I thought the same about the sonographer. Such a scientific job and such a bat shit bonkers hobby

Theatrefan12 · 04/01/2024 19:21

On the second episode now and Diane is seriously irritating me. She reminds me of Maddie from last year who I really didn’t like at all, even though most people did

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 04/01/2024 20:23

Have caught up now. Ash overplayed her hand, she didn't blend in. Paul is smug and revels in it so much he seems a bit mad.

Was Maddie the blond one that kept picking Wilf? She was really irritating

NonPlayerCharacter · 04/01/2024 20:32

Paul was voted most popular in the group though, so he obviously comes across differently to them.

StrangeNew · 04/01/2024 20:34

Gosh, Harry and Paul took an epic step! Fabulous TV seeing people taking such a huge, spontaneous but calculated risk. It will be carnage if Ash isn’t booted out.

Poor Brian! Grin I guess sometimes you really cannot predict how you’ll respond under pressure. Quite how he’s managed to make himself look so guilty is a mystery.

So far I’m enjoying this more than S1. The people are - better. Jonny seems particularly gorgeous. Claudia’s clothes are even more intriguing.

(It’s not Big Brother, but it’ll do.)

BillStickersIsInnocent · 04/01/2024 20:46

Yes I wasn’t quite sure what happened with Brian. He seemed to get super annoyed to be called a sheep, and then waffled on in the round table, then accurately voted to banish a traitor, but was there more to it than that? Claudia at one point when he was speaking looked really annoyed.

herewegoroundtheblueberrybush · 04/01/2024 21:10

Hate that we have to wait until Wednesday for this!

Wtf is going on with Brian, I'll be fascinated to read the post-show interviews. Why was he so bothered to be called a sheep? Chill out! I also thought he was about to vote for himself, that would have been hilarious.

Hope ash is out because she's not very good but also in because then havoc.

I absolutely spotted Diane and Ross's resemblance. Really interesting that mum vibes were picked up on even if incorrect son.

Paul is hilarious and very into himself but to be fair is playing really well. I think miles needs to watch out with his "I don't know who it is at all" schtick, I think it's transparent.

lol at the sonographer not needing equipment 😅

It's so interesting tactically. You have to be good but not too good. Loyal but not too loyal. Vocal but not too vocal. Guess the traitors but not guess them in case they get you back. Nightmare.

IGotItFromAgnes · 04/01/2024 21:13

I think if I was a Faithful I would want to keep anyone who was an obvious Traitor in for now. Because then you know who to keep an eye on and vote out when the numbers are getting to the stage it actually matters.

StrangeNew · 04/01/2024 21:16

As I watched all the versions last year (Aus / US) my recollection is hazy, but didn’t traitors generally vote out fellow traitors who they thought were a threat, not because the traitor was doing such a poor job of treachery that they’d soon draw attention to the others?

herewegoroundtheblueberrybush · 04/01/2024 21:29

Yeah the Aus version was absolutely brutal. I don't think I can see Brits acting like that so much. I think people generally want to be loyal at least at first.

Didn’t someone throw Amanda under the bus last UK series or am I misremembering?

herewegoroundtheblueberrybush · 04/01/2024 21:34

They did but it was quite late on in the game

Stowickthevast · 04/01/2024 21:40

I think there is always a stage where the writing is in the wall for one traitor or another and then, as a traitor, you have to betray them to look like a convincing faithful.

But they weren't at that stage tonight and if Paul & Harry had voted for either Brian or Diane, Ash wouldn't have had enough votes. She'd probably still get banished pretty quickly though.

Wilf did it to both Alyssa and Amanda. Alyssa was sort of understandable because she was playing badly, under suspicion and he might have given himself away by going against the tide. But he just gunned for Amanda and actively set wheels in motion against her. He said he didn't trust her but I think he just wanted the whole prize pot.

There was a funny bit where a traitor was banished and it was all set up for this tense, emotional, climactic moment, and then he just went, "Yah, I'm a traitor, nice one mates!" and they all laughed and thumbed up as he bowed and scampered out.

Very Aussie.

thegruffalosmaw · 04/01/2024 21:53

The Aussie one had a great ending. That poor older man was so clueless. His whole face dropped!

I hated that ending. I know it's contrived but the endless recruiting was so artificial and it was rigged so that the last two people from the final three didn't have a hope. I also disliked the fact that the winning traitor hadn't been in very long.

Tbh, the British one was the only one that satisfied me.

Goatymum · 04/01/2024 22:08

Noooo!!!
I can’t believe we have to wait until next week now. Shit is gonna hit the fan if Ash doesn’t go! I said to dh, before Paul voted ‘sometimes traitors vote for each other….’ and I wasn’t wrong 😑

PandaG · 04/01/2024 22:32

Binged it. Can't wait until next Weds - hooked already. Still so many contestants it feels as though we have hardly seen, but I am hoping Diane goes the distance

CormorantStrikesBack · 04/01/2024 23:07

I always think if I was playing I’d rather be a traitor but actually I think if you can avoid being murdered you have more chance at the end of winning. Because the traitors do turn on each other.

BlinkAndYouWillMissIt · 04/01/2024 23:14

I'm certain Ash goes. At the beginning of the third episode on the iplayer, there's a preview which shows one contestant (female in a denim shirt) gasping and saying "I would never have guessed her." This is at the round table. I don't understand how it made it through editing because it's not actually shown in the episode.

StrangeNew · 04/01/2024 23:26

Ah … I was trying to discern who went from next week’s trailer.

BlinkAndYouWillMissIt · 04/01/2024 23:35

It's not in the trailer, it's in the recap at the beginning. I've currently got it on pause, it's around 35 seconds into episode 3.

StrangeNew · 04/01/2024 23:51

Yes, I understood you!
