Paul. Managing out poorly performing traitors. Knobhead.

But as Claudia says...what's the show called?

It's not his actions. It's the vocabulary.

He's angling for a career in panto season.

periodiclabel · 05/01/2024 22:16

I love Paul, he is playing the game as it should be played, he’s just camping up all the evil stuff

I’m pretty sure Brian will be off having totally dog his own grave – I said at the beginning of the episode there are some we never see, they’re playing the clever game and pointed him and the other sheep out as two examples

Ash is going to be incandescent and Miles not too pleased either

i’ve started turning down all invitations for Wednesdays Thursdays and Fridays in January – really annoyed about the nights when Im going to have to go out

TitsInAbsentia · 05/01/2024 22:19

I was listening to the shrine podcast for ep 1 earlier and reminded that when Paul and Harry were first in the tower they were both 'yay it's you I'm so happy' etc and then when Ash came in....tumbleweed....so I'm not surprised they'd both go that way with the vote.

I didn't watch S1 of the UK traitors (I know...) but have watched Aus and NZ...have we had anyone lie about what they do for a living and not say they are lying? I don't think Paul is a telesales bloke or whatever he said.

I am now logged in to play along and casting my predictions!

crabbyoldbat · 05/01/2024 22:23

Brian? Never saw him before. I understand he was a bit miffed being voted the sheep, but after that I found his every move suspicious. It seemed a lot like bad acting - wonder if there's something more to him?

After all - spend two days saying and doing nothing of note, following the crowd, then realise you've been noticed - as someone trying to fly under the radar - it could make you crack up, but not that badly, surely? On the other hand, if you're meant to be a mole of some sort (or whatever), you've really blown it, and really, really need to stay in, then you might get a bit frantic.

I might be overthinking this.

CaveMum · 05/01/2024 22:30

@TitsInAbsentia i seem to recall there was a lady last year who lied, or at least omitted to tell, about the fact she’d done work as an actress. As soon as people found out they were questioning whether she was using her acting skills to deceive them all.

Riverlee · 05/01/2024 22:31

I’m curious to who they will murder tonight. Votes we’re going all over the place.

if Ash goes, I’d murder Tracey as she was the one who led the anti-Ash campaign.

if Ash stays, not so sure. Diane is too obvious and she’s gunning for Anthony so a useful deflection. Not Tracey, as it then could look like they’re protecting Ash. People are turning against Zack, and think he’s a traitor, so not Zack. Same reason to keep Brian in. In fact, maybe no one who got a vote as they’ve all been targeted as potential traitors.

crabbyoldbat · 05/01/2024 22:32

have we had anyone lie about what they do for a living and not say they are lying?

yes there was a woman in the first series who lied - think she said she did a job she'd done in the past - because she was an actress, and didn't think it would go down well.

I remember her. She kept saying she’d been in Eastenders. However it was one episode I beleive!

Borris · 05/01/2024 22:39

Do we have to wait for Wednesday now! The suspense!!

Romeiswheretheheartis · 05/01/2024 22:40

Anthony voted for Zack first time round, I've just rewound and watched it back. I remember not being surprised he'd not voted for Diane, as he'd seemed like he wanted to defuse her negativity towards him. Wonder what he'll do now....

Creepedmeout · 05/01/2024 22:50

They only showed clips of Ash reflecting on all the votes mounting up, and she seemed almost tearful, so I think it’s got to be her leaving.

You could also know Harry was going to throw her under the bus because ahead of the round table there was a very targeted snip of him saying he’d do whatever he needed to do to keep the traitors strong.

Creepedmeout · 05/01/2024 22:56

@Riverlee That was ‘I fink it’s Wiiiilff’ and she was right!

shearwater2 · 05/01/2024 22:58

Aargh, what a cliffhanger. The traitors had to vote for Ash the second time as she has not performed well as a traitor.

lto2019 · 05/01/2024 23:00

"To a PP who asked a few pages back - yes, the traitors absolutely did have to swear to keep the identity of ALL the traitors a secret for the entire duration of the show in series 1. But that sore loser Kieron broke the rules by blatantly giving Will away (AFTER he himself had been banished) and causing the most stupid ending imaginable. The three most clueless contestants won the prize when Will obviously should have won. It still rattles me, that does!"
It was me who asked - I was fuming about Keiron - he as good as said Wilf was a traitor. I had wondered if they had bought the pledge in as a result of that - I didn't mind the ones who won but they didn't really deserve to.

shearwater2 · 05/01/2024 23:01

Wilf lost it the round table after though with the "I'm not a traitor, honest mate" defence.

CaveMum · 05/01/2024 23:07

Just for those that have watched “Uncloaked”, there is additional material on the podcast so make sure you listen to that too.

Twonewcats · 05/01/2024 23:09

Ive just caught up with the episodes. I'm so confused re the kitchen comment between Zach and Charlotte.

She was telling the others that she told him dinner was ready and that he said, "ooh, your last supper!" But that's not what he said at all, he said, "ooh, the final supper," i.e. not aimed at her at all.
I don't think she misheard him but she defo misinterpreted it, and then relayed it to the others and even said he'd used those exact words.

I feel so sorry for Brian, each time he tried to explain, he just kept making it worse. It's the worst feeling when you say something then regret it, then you can't claw it back

mrstea301 · 05/01/2024 23:41

Brian got himself in such a rankle, I genuinely thought he was going to vote for himself at one point!

MadeOfAllWork · 05/01/2024 23:45

Am I the only one who got cross at them eating a roast dinner off their laps?
I don’t know why because I eat dinner off my lap most nights, but in a place like that with lots of places to sit, I’d be at a table.

I may be wrong but I suspect they are sometimes directed where to sit for optimum camera angles.

Pleasbekind · 06/01/2024 00:52

Yep you're overthinking this, I know Brian IRL he's over excitable, lovable, clumsy and Ditsy. Poor boy was just nervous ☹️ gutted for him..

If you watch the previous episodes, he was just genuinely happy to be there

He just panicked

IwishIdidntlikesugar · 06/01/2024 01:03

I cant blame the traitors for voting Ash. She is probably a bit of a liability. I was laughing at the ‘my mum is a terrible cook’ bit when they were all eating their roast dinner. They are doing well not to give it away. I am really enjoying this series so far and love Claudia’s outfits.

Twonewcats · 06/01/2024 01:09

Big up Brian for using "amn't" so brilliantly 🙌🏼

Willmafrockfit · 06/01/2024 06:40

i saw that abut charlotte bad mouthing zack, he has had a couple, i like him
i would have thought anthony would vote for diane. but i dont blame paul and harry voting for ash - she was/is a liability

crabbyoldbat · 06/01/2024 07:10

Fair enough, my only excuse is that it was late, and I was tired 🙂
