I think the my husband and I started because they watched too much MAFSA in preparation

Jakadaal · 04/10/2023 22:58

Watching on catch up 'I'm living in my vessel' oh do fuck off Brad

Nogaxeh · 04/10/2023 23:01

I am genuinely gobsmacked that they haven't lost a couple or three yet.

In yesterday's episode we had Shona briefly challenging Brad for telling everyone about the details of their sex life, and in today's episode he's managing to cast it as people spreading rumours about it. There's a massive klaxon sounding in my head.

I listened to one of the Lara Eyre podcasts, and she was talking to Marilyse about how unfairly she thought Frankie had been portrayed by the editors in their relationship, so I'm wary of vilifying Brad too much.

Either Brad is as bad as they are making him look, in which case they have a duty of care to Shona to end that relationship before it causes her more damage, or they have done an absolute hatchet-job on Brad, and they risk causing him immense harm.

It doesn't make any other sense to me, and I'm quite uncomfortable about it. I'm interested in seeing what happens next for some of the couples, but I do wish that the Brad/Shona relationship wasn't going to continue.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 04/10/2023 23:01

That kind of word wankery makes my vessels want to burst.

Are Tasha’s silly put on voices annoying?!

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 04/10/2023 23:09

I said at the time that Frankie wasn’t bad but I was quite the lone voice. And I’m not Marilyse either…

This lad though? The flash of angry in the eyes and cheek bollocks?

I get a waft of something of the night about him.

Absolutely, you could say Roz and whatshisname are quite genuine, because they aren't pretending to the rest of the group that everything is okay when it's not.

Yes I thought the same "geniune couple" and "seem to get along" is not the same thing.

I thought maybe Porsha and Terrance would be high on the "Geniune" scale as they were quite happy to dislike eachother and try and work past it. Shona and Brad I'd say we're the least "genuine" as they say all the big words, talk about love and babies but it's built on nothing and Brad's clearly toxic and treating her badly while giving it all the chat in front of others.

afterdropshock · 04/10/2023 23:16

Not interested in any more couples. Will skip the next episode.

SecondClassReturnToDottinghamPlease · 04/10/2023 23:16

None of the couples on the couch look even remotely impressed by the Brad & Shona session

They're not. Which is why they were voted bottom of the genuine couples. Shona can't see what they can see.

RainRainGoGoAway · 04/10/2023 23:17

Ah me too

Sumthingsweet · 04/10/2023 23:39

Def Tasha fake show voice what is that pleased with self talk it’s weird

Sumthingsweet · 04/10/2023 23:40

Fair comments by all

Twonewcats · 04/10/2023 23:41

Ugh Brad is utterly vile. It's extremely refreshing that every single one of the others also sees that.

I liked how Paul CB challenged him - "that was great!...... Until..."
Brad looked floored.
It was interesting seeing the short clip from their wedding day again. His relaxed face and beaming smile were a million miles from how they are now.
I'm also happy to see Brad being told that Shona doesn't need to be "allowed" to do anything.

So, do any of you know how the process works??
I.e how regularly are the dinner parties and couch sessions? Do the couples spend all day every day together or are they only together for the tasks/counselling sessions etc?
And why don't they go on many dates? They definitely used to.

chaosmaker · 05/10/2023 00:22

They should show more of those, especially if there are a zillion episodes to bore through.

WallaceinAnderland · 05/10/2023 01:11

Glad the ixperts spelled out the relationship imbalance for Shona and Brad. Don't think it will make the slightest difference to either of them. Shona will try to assert herself, Brad will knock her down and she will just accept it.

Mel actually used the word 'dangerous' to describe where their relationship is heading if they don't change their dynamic. Quite strong really but I don't think Shona is hearing what everyone is saying.

craggyrat · 05/10/2023 07:21

The guy I know isn’t one of the new couples shown last night so he must be in the last two couples to come in. I hope he survives okay as he is so lovely! He is actually our window cleaner but does bodybuilding competitions. Matt from Harrogate when he arrives.

Goodness me but Brad is reptilian.

Augustus40 · 05/10/2023 07:30

Juicy podcasts are on you tube about the contestants.

Villagetoraiseachild · 05/10/2023 09:22

Is the vessel that Brad lives in called Namaste by any chance?

Where did you find it please, I can't seem to find the one about frankie and Marilyse?

RobynRB · 05/10/2023 10:27

Porscha and Mr Beardy are fake as hell.

Does Rozz remind anyone of Sheridan Smith when she was in Two Pints?

mrstea301 · 05/10/2023 10:57

@Shocked33 Lara's podcast is called Lara on Eyre - her most recent episode has an interview with Thomas from last year but I haven't listened to it yet!

The MAFS Hysteria podcast is good too, their most recent episode has an interview with Sophie from last year which is good. It sounds like the commitment ceremonies can go on for 15+ hours - she said you'd need to be ready for about 8am and each couple has up to an hour on the couch!

Wow that's so long no wonder they look bored! I'll try and find the marilyse one, thank you

Yes

The episode which includes Marilyse is called "I'm so excited!" I wonder if I can find a link...

This should work.

Honestly this is what they do in the Moonies. It's like forced teaming. Going on until they are exhausted
