I always hate it when good radio presenters migrate (like the rich elderly to The Laurels in ‘The Archers’) to Radio Two, because then they’re lost to me, as I find it unlistenable to. So if she’s leaving the station it’s all to the good and I might hear her somewhere else. (Please God, not a podcast!)

florentina1 · 12/01/2024 12:23

I am having more fun watching these threads than the series. Does anyone else think it is a bit dull this year

Yes.

It’s too focused on a couple of characters (well, Paul mainly) - I have no idea who most of them even are

NonPlayerCharacter · 12/01/2024 12:49

It's not as good as last time, so far, although I'm still hooked. I'm so frustrated that they're not properly questioning why Paul wasn't murdered.

I think the shields in the armoury were rigged at least some of the time last year and I wonder if they should do that again, just to keep the show exciting and keep the interesting people (or at least those whose continued presence makes the show interesting) on for a bit longer.

IGotItFromAgnes · 12/01/2024 12:53

I don’t know if this is just an impression, but it definitely feels like we’re not getting to see as much of the chat between contestants as we did last time. Other than Diane and Ross - but even that secret doesn’t seem to be going anywhere at the moment

bananamangoes · 12/01/2024 21:16

Anyone else find the challenges to dull to watch?

I tend to skip those bits.

bananamangoes · 12/01/2024 21:17

*totally dull!

CormorantStrikesBack · 12/01/2024 22:02

I like Diane, I assume she’s gone as they were definitely targeting her with the chalice. What happens though if at the last second she doesn’t drink from it?

It's whoever's lips touch it first. So if she passed it to someone else at the last moment, it's them. And if nobody's lips touch it, no murder.

Can I ask if Miles accidentally took a sip before handing it to Diane, he himself could be killed off. Now that would be a twist

Jenasaurus · 12/01/2024 22:30

Anyone else watching just the banishments and murders and forwarding the rest this year? Its not quite as good as series 1. I found Wilfred very entertaining and even now chat with him on Instagram. He always replies and seems a nice man. (although a mischief maker as a traitor, but thats the game)

Claudia said it was the first Faithful’s lips to touch it that would be murdered

Ahh ok. Just a thought if he had left the chalice by the wine and Diane poured it herself would that also count.

I would assume so. Actually that’s what I would have been inclined to do if I was a traitor, but maybe they were told they couldn’t.

TheMadGardener · 13/01/2024 00:16

I was wondering if the Traitors had failed because the clock had already struck, apparently, before Diane took the chalice, so surely they were out of time? (Hope so as I like Diane!)
Jaz is this year's Maddy - he knows it's Paul but no one will listen to him...

HoHoHoliday · 13/01/2024 00:50

Tonight's challenge would have been so much more exciting if the rules had been set as if the traitor's fail to murder a faithful then one of the traitors will be evicted instead.

BlinkAndYouWillMissIt · 13/01/2024 00:55

I really wanted it to live up to the first series but it's just a bit of a flop for me. Series 1 had the secret couple and the one who proclaimed herself an actress because she had played a woman without a womb, it was comedy gold. This year just falls flat in comparison. There were characters I loved and ones I loved to hate. This year I hardly know any of their names, we are halfway through and very little has happened, if anything to be honest. It's all boring and predictable. There's no wilf or big come back like the chaps who were sent away in episode 1. I knew they wouldnt do that scenario again but what have they done that's replaced it? I also don't know who I'm rooting for, I've not warmed to any of them, probably because we've not seen much of them. There's no excitement for the next episode.

StrangeNew · 13/01/2024 06:57

I much prefer this year - though it’s a sad reflection on British society that the natural reflex of the group is to banish anyone with a brain …

It is beginning to look as if a clever individual could never win this game, because they’ll always be excluded by their fellows at the earliest opportunity. Unless they get to be a Traitor.

The current three are all more or less worryingly brilliant at it.

I wish The Traitors Uncloaked could be slightly less bland. They seem to think expressing themselves purely through swearing and grinning constitutes entertainment - I’d prefer some actual illumination and analysis.

NonPlayerCharacter · 13/01/2024 07:42

Jenasaurus · 12/01/2024 22:27

It would be unfair, though. The traitors can't be killed - that's one way you can try to figure out who they are.

And why it's so frustrating that they've dropped the "why wasn't Paul murdered" question. It's your biggest clue!!!

herewegoroundtheblueberrybush · 13/01/2024 11:38

I hate it when I'm enjoying a series and then I come on here and find lots of people saying how rubbish it is 😂 it really brings me down! I know people are allowed to express an opinion and I am also allowed to not look in the threads!!

NewYearNewYak · 13/01/2024 11:46

I don’t think Diane is going. They haven’t really done anything with the mother/son storyline. I think they’d have done more with it in the edit if she was about to leave.

FarleyHatcherEsq · 13/01/2024 12:07

@NewYearNewYak do you think she didn't drink it on time?
If Miles fumbling around cost them the chance to off another faithful, and given he was a bit lazy in the challenge, I predict Harry and Paul will turn on him next. Then try to enlist Jas (to save Paul) then turn on Harry. Then ultimately Paul and Jas will battle it out!

Me too @herewegoroundtheblueberrybush ✋
I'm really enjoying it!!

StrangeNew · 13/01/2024 12:12

The ending was odd … Diane was looking Miles directly in the eye as she reached for the cursed vessel - as if she guessed something significant might be happening.

Maybe she didn’t drink it!

NewYearNewYak · 13/01/2024 12:17

I don’t think she drinks it. She doesn’t look to me like somebody who puts just anything into her mouth. She’s very thin and probably very controlled about what she eats/drinks.
