I agree that Zack is in real trouble. Particularly as he’s led a charge against Paul.

I also have never seen Evie before or heard her name. In the words of the ever-mighty Nikki Grahame, who IS she?

Ash tried to deflect attention from Paul and hopefully that will be remembered. Why on earth would a Traitor try to deflect attention from a fellow player when under attack if not because they are also a Traitor? Otherwise you’d seize the chance to turn the group against them.

CaveMum · 10/01/2024 22:50

Ash has just said on Uncloaked that her thinking was that she still wanted the Traitors to win, even if she wasn’t there anymore.

ParsnipAndPoppy · 10/01/2024 22:50

Did anyone notice Miles saying “love you ash” at the end and looking very disappointed? I thought that was really suspicious, he’s also overplaying the “I’ve just no idea about anything” card, although I do like him. Agree Zach in trouble now, obv Meg will be murdered but Paul also in trouble.

Another one who thinks Paul is a smug ego, can’t stand him.

Borris · 10/01/2024 22:53

I think Paul's tears were a little bit genuine as he's so devastated that he wasn't the favourite and saved by the others

Yeah, she really was pants at tactical thinking!

CaveMum · 10/01/2024 22:54

The Paul thing could go either way - the Faithful may be too blinded by the fact they managed to banish Ash, as I said up thread most of them think there are 3 traitors and they didn’t seem to consider that 2 of the 3 would go in the dungeon.

Likewise they might ask the question as to why Paul wasn’t murdered. He’ll have to play it carefully if questioned and go with “they’re trying to confuse us by switching between strong and quiet characters and throw us off the scent.”

It’ll be interesting to see how he walks into breakfast tomorrow. Obviously he’s walking in knowing full well Meg is gone, so he’s got to look sheepish and play the “I thought I was a goner” card without overdoing it.

periodiclabel · 10/01/2024 22:54

Paul definitely really taken her back by that turn of events! It means Andrew should be safe for quite a whilenow. Happily the heat is also now off Diane for the foreseeable because we don’t want to lose her!

lljkk · 10/01/2024 22:54

Traitors tend to take out strong leaders to cause disarray & undermine morale.
Why take out quiet unpopular Meg who can easily get herself banished, & leave over-confident very popular Paul?

Ross will smell a rat & convince Diane.

IGotItFromAgnes · 10/01/2024 22:57

Andrew’s also worked out that there are more than three Traitors.

They’d probably be smart to try and recruit him, if they’re allowed.

AnImaginaryCat · 10/01/2024 22:57

I'm annoyed with Ash because she didn't flip Paul's comments about a traitor would have a game plan on him. She really should have said "a game plan like deflecting from yourself by making out I'm a traitor and was acting suspicious in the dungeon?" Then also vote for him.

I didn't mind Paul up to now - but he was gunning for Ash horribly wasn't he. Also he's completely over excited about how popular and marvelous he is. Much dislike for him formed from me tonight.

Any luck then Miles and Harry will turn on him because he's not trustworthy. (Ignoring the fact Harry showed himself (to Miles) that he isn't either.)

I'm wondering if it got cut there because Ash drops Paul in it. Something like "im a traitor - as you knew Paul". I know they took a oath but she's out, so what's she got to lose?

crumpet · 10/01/2024 23:00

IGotItFromAgnes · 10/01/2024 21:46

Is Paul actually a psychopath?

Or just enjoying the fact that this is a game and not real life?

Although it was amusing to see him so taken aback when he wasn’t as popular as he thought

WoolyMammoth55 · 09/01/2024 21:38

I was wondering about the massive scars at the back of his head but he's first alphabetically so it jumped out from this page:
https://www.bbc.com/mediacentre/mediapacks/the-traitors-series-2-contestants
which I haven't read all of! x

I love how great they (almost all) think themselves to be at spotting lies & deception. Except Jaz. I'm rooting for him now.

Jellykat · 10/01/2024 23:01

Did anyone else notice how pissed off Paul looked, when they were told Andrew had been picked to be saved?
Not being Mr popular was probably why he started getting upset, nowt to do with his son at all!

AnImaginaryCat · 10/01/2024 23:02

FeedMeSantiago · 10/01/2024 22:45

Ash really missed an opportunity to vote for Paul and to go for him at the round table.

When she says she's a traitor, I'd love it if she said something like '"I'm sorry, Meg".

Meg is doomed to be murdered as Andrew is safe and Paul can't be murdered as a traitor. Paul's survival may direct suspicion towards him. Especially if Ash has given a subtle hint to imply Meg's murder was a foregone conclusion.

Gutted Meg wasn't banished, it would have been glorious TV. The traitors were foolish to put two traitors in the dungeon. I loved Paul's reaction to be Andrew being saved by the others and not him. Served him right.

Oh yes, "I'm sorry Meg" would be a much better parting comment.

Thedrownedprophet · 10/01/2024 23:04

Re Diane and Ross. Her other son had the same accent as her, but Ross's accent is English. He must be just doing an accent for the Traitors.

MadeOfAllWork · 10/01/2024 23:09

Did anyone else find that Jaz’s mannerisms reminded them of Mr Swallow?

I'll miss Paul when he goes. Harry is struggling to be ruthless & Miles still believes in loyalty (sucker!) but being ruthless comes naturally to Paul.

IGotItFromAgnes · 10/01/2024 23:13

I’ve just realised that Paul looks like a really evil teacher I had back in primary school.

Knew there was a good reason for my dislike!

Theydontknowaboutus · 10/01/2024 23:14

Andrew said something like 'I know 100% Paul isn't a traitor'. You would think after last year, contestants would realise you just can't know this - you should trust no-one.

I have a completely different accent from either of my parents and from my siblings due to moving around a lot and going to different schools. And I noticed that on the BBC website both of them say their location is Lancashire when patently she isn't originally from there.

AnImaginaryCat · 10/01/2024 23:23

I was thinking that. Though I suppose all of them (bar Jaz) think they are geniuses at spotting liars, when in reality.

Paul's crocodile tears over his son (that were really because he's not as popular as he was sure he was) make me worry he'll go down the Wilf route of demented hysteria anytime anyone even looks at him crossways.

He'll probably be mad to get rid of Zach now. Really attempt to turn the group on him. Which might raise suspicious.

WriterOfWrongs · 10/01/2024 23:41

I was just wondering, what if Diane is a Mumsnetter? 👀

Oh I reckon that Andrew has twigged that he 100% is. But it would be somewhat counter-productive to let a traitor know that, wouldn't it? So what better than to make the traitor think that he has a gullible ally? You don't murder your allies, do you?

WriterOfWrongs · 10/01/2024 23:56

Yes the way to play it if you twig who a traitor is, is to keep them close as a friend or at least ally. Don’t tell people you suspect them. Try and ride it out to the end and then turn on them.

Trouble is, you might then have to either play the gullible fool, or look like a traitor yourself.

I wonder how the production team decided which ones to choose as traitors...
