Tonight 9.30pm. Based on the Sue Gray report telling the story of what was happening during Covid 19 inside 10 Downing Street including the lockdown breaching parties.

He did nearly die. It’s absolutely disgusting that you are saying such a thing. Please stop. It’s too Much. He is a human being with small children. Stop the hate.

What?

Seriously??

HorseySurprise · 06/10/2023 22:23

I've just watched the first 15 minutes or so. Not sure if I'm going to watch the rest as I lost both parents during the first lockdown, they died alone in hospital and I was very ill because I'd been trying to look after them at home. I might come back to it when I feel a bit stronger.

Just stop. It’s sickening.

What hate ? I kind of think saying " Let the bodies pile high in their thousands "
Is pretty revolting when people were dying in their thousands so I'll keep my sympathy those and their loved ones .

Oh, I am so sorry. I can't begin to imagine what you went through, and quite obviously are still going through.

I suggest you don't watch. I didn't go through what you have been through and it was upsetting

Don’t watch it, it’s just politically motivated fodder. Look after yourself and go and get some proper bereavement counselling. Take care of yourself.

Stop trying to defend. It's disgusting

Because Boris knew that the bodies from the mental heath and vulnerable children/ babies - the actual fall out of lockdowns would blow the covid numbers out of the water. Not to mention those with cancer, heart problems. You are only looking at one side of the catastrophic consequences of covid - which was NOT the governments fault.

He was ill but he did not nearly die. That's not hate.

He spent a few days on oxygen, didn't have CPAP, much less get near a ventilator. A couple of days after leaving hospital he spent 10 minutes on television making a statement telling us how wonderful the NHS was and wasn't even breathless! People who nearly died took weeks, if not months, to recover. The idea that a 50 odd year old, overweight man recovered so quickly after being near death is simply absurd.

Don't be so gullible.

Guiltyfeethavegotnorhythm0 · 07/10/2023 01:52

@StarbucksSmarterSister Exactly no one knows the source of "he nearly died " .I have been ill in hospital on quite a lot of oxygen ,it was a lung thing and was unable to shower but I certainly never "nearly died."

StarbucksSmarterSister · 07/10/2023 01:59

I've been on oxygen in hospital too. It wasn't pleasant but I didn't "nearly die" either!

Johnson himself said about it being "touch and go" so it probably got exaggerated from there. In a subsequent interview he said it had been fairly mild compared to many.

DivingForLove · 07/10/2023 02:13

@Lastchancechica you seriously defending Johnson? Jesus. They walk among us 🤯.

My dad died alone in hospital while that wanker got pissed with his mates. Fuck him to hell and back. Politically motivated my arse 🙄🤬.

WhalePolo · 07/10/2023 09:17

My take on it was that they didn’t want to enforce the restrictions that they were being advised to enforce by scientific advisors. They partied because they knew they would be alright and saw themselves as superior to the vulnerable.
I think they were seeing the positives in a cull.
Comments like ‘let the bodies pile high’ were evidence of this.
They wanted to protect the economy over health.

However, I would not want to use their incompetence to advocate a situation would have resulted in a higher fatality rate, hospitals collapsing and impacting the health if anyone requiring medical care.
A policy of no restrictions during a pandemic would have to be applied on a global scale. You cannot advocate a situation where those countries with better healthcare facilities can stay open, where as those with poor facilities are left to collapse. It would lead to huge global inequality and a virus, with no method of control - highly likely to
mutate into something deadlier.

A pandemic needs a global approach and needs to be tackled on a global scale. A pandemic is a far bigger issue than Partygate.

If that section where they were talking about the Ireland border was remotely true to life, it's frightening to think these idiots were helping to run the country.

Yes, that was mind-boggling! We need a film about that, how the UK ended up with such a shit deal out of complete arrogance, carelessness and incompetence.
I do wonder if we could petition for the fines to be cancelled; or if we could crowd-fund for the students who got the 10K fine. It enrages me. I followed the rules and wouldn't approve of breaking them, but given what went on in number 10, it's an outrage for the fines to stay.

Of course he didn’t nearly die! Those who nearly died were on ventilators, in hospital for weeks and took at least months to recover. It was just another political ruse 🙄

Not only are you a Tory cheering outlier who is ignoring clear evidence and facts, but this post of yours doesn’t even make sense. Could you re-read it, then re-write it so that I can understand what you’re saying?

Boring waste of time. I am amazed anyone watched it and somehow missed it when it happened the first time 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don't miss it but I had NO idea the extent of the partying 😱

I watched it last night and I am so angry about it.

Angliski · 11/10/2023 22:44

The complete lack of fear though. Did none of them get covid from that level of proximity? What gave them the confidence ot be so fearless???

StarbucksSmarterSister · 12/10/2023 02:24

Well since Johnson and some Cabinet members got Covid, I'm sure some staff did too. But they all seem to have been young and pretty fit so presumably nobody was really ill.

IncognitoMam · 14/10/2023 00:19

Just watching it. Dh has it on.

It's disgusting.

Angliski · 14/10/2023 14:10

It really is disgusting.
