Diane again - I couldn't be traitor. You get chosen, you don't volunteer!

Although when they show them chatting to Claudia some did want to be Faithful (and I think they showed a clip of Diane saying that so maybe that's what she meant).

NonPlayerCharacter · 04/01/2024 08:10

In the last series, someone (Amos, I think) wanted to be Faithful because he was a doctor in real life and didn't want patients to think he was untrustworthy.

Some people want to be Faithful because they like the idea of hunting the hunter. They all say they're brilliant at spotting liars etc...Well, while Traitors can certainly turn on each other, that's the sort of thing that's more important for a Faithful.

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 04/01/2024 08:18

And aargh that cliffhanger! Can see Anthony voting for any of them and whichever way it goes I think traitors' relationship from this point is going to be interesting, how Miles responds, less trust between them all etc

NonPlayerCharacter · 04/01/2024 00:21

Smugbeard said they shared a look.

Ooh I missed that somehow. Thanks. Probably wise of them to vote for her - now they've been seen to vote for someone who turns out to be a traitor [if and when she goes]

Also now we have traitors who know they can't possibly trust each other, which makes for an interesting dynamic.

IGotItFromAgnes · 04/01/2024 11:44

It’s a difficult call for the Traitors.

If they think everyone else is going to vote for one Traitor, they almost have to follow suit or risk being banished as the outlier vote will be noticed.

I think Paul and Harry called it wrong on this one as the votes were more evenly split, but they may have thought it was going to be less split as Brian so obviously isn’t a Traitor. But it could have gone the other way and then Miles would have been left exposed as the person who didn’t vote for Ash.

thegruffalosmaw · 04/01/2024 12:42

I dont think Ash will go, and then all hell will break loose.
If she does go, then there's a missed opportunity for it to get REALLY interesting.

Would be so satisfying though, and they might be allowed to recruit again, which would be fun. I don't find Ash very interesting to watch, tbh.

mrstea301 · 04/01/2024 14:27

That was interesting - looking forward to seeing the traitors tower discussion if Ash isn't ultimately banished.

Brian tho - I was surprised he didn't vote for himself in the end! He just crumbled to pieces!

IGotItFromAgnes · 04/01/2024 14:41

I think if Ash goes they should recruit Brian - would buy the others a bit of time!

Though it wouldn’t surprise me if Brian quit anyway if he isn’t banished.

thegruffalosmaw · 04/01/2024 14:50

when are the next iplayer episodes?

BillStickersIsInnocent · 04/01/2024 15:33

I’m interested in logistics (haven’t watched before but am hooked).

Do they all get landrovered back to a local hotel and then the traitors are smuggled back out and driven back to the castle? What’s to stop the faithful leaving their rooms in the evening?

TyneTeas · 04/01/2024 15:40

2 and 3 are on TV tonight and tomorrow

It looks like they will do the same next week, broadcast over three nights but put them all up on iPlayer on Wednesday

They don't actually sleep in the castle although it's shot to look as if they do. They're kept very separate.

Where do the contestants sleep on The Traitors?

The Traitors is back to consume our lives and once again fans have a lot of questions about the series, including where the contestants sleep.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 04/01/2024 15:55

Thanks @NonPlayerCharacter that’s really interesting. So they all get driven off individually to individual lodgings which means the traitors can be driven off and loop back later without anyone seeing. I had this idea they’d all be holed up in a hotel getting drunk together in the evenings!

In the morning they arrive in threes into the breakfast room so I wonder if they all arrive separately and then are organised outside into groups for maximum dramatic effect.

Anyway I’m loving it!

CormorantStrikesBack · 04/01/2024 15:55

How many of them are there? The castle is quite isolated, I was Actually on google maps earlier trying to work out how many b&bs there are in the vicinity because Claudia said they’re all in separate ones so they can’t talk off camera. I feel sorry for the traitors, having to be driven to a b&b, then back to the castle, more filming, then back to the b&b. They must be knackered. If I was a faithful I’d be looking for the most knackered.

IGotItFromAgnes · 04/01/2024 16:01

I wonder if the traitors just get driven round the block and then traitor’s tower has a different entrance

22 to start with. And apparently they all stay in the Inverness airport hotel! But they must still be kept very separate. Wouldn't surprise me if they're all pretty sleep deprived, they are on The Apprentice.

I thought it was the US ones that were at the airport hotel?

I assumed the logistics would be the same for both, but I could be wrong.

CormorantStrikesBack · 04/01/2024 16:25

Thanks for that, they made it sound like they were in separate (from each other) accommodation but maybe she meant separate from the castle. I probably misunderstood but you’d hope they’d not be plotting off camera. I’d be spying out the window to see who comes back really late!

NonPlayerCharacter · 04/01/2024 16:28

Ah, Claudia says they're all kept in separate places... I don't know. I'm sure they've thought it all through to make sure they can't cheat. I love the show but I wouldn't want to be one of the producers!

Claudia Winkleman has revealed exactly how the traitors and faithfuls are kept apart

It's all very dramatic

Stowickthevast · 04/01/2024 17:02

I'm not sure if it's the same in the UK, but one of the NZ contestants was talking about how you're basically confined to your room with nothing to do - no phone or TV - for vast amounts of time. So the only relationships they build between each other is what we see on camera (although obviously they don't use all footage).

Stowickthevast · 04/01/2024 17:14

I felt sorry for Ash although I do think she changed her behaviour from the first day. I think Anthony will vote for Diane and there'll be a tiebreak between Ash and Brian which will be decided by chance, Claudia said I think. I'd like Ash to win just to see Paul & Harry squirm. Apparently they both have previous media experience. So far Miles is the only traitor I'd like to succeed.

In the long run, Ash probably can't survive more than a day or two even if she survives this vote.

The clairvoyant was hilariously useless when she was telling Anthony's fortune: "Something happened in your childhood which has influenced who you are today"..... but she did spot Ash.

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/01/2024 18:01

I thought it was hilarious that the "clairvoyant" is a sonographer. Presumably she doesn't bother with all that equipment, she just knows!

BillStickersIsInnocent · 04/01/2024 18:05

@BoreOfWhabylon that made me giggle too.
