Sooooooooooooooo

22 kids is back. No doubt most have seen what they have been up to via their instagram /Fb pages but they are back for Christmas social and possibly new series

But I haven't seen it all. Know lots of holidays have been had which has annoyed many who can't afford to heat and eat and go for one weekend away

Let alone countless holidays

But let's see what happens in this Christmas special

No one in my family will want to watch it - I am sort of interested although I wouldnt say I'm a fan

I think the original format was a bit more fly on the wall, and more interesting featuring several families. the recent channel 5 series seems very set up and "dramas" that always seem to involve a power cut 🙄

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/12/2023 23:14

It is so set up now which is a shame as the older ones with 15 kids etx was much better

I saw it but it made no sense at all!! They were acting like it was Christmas day...they must have filmed the Christmas Dinner scenes months ago and then when it showed the kids opening their presents, you could tell it was footage from last year as some of the younger kids had much shorter hair! I just don't get why they showed it now, before Christmas? If they're trying to pretend it was actually Christmas they should have waited and shown it after the 25th!
The whole freezer thing and sue 'abandoning the family' was so obviously set up and contrived. Pity because I used to enjoy the fly on the wall style for those big family programmes! The only thing that felt semi real was the chloe luke rift thing

purpleme12 · 18/12/2023 22:33

I assumed that it was filmed last Christmas in preparation to be shown now?

TealTeaTowel · 19/12/2023 12:58

I’m just watching it now.

I don’t understand why Noel and Sue can’t see that they caused the Luke and Chloe situation by pitting them against each other for a job position in the bakery. 🙄

I feel so sorry for all the children in this family, they fight for attention and have no rules or boundaries, it’s not a happy way to live.

Newyearnamechangehere · 20/12/2023 21:52

I'm watching it now, found it on channel 5. What a load of scripted crap, honestly. No emotion in any of it just Sue and Noel appearing to read their lines out. And Sue chucking the tree by the bins? What?

purpleme12 · 20/12/2023 21:55

Yet we still watch it 🤣

Newyearnamechangehere · 21/12/2023 02:24

True! Although it's the first one I've seen since they did the original stuff. Wasn't it several families as someone further up said?

It was originally but it's not been like that for several years.
They've had their own programme for years now

Fizbosshoes · 21/12/2023 13:25

I'm pretty sure they stopped the programmes they used to do with channel 4, because they didn't like the way they were edited or it didnt show a true reflection of them/their lives. I thought they wanted more control over how they were portrayed, which obviously they do on their YouTube vlogs but I'm not convinced c5 is an improvement

BarryKentPoet · 21/12/2023 13:26

Horribly scripted and fake, I cringed through most of it.

MrsMoastyToasty · 21/12/2023 13:28

I reckon they filmed it in the autumn. The trees in the background of a couple of shots had leaves on them.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/12/2023 03:00

Tho the food shoooing must have been dec for sprouts and turkeys

But what a wats of food is was really £500

Tho guess only turkey and ice cream

But it wouldn't have smelt off unless been like 3w unplugged

Did anyone watch last night

No. I just can’t glorify a young girl becoming pregnant at the age Sue did by someone who should have been prosecuted for it.

And they can dress it up which ever way they want but it was abuse/grooming regardless of how much tinsel and baubles they decorate the pretence with.

purpleme12 · 22/12/2023 08:02

This might not be the right thread for you then

Macaroni46 · 22/12/2023 08:32

What struck me is how controlling Sue is. Saying Christmas is all about the DC but really woe betide any child who chose not to come home. Seems to have no concept of adult DC having their own lives and partners with families.
When things weren't going her way, having a tantrum and getting rid of the decs and tree. Talk about attention seeking!

purpleme12 · 22/12/2023 08:37

I see your point but then how much of that is put on for the Tele programme

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 22/12/2023 13:25

So why did Luke and Chloe really fall out?

It's all so scripted,it's almost unwatchable.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/12/2023 14:23

Still can't work out the Christmas meal on Xmas day

Was it filmed last year

As kept saying Xmas day and obv isn't this year

Why they didn't film it and show on 27/28 dec would have made more sense

They fell out @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor due to who could run the bakery after Noel retired and he did a competition between them

Chloe should have got it as she has been working there tears imo

Plus the son Daniel ? Going to oz for a year

Yes it's scripted. Yes it's pah at times and do think omfg but do like watching

Will wander over to tattle now and read them being crucified
