Coleen Rooney - The real Wagatha Christie Story on Disney+

Anyone else watched it yet?

I Watched this all yesterday (admittedly whilst doing some other domestic stuff so basically listened to it 😂) but found it to be really quite compelling. Thought Coleen Rooney came across really well (was never a fan tbh) but she was open and balanced about everything that had happened to the point of being quite gracious.

Rebekah Vardy on the other hand… after listening to the lawyers discuss the tactics deployed by her team and the journalists involved , just wow. And the denying of being the leak even when faced with undeniable proof was just both breathtakingly stupid and delusional in equal measures. I cannot understand why Jamie Vardy didn’t stop the whole thing in the face of the lawyers first opinion and after disclosure? £3m his wife wasted and as Coleen states she hasn’t been paid her awarded legal costs of £1.8m it does appear that maybe it was money that they didn’t have to lose. Possibly the greatest own goal of all time.

I've just sat down to watch it and can't find it. Has it been removed?

Netaporter · 19/10/2023 12:29

I just checked my Disney+ app and it is there?

I went to the premiere last night but they only showed us 2 episodes so I'm going to watch the final one tonight.

I thought the way she went about catching her out was brilliant but I can't believe she managed to do it all without telling ANYONE not even Wayne!

I'm looking forward to the court battle.

Ooh @flumpalumps 👏 👏

I'll be honest I knew who CR was but not much about her or about the wagatha stuff, have to say I loved it! So interesting hearing about her background and her beautiful sister. Just shows behind the glossy photos you never know what they've been through, it's really clever how she caught her as well, how horrible to have someone you thought you could trust who has also been a victim of the tabloids sell private stuff about you.

Scorchio84 · 19/10/2023 19:07

Vardy is an absolute snake & her husband undid his glory with Leicester

LadyBird1973 · 19/10/2023 20:28

CR seems like such a nice person. I have a lot of respect for her - she seems genuinely decent. And she was a lot more gracious towards RV in that documentary than she could have been - no gloating or focusing on Vardy's most embarrassing moments in court.

I don't understand why Vardy went ahead with this. She could have just denied it, said that other people have access to her account and that she would put a stop to it. It would all have blown over. Instead she went for this court case - did no one tell her that all her phone and email records would be available to CR legal team. You'd think someone who had sent such nasty messages would want to avoid those becoming public, especially with her history re Peter Andre.

I really enjoyed it.

I was quite enraged at the paparazzi stalking her going to school as a teenager. She never had a hope of living a private life.

And I appreciated near the end talking through the timeline of leaked story, positive Vardy piece. I hadn't realised quite how calculated it all was.

LadyBird1973 · 19/10/2023 21:46

Yes, it was shocking how the paparazzi were allowed to follow a child to school and just going about her lawful business!

Spongeeater · 19/10/2023 22:22

I agree that Colleen came over really well. She's right this should not have gone to court unbelievable that RV thought this was a good idea. I wonder how much she regrets it now?

EmpressSisi · 19/10/2023 22:25

She and her family seem so nice. I loved their relationship with gorgeous Rosie 🥰😭

smilesup · 19/10/2023 22:28

Piers Morgan is such a nasty snakey cunt in it. I can't wait for something to be fall him.

LizzieSiddal · 19/10/2023 22:32

I really enjoyed it too.

I just can’t understand RV, the fact she sold the first story the week after Colleen was dealing with her H being caught drunk in another woman’s car, such a cruel thing to do to another human being.

TenPenceMix · 19/10/2023 23:32

@smilesup yes I agree. He massively missed the point of the whole thing.

Lndnmummy · 19/10/2023 23:41

I can not understand how noone in RV's circle told her enough? How come not one person stepped in to stop this madness? It is bonkers. Makes me think she doesn't have any real friends and that they enjoyed her making a fool out of her self. It is just so illadvised.
No way would I bankroll a courtcase for my other half knowing she was in the wrong. And be made such a laughing stock. She comes across like an utterly vile human being. Just awful.

everything you say is correct... pointless waste of time & money for nothing! my friends would have taken me aside way before it got to anything like this granted we're not WAGS & I'm not a crazy RV

AnneElliott · 20/10/2023 08:52

I watched it all last night. Agree that CR came across so well. And cannot understand why VR carried on and now has a judgement that says she's an unreliable witness who tried to hide evidence!

I really would have liked to have heard VR's legal advice as it seems bonkers to have taken it that far with the risks she was taking.

They probably did tell her all phone and email records would have to be shown hence the broken phone and laptop and phone that fell in the sea.

giddymonday · 20/10/2023 11:17

Colleen came across beautifully. A very smart, calm, lovely human, genuinely flabbergasted that Vardy could do
what she did. Referring to Vardy as "cheeky" when she should have called her "utterly vile" which is what she is.
So sorry to see the stress Colleen was under whilst going through the totally unnecessary court drama. Glad the result of
that means that people have been able to see what she's about; ie. a genuine, intelligent woman and not
just a WAG.

workshy46 · 20/10/2023 17:53

I was sitting behind Coleen Rooney at an England match years ago and she couldn't have been nicer to to stream of kids, young girls coming up looking to talk to her and get photos. Far far beyond what any of the other wags were doing. Utterly lovely

tothelefttotheleft · 20/10/2023 19:48

She comes over so much better than Victoria Beckham does in the Beckham documentary.

Munchies7 · 20/10/2023 22:47

Watched this today, loved it! I don't recall paying that much attention to the saga when it was happening but this doc summing it all up was great. Love coleens investigation. Rebekah Vardy looks guilty as. Wonder how many Sun exclusives she has had since Colleen's post.

No need

TokyoSushi · 20/10/2023 22:53

I used to deal with CR a lot through work, she's really nice.

KissyMissy · 20/10/2023 22:57

CR is lovely
