To be fair to Mark - which makes me shudder inwardly - he didn't think that cufflinks were called buttons. The shirt he needed to wear was set up for shirt studs which can be worn with a dress shirt. He had those and cufflinks. Also, to be unfair to him, if he works in high fashion and doesn't know that they're called shirt studs then he's even more of a halfwit than we already know he is.

I watched on catch up due to the Jimmy Savile thing. Anyway! Tattoo is of course more awful than the most awful fucking thing in fucking awful-ville. Sean seems lovely and I'm glad that the preview from tomorrow seems to suggest that him and Tattoo are going nowhere. Good!

Re Ella and Nathaniel. So, to be fair to Ella, which isn't something I want to do and of course, I haven't watched from the beginning, but ... Nathaniel doesn't want to be physical with her, he doesn't fancy her and that must be hard. To be fair to Nathaniel, he's not obliged to fancy her and she is over the top and annoying, so her friend's insistence that he owes her anything is as childish as I expect from most of the people on this show. Tough tits - which I'm sure yours are Ella, I reckon you can use them as battle rams against a castle door. On the one hand, I don't think that Nathaniel does particularly care about the JJ thing from his point of view although it does damage the pride a bit, but given what he said yesterday he's probably also thinking of Bianca who is the innocent in all of this. Yes, she's a bit wet but the experts have played a cruel trick on her.

Re JJ, I went out with teenagers who were able to make more eye contact and put whole sentences together better than he can.

Re the wedding of lovely Sean and Tattoo, the fake drama of will he won't he was nauseating. Of course he was going to, he's a media whore. He'd have got married in a gimp suit with a gag ball in his mouth if they'd asked him to.

Am I the only one who thinks JJ looks like Ramsay Bolton off GOT?

I still think Ian Huntley is a better descriptor for JJ.

Just catching up with tonight’s episode. I’ve not taken to Mark at all. I’m also not a fan of people sitting on work surfaces. Sit on a chair Nathaniel! I can’t stand backwards baseball caps either, it’s for young children or Harry Enfield as Kevin.
JJ is a wuss but I can’t understand how Bianca wants to keep trying with him. The horse is dead, stop flogging it.

JJ clearly not interested in Bianca and so better for him and Ella to give it a try, I do feel sorry for Bianca, but not for Nathanial, he is not interested in her.

.@MouseMinge the producers are so cruel on this show, putting entertainment before giving all the couples a real opportunity to be matched with someone compatible. I would find it more entertaining to watch a couple navigating a real relationship.

on another note I find Bianca to be one of the best looking girls on the show. I cannot stand the way some of the other women including Ella are so full of themselves and using the show as an audition to work as influencers.

Yet again getting only 5-10 mins of some couples in between the commitment ceremony and the next dinner party. What’s the point?

I skipped through 90% of the latest episode. The new marriage is obviously going nowhere.

I always knew it was fake but now it’s so obviously just a bunch of wannabes playing house. JJ doesn’t even fancy Ella, he’s just trying to raise his profile by creating a love triangle. Nathanial wanted out from the very start so none of this is news to us.

Why do we see so little of Arthur and Laura, even less of Tasha and Paul? There’s now so many couples it’s hard to keep track, like a conveyor belt of fake faces all saying the same lines. There’s so much stuff going on in the background that gets alluded to but we never see it, it’s like there’s two different shows running at the same time.

Jay and Luke are doomed if he won’t move up north, as she is obviously devoted to her sister and won’t move either.

The two new grooms - the Icksperts must have been drunk (don’t blame them) when they matched those two! Warwick Davis and Forrest Gump.

I missed the groom's sad back story. I couldn't be bothered restarting to find out.
It's beginning to feel as though they pick story/character arcs out of a lucky bag: different sex drive; wrong sex altogether; lied about age; thinks it's a competition, etc.
I know it's a personal failing of mine but I like Fantasy Island groom. I also liked Thomas last year - until I didn't. They remind me of friends I had in my 20s.

The gay guys I know who are ott and lie as easily as breathing developed both as defence mechanisms. The lying starts from hiding they're gay - even if they have a supportive family there will still be places they hide their sexuality eg school, work, walking down the street. That constant insecurity seems to keep all their emotions teetering on the edge and then quite often their first gay community that accepts them (equalities clubs; gay bars; drag clubs) rewards and recognises ott drama.
They're crying out for genuine connection whilst absolutely terrified to risk it. And they're kind-hearted, fun and generous below the bluster.
I also have gay friends who aren't like that at all. Instead they are sensible, dependable and live on an even keel but they've always been secure in their sexuality, personality and place in the world.
Someone said I collect waifs and strays. If I was on the iexperts' couch, they'd say I'm drawn to people who push others away.

I was a bit distracted last night trying to work out whether Mark was filmed walking round my local aquadrome. With or without his skull buttons (and personally I thought his white jacket was a bit naff).

While I find MAFSA painfully drawn-out, this series seems the opposite. As PPs have said, we're not seeing a lot of the couples in between the dinner party and commitment ceremony.

I can't quite work out how Ella has such a feminine body (excluding the faux melons that is). She's very small-framed with curves in the right places. Is it having hormone therapy before puberty?

Ella does have manly shoulders though...
But yes, she is a feminine shape. I suspect she was probably on hormones from a fairly young age.

I could see Ella on tv after the series but maybe I am wrong.

I really don't like Ella and given the confidence I don't see how there is an expectation that everyone is flinging themselves at Ella all the time outside the experiment.

Probably means Ella will get to present or something. They need to stop these people being rewarded in taking up the jobs that many (actual real people) train for without making themselves look stupid in 'reality' first.
