Yes surely Anthony will still go for Dianne?
I did feel sorry for Ash then. I don't think she was expecting the others to be sticking each other up so early.
I thought Harry would be the most nervous at the beginning but as he says, at this stage he's 'playing a blinder' and comes across as the most natural at the moment.

I think Paul will become too prominent at some point. He's made no secret of the fact that he would sell his granny to win this and he's already one of the biggest names (and obviously the most popular)

Totally agree with whoever said that newest Traitor's approach won't last long 'I mean I'm completely oblivious to who it might be' - he needs sone acting lessons from Paul and Harry!

AngelicaSchuylerAndHerSisters · 04/01/2024 23:55

I think Ash goes because the bearded traitor was in a VT saying she hasn’t been a good traitor. It seemed quite smug.

BeaLola · 05/01/2024 00:06

I have watched all 3 but didn't see series 1.

Soooo hoping Ash will ho as found her very tedious and obvious.

Can I ask - and obv series 2 may ho differently - but does it keep on with one banishment and one killed until literally just one winner or do more tactical elements come in .

I was wtf Brian was that about but then he nominated Paul for no earthly reason but was so right.

HangingOnJustAbout · 05/01/2024 00:08

Just finished bingeing it.

Definitely hooked but I struggle at the beginning when there are so many of them, often think one person is two and vice versa (this happens in real life too!).

I wish we could see some more random chat, you don't see enough to really know how people are reacting. I'm amazed all the ones going for the shields are getting away with it but not many seem to care.

I do think the logic of the program doesn't hold up well. Loads of them said they wanted to be traitors but they're chosen at random so it's nothing to do with character. And there is little reason to give themselves away if they've half a brain. I think they should have tasks to accomplish in full view of the others, or have to agree who to murder without doing it in private. Something that'd make them look suspicious.

TheMadGardener · 05/01/2024 00:14

I loved series 1 apart from the ending which felt really manipulated to unmask Wilf ("Are you sure you've got rid of all the Traitors?" "Yes, definitely", "Are you really really sure?" "Er - yes?" "No, but are you really, really, really sure?" "Er - no?") Claudia might just as well have told them straight out there was still a Traitor there, it was such a fix. I hope a Traitor wins this one, it would be more fun. Or at least don't fix the ending so obviously.

Lots of reaction on Twitter/X as Diane is the mother of actor Kerr Logan (Game of Thrones, Strike etc) who is doing lots of tweeting about her being on.

Oh? I thought the initial Traitors were hand picked by the producers, according to their individual qualities? Did I imagine that?

No i don’t think you imagined that. Claudia was interviewing people individually asking if they wanted to be a traitor and asking them why they thought they’d be a good one before she did the shoulder tapping thing. So I’m sure the producers pick who they think would be good.

NonPlayerCharacter · 05/01/2024 07:59

It's not random, the producers and Claudia decide. Claudia said last time that they chose the people who seemed to want it the most. And apparently there was someone they really wanted to choose but that person was clear that they wanted to be a Faithful.

Figgygal · 05/01/2024 08:01

I hope Ash stays for the carnage and Diane goes I cannot stand her!!!

StrangeNew · 05/01/2024 08:19

Tbh I assumed Claudia’s ‘interviews’ were just for show, and that the real decisions would have been taken before they started filming.

Quite probable but they’ll have been asked similar stuff before arrival.

Desolatewardrobe · 05/01/2024 10:12

BlinkAndYouWillMissIt · 04/01/2024 23:14

I'm certain Ash goes. At the beginning of the third episode on the iplayer, there's a preview which shows one contestant (female in a denim shirt) gasping and saying "I would never have guessed her." This is at the round table. I don't understand how it made it through editing because it's not actually shown in the episode.

We also spotted that but it feels like a massive spoiler for them to have included if it refers to Ash so I wonder if it’s misdirection? It’s been shown at the start of all the episodes so far I think.

The traitors need to get rid of Ash now so many people suspect her as there’ll be too much attention on her if she doesn’t get banished and it leaves them vulnerable if her interactions with them look suspicious. I reckon. They only start chopping the ones that challenge them towards the end - at this stage it’s best to keep the good ones to remain undetected.

NonPlayerCharacter · 05/01/2024 10:27

Ash did seem very upset during the cutaway talk-to-the-camera scene. But like the Traitors, we don't know whether the producers have accidentally given clues or are just messing with us! After all, she'd be upset whatever the outcome.

StrangeNew · 05/01/2024 10:39

It will be much more exciting if she doesn’t go - and Paul and Harry are stuck with her. Grin How on earth would they row back on sticking a knife in her back??

florentina1 · 05/01/2024 12:24

If Ash does go, I don’t think they will recruit another traitor straight away. They will wait until there are just two left. it will also depend how far into the series they get when the next traitor goes.

i can’t stand Diane, she makes her attacks too personal. The thing that strikes me most about the banishment is that people pick on behaviour that they think is ‘traitoresque’. I would banish the person who utterly convinced me that they were a faithful assuming they were playing a good game.

herewegoroundtheblueberrybush · 05/01/2024 18:01

Can someone explain the benefit of Harry and Paul trying to get rid of ash? Because if she's a crao traitor she would have eventually got banished anyway and I don't think she would have implicated them. This way, they've made an enemy of her if she does stay.

StrangeNew · 05/01/2024 18:14

They gambled on the evidence they had at that point - with so many people voting against her, anyone who didn’t (without a strong counter argument) would have their motives and affiliations questioned. IIRC the swift ‘eyebrow flick’ calculation was that if they both voted against her there was a fair chance she’d be out. (And they’d have blended safely into the majority.) Only the succeeding voters didn’t entirely fall into line.

We’ll just have to wait and see if their gamble paid off!

In the meantime I may have to watch the Ep3 voting again …

A traitor who gets into the firing line on the second round table is playing badly and is a complete liability. And as a PP said, with several people voting for her, it might look suss if they don't and she gets banished and unmasked. They may have thought more people were going to vote for her than actually did and if they were right, it would definitely be safer to go with the majority.

Being seen to have correctly voted out a traitor "means" they can't themselves be traitors

I know!!

I hope she goes. From the very first moment shr appeared on screen I thought she make a terrible traitor

MotherofGorgons · 05/01/2024 19:14

Ash was really crap at traitoring, but I hope she stays to make things tough for Paul and Harry. They could have got nosy Diane out instead.

I love Paul in general though! I like that he is revelling in it instead of being all fake sad.

I wish they had picked one of the quiet mousy young girls to be a
traitor. Mollie or Meg or Evie. They have picked all big personalities.

Laughed so much at Ross sitting next to Diane and saying his mum's roast is rubbish.

herewegoroundtheblueberrybush · 05/01/2024 19:22

Thank you all for the explanation - I get it now!!

BobGalaxy · 05/01/2024 19:46

Imagine if they did select Diane as the 4th traitor - she would have been in direct opposition to Ross. That would be some next level triple bluffery trying to prevent him from being the traitors next victim in order to preserve your own chances of getting the winnings.

That would have been amazing!
