk a bit about the application process - she wasn't allowed to tell anyone bar the bare minimum where she was going when she went to film the show. She left her phone with her husband (they weren't allowed to take phones with them) to answer and one of her sons only found out what she had done when the Traitors promo picture was released and someone spotted Diane in the background!

I also laughed at her explaining how her husband found out she had applied - she was on the phone to a producer/casting person in the living room of their house and her husband had to go outside to move her car to let a builders van in. Her phone connected to the car's bluetooth and her husband heard several minutes of the call!

Figgygal · 18/01/2024 10:42

I was hoping they'd not want to split the prize money and not recruit another traitor. Paul is cooked Harry should win hes played a blinder!!

shearwater2 · 18/01/2024 10:49

I love that Paul and Harry are just seeing it for what it is, a game. Harry is playing it better just now, Paul overplayed his hand yesterday. Wilf did that eventually too.

Riverlee · 18/01/2024 10:50

I don’t want Zack or Jaz recruited as they’re the only ones playing a good detection game. Don’t want them banished or murdered either. Like others have said, I want Harry, Zack or Haz to win as they are the ones who are playing the game best.

shearwater2 · 18/01/2024 10:50

And I absolutely loved yesterdays' episode, and Uncloaked. Absolutely top entertainment.

It would be wrong to murder a traitor, though. The fact they can't be killed is a key clue to who they are.

Osteospermum · 18/01/2024 10:58

I can’t remember all the questions but in the cold light of day, hopefully they will all do a bit of analysis to recall that Paul was in the dungeon, never had a shield (?), was in the final 3 coffins, voted for Ash and Miles so could be a traitor. But easy for me to say.

I wonder if they will make another season but switch up the format to keep traitors hidden from watching audience but allowing them to vote based on contestant round table discussions. A bit like judges on Strictly but reversal of audience voting for banishment rather than their favourites. Though having written this down, I’m now thinking it’s so deliciously juicy because we know who the traitors are, seeing the game play out. Voting would make it like all other TV shows so maybe keep as is.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 18/01/2024 11:00

I have mentioned this on here before but the Aus series 2 is a masterclass in traitorous behaviour right to the end. It's eyewateringly brutal and brilliant in equal measure. One to get your fix after this one is over. (I had no discipline and watched it all over 2 days at the weekend!)

I definitely noticed Paul's shoulders dropped in the turret last night. He was actually looking to Harry more for his opinion rather than trying to be in complete control. He may put on a good act, but he's definitely feeling vulnerable atm

SpttyMaldoon · 18/01/2024 11:01

@Riverlee , i think people are mistaking her self confidence with cleverness.

Let’s remember that they’ve only caught a traitor because the other traitors betrayed him, not through any clever reasoning amongst the faithfuls.

SpttyMaldoon · 18/01/2024 11:03

@lemonsaretheonlyfruit and the NZ version is a masterclass in faithfuls behaviour, i so enjoyed that one.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 18/01/2024 11:07

@SpttyMaldoon oh I must watch! Thanks.

SpttyMaldoon · 18/01/2024 11:12

I would love Ross to be recruited because it adds another dimension to the game.

firstly, it would introduce the element that us viewers know something that the traitors don’t know.

and also, there would be the personal motivation that Ross would have to crush the traitors in order to avenge his mum, especially Paul.

Ross could reveal to some faithfuls that Diane was his mum, and we know these faithfuls would never believe that he would have betrayed his mum, so that could take him far in the game.

the only problem if he does that, is that someone like Charlotte might run to tell Paul and spoil Ross’ plans.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 18/01/2024 11:13

I thought last night was brilliant entertainment. I was a bit shocked too by the funeral carriage but I love how camp it all is.

though did anyone else find it really brutal when Claudia slammed the coffin lid shut on Diane? I really hope she gave her a hug afterwards!

Twoshoesnewshoes · 18/01/2024 11:14

I wonder if Ross would refuse the offer if recruited? Cos, like, they killed him mum.

JaneJeffer · 18/01/2024 11:15

I laughed Grin

Embarrassed to admit this but the slamming of the coffin lid made me go all weird and emotional 😂

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 18/01/2024 11:28

You are right.. whoever mentioned this -Charlotte does seem to have disappeared. If she was a blonde I don't think she would stand out any more than the rest of the blonde crew are at the moment. I know it's down to editing, but the way it's being shown at the moment - they seem like a homogeneous mass of females having absolutely no impact.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 18/01/2024 11:28

Much as I hate to acknowledge this
