The one where your creepy bastard mannequin is not only more animated but is wearing something that is arguably more demure than your puritan stuff. And has more to say if you pull a string. Maybe “Graft and make it raiiiiiiiiiin”.

Classy? Yer bollocks yer are.

Your right about Laura, I think she has realised she a bit that she has invested time in two vacuous ugly sisters as mates and won't be the first time a bf of hers would of put them in their place. If she values them so much her choice in friends is shocking. They just want a thicko hooray Harry to pay their bar tap and she is clearly older than them and I bet her old mates have all married and had kids so ended up hanging round with 20 something from the circuit.

Either she will settle down and have the kids and ditch the horrid mates or be the mates bar tab buddy and end up a sad old maid as they scare off any decent guy.

Like others have said the Chelsea true types stay in there circuit and claim processors or manager like Laura won't have Daddy change left for ever to do the Chelsea fake life's. Champaign each weekend wont be cheap.

I wonder if Thomas and Laura may end up together as he would fit the Chelsea and mates box and sounds posh if not full on the cash front.

Was that drool on Ella’s dress from the freshly-filled -lip saliva pooling, or tears?

It was quite entertaining as you could track the stains to see the continuity errors. Big drip far right, 2 minutes later for the decision, no stain on the right but miraculously two on the left.

It feels wrong to say it but I'm starting to almost like JJ. I can't forgive how he treated Bianca but I think there might be quite a sweet guy under the Lego hair and dreadful clothes.

As PPs have said, the experts haven't called out some of the toxic behaviour from the women and it's really starting to grate. There's not a single genuine couple this series, it's a long way from the likes of Cam and Jules from MAFSA who were a sensible and successful match.

TheKnittedCharacter · 08/11/2023 06:21

I fell asleep before last night’s ended.

I am still pondering over Peggy. How old is she? She’s still living with her parents and of course she has a bedroom a 13 year old would be proud of. You can see where she gets her ideas from by her bloody caveman dad and mercenary mum. They are awful! I laughed at their attempt at a formal tea with the gussied up dining table laid up with dinner plates and a backwards tea cup plonked in the middle of them.

I think that relationship is utterly doomed.

I'm not sure why Peggy takes advice from her mother because she hardly comes across as very bright, does she?

10watt lightbulb comes to mind.

Why did the experts match Matt and adrienne if he wants kids and she doesn't?

They were matched because he's a window cleaner and she has windows

The mates look about 34 dont they!

They just don't want to lose a tribe member and feel jelous

Overloadimplode · 08/11/2023 07:10

Why is it ok for Laura to want to change Arthur and declare herself a 'helluva woman'? If Brad had done that he would have bern sent home.
Though it seems we have not seen what Arthur is really like. Lots of hints about lying.

AtlasPine · 08/11/2023 07:58

Someone mentioned that maybe Peggy’s family were of Traveller heritage. There are some parallels between how they live and how Travellers are often presented in the media in programmes such as the weddings one. The stacks of expensive China plates. The puritanical attitude towards an adult daughter being sexual along with acceptance of her overtly sexual presentation. The male dominance over the family and his aggressive ownership approach to an outsider male right from the start of the ‘process’.

Maybe.

Also - if Peggy was in an abusive relationship before this programme, you can understand a bit more why her parents are a bit protective of her.

MouseMinge · 08/11/2023 08:11

I don't think Laura and Tom would make a good romantic fit. Friends maybe. He's much younger than her and she's a bit too mercenary.

Psychoticbreak · 08/11/2023 08:16

I dont think Peggys family are travellers I think they are chavs that somehow came into money and then have decided they are snobs but sadly while you can have all the money in the world and no class and they have no class.

barbiedout · 08/11/2023 09:02

Peggy's dad is a builder and they live in Dsrtford area

Nah, they're just south Londoners. Msde some money in the building trade

. Bought a posh house in a Greater London suburb but saying Kent to protect their local

trulyunruly01 · 08/11/2023 09:10

Peggy's parents home and attitudes puts me in mind of someone trying to pretend they were a south London gangster back in the day.
There is a narrow zone around London, not quite stockbroker belt but out of the smoke where such people settle. Most of them are dead now or well past it.
All the gear but no idea.

Puppupandaway · 08/11/2023 09:16

I feel the whole messaging is wrong in this show. You shouldn't have to change (unless obviously your behaviour is controlling or abusive) to make someone want to stay with you. You have to fall in love, you have to decide if the good outweighs the bad and accept the person in front of you. Arthur is forever apologising, but he doesn't believe he's done wrong. He should be true to himself and not back down. Georges as well, he has nothing to apologise for. Peggy is just odd. She should just say to her parents 'I really like this guy, give him a chance'. End of. I can't believe that expert Paul told JJ he's got to affirm Ella every day. How tiresome, he should just naturally show he's into her, not act like he's gotta tick boxes everyday else Ella will get drunk and disrespect him! I'm glad the show is coming to an end, I think it's been a let down with the matches and the obvious arguments.

Loveinacandle · 08/11/2023 09:36

Peggy is so annoying, I can’t believe the experts let her get away with. I think she does like Georges but thinks she needs to improve him, so boring!

Tasha is a head case, I think it shows that Paul is immature in intimate relationships that’s why he can’t see the signs. I do think she has potential but she needs serious help, Paul needs to run…for now perhaps.

I actually feel sorry for Ella. I suspect her presentation is quite common for people transgender people. In your head, you need to be ‘the best version of woman ever’ or it just doesn’t make sense internally. I can’t see how you would get past that whilst also pretending/convincing yourself that you’re something you’re not. I don’t mean that unkindly, but I guess it’s maybe a symptom of dysmorphia overall? I like JJ, although he comes across like a teenager. I think he’s probably in way over his head!

Jordan is so miserable and his hair is awful. Erica is equally annoying so I suspect their relationship is hard work overall.

Roz was always faking it hoping to make it with Thomas. I think her comment was brutal but at least she was being honest! That was the crux of it

awaynboilyurheid · 08/11/2023 09:38

I agree Paul so called ixpirt doled out terrible advice, JJ Said Ella gets drunk and is verbally abusive, then Ella said it’s because I looked at his ex girlfriends
Pauls reply was well JJ tell Ella that she is wonderful every day and for life!?!?
No mention of alcohol issues or the verbal abuse, they seem to have a huge carpet that they sweep major issues in relationships under and smile sweetly on with a awww aren’t they cute together attitude. Mental.

Any1Else · 08/11/2023 10:14

This season has been bad!

Given that it’s all fake, I’m pretty sure Peggy living with her parents is nonsense. She undoubtedly has a home of her own - but the producers decided her parents (and their house) were far too entertaining to leave out.

TheKnittedCharacter · 08/11/2023 10:25

I did wonder if Peggy’s family were travellers, but she’d be likely to be long married by now if that were the case.

Plexie · 08/11/2023 10:31

Does Peggy definitely live with her parents? At the beginning of the home stay the voiceover referred to it as her "family home". And the fact that she knocked on the front door rather than let herself in, made me think it's her parents house and she doesn't live there - but probably still has a bedroom there.

Her mum looked amazing. I assume she's had work done, but it doesn't look fake.

Any1Else · 08/11/2023 10:32

One or two of them had spoken of having previously been married. Maybe she was - can’t remember.

Awful to comment on a woman’s appearance - but I couldn’t help noticing Peggy and her mother seemed to have very similar facial structure around their eyes. Hard to say whether that was a natural occurrence (which it might be) or something they paid for.

Mortimermay · 08/11/2023 10:32

I agree. JJ mentioned that this abuse when drinking wasn't a one off but part of a pattern and Nathaniel alluded to exactly the same issues from the start.
You have to hope that they are offering her support and looking into this off camera but either way it shouldn't be swept under the carpet with the idea that it's kind of JJ'S issue to sort out by just constantly telling her how fabulous she is

barbiedout · 08/11/2023 10:33

She's always in that room on her instagram posts

trulyunruly01 · 08/11/2023 11:08

I also dislike this 'you must reaffirm her every day' line.
That makes it meaningless.
I said weeks ago on this or the other thread that Ella's transition is not complete. She measures her value in only one way.
She needs help to recognise what else, if anything, she brings. Whether that's razor sharp wit, the ability to consistently beat the chaser, or the meanest chilli west of the Avon.

MelsMoneyTree · 08/11/2023 13:31

Caught up with last night's.

Poor Thomas - that was awful and harsh. I don't think it's true that Ros doesn't want kids with Thomas - she doesn't want kids with anyone just now because she's obviously terrified of relationships and commitment. Although maybe she was deliberately being cruel so they would all be clear there was no hope for the relationship.

Because it seems if you say your partner drinks (Ella), is handsy (Ella), has a temper (Tasha and Luke), etc - then the experts try to make you stay.

There was a real opportunity with Ella for the experts to tease out the relationship problems that come with being insecure and having dysmorphia. I don't think Ella is unique - but the experts just completely avoided addressing those issues - and so Ella continues getting drunk and being awful. Telling JJ to provide daily affirmations was shockingly bad advice. Possibly the worst advice I've ever heard on MAFS - and that bar is quite high.

Peggy's family want to keep her locked up at home. Whether that's because she had a previous abusive relationship - or whether it's because her DSIS managed to get out and her parents want someone to look after them in old age - I don't know. But I get the sense she wants TwoGeorges to help her escape.

murasaki · 08/11/2023 13:57

Totally unfair on JJ. But it serves the narrative of validating Ella whatever they do which has been in place from the beginning.
