I’ve been on catch up. As was unable to watch the first few episodes. But am currently catching up. Please feel free to share any opinions, goss and updates here!!

I think Georges is saying and doing what he thinks Peggy wants and not being himself. That isn't sustainable long term.

Brad has defended himself saying that the viewers didn't get to see their whole story and he didn't mean he was allowing Shona to speak but that it was allowable or acceptable. Well he did say HE would allow her more than once and told her to shut up and it may have been edited in a certain way, but he did say those things and that's what she heard/perceived (as did the 'experts'). Funny how defensive Brad is now that he alone is being criticised and his 'I don't care what others think of me' has gone completely out of the window. I don't think he is particularly deep, in fact (to me) he seems quite shallow - obsessed with himself. I think the 'deep conversations' that he craves are just conversations about the things he is interested in ie Brad (Brad doing yoga, Brad meditating, Brad being spiritual).

I felt very sorry for Bianca tonight picking up that JJ didn't find her attractive. I think she is sweet but very girl next door. In the looks department I think they are evenly matched. She reminds me of someone, but I can't think who it is!

Georges is definitely hiding his time. Peggy is sweet but comes across as a bit vacant. He's after a shag buddy who lets him otherwise live the life of a bachelor.

After Brad and Ella, Laura remains my least favourite. I'm not sure Luke was far off with the gold digger comment, she's pretty insufferable and I think quite a bit of her posh persona is put on. (Ironically I have a very wealthy friend who gets a nervous tic if he has to leave the sanctuary of SW3 but he's lovely and properly posh, not like her pretend version).

Agree Laura may be well off but she doesn't come across as posh. She is from Portsmouth (I think) not Chelsea with a pretty mediocre job. Apparently she has been on two reality programmes before.

I just wish that Peggy would lose the awful black eyeliner. So dated and makes her eyes small.

So Nathaniel was only there so that Ella could ‘tell her story’ and the show would get woke points.
You can see that Nathaniel has zero physical attraction for Ella but now that the fairytale wedding day is over, physical attraction is all the Ella wants for validation as a woman and really can’t understand why Nathaniel isn’t wanting to just shag the whole time.
I wonder how long Nathaniel can keep up the ‘I just want to know you better’ routine.

Brad is beyond awful. I’m getting triggered by the controlling behaviour that is starting to show, and I’ve never been in any kind of abusive relationship, so I can’t imagine how Tasha must be feeling.

She is. I think MagpiePi meant that because Tasha has experience of abusive relationships in the past, it must be difficult to watch this going on in close proximity.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. They've created a couple and presumably Brad was subject to psychological assessment before taking part in the show.

His behaviour is already highly inappropriate and by ejecting them from the show, they're leaving Shona without their support but also without the safety net of scrutiny of Brad. Isn't that against their basic duty of care? (Whatever PR waffle they'll put out to cover themselves).

The bottom line is that he shouldn't have been taking part in the experiment. (Appreciate that people can hide their true colours).

Second @sep135 's concerns. Wasn't George from last year arrested for controlling behaviour? Channel 4 need to tighten up their vetting procedures

Glad if that’s true but hope that the show provide some decent after care for Shona. At least the whole country know about Brad’s behaviour now!

JJ looks like Mr Potato Head with as much going on inside. And am betting it’s him who snogs Ella.

I think that they are under some pressure to create couples that are going to have conflicts as it makes interesting watching, and we shouldn’t forget this is a show however much they dress it up as an ixperiment.

After hearing about the MAFS AUS series with Brontë and Harrison and how she was bullied into staying, I’m much more cynical about the whole thing. But, if they have learned some lessons and are not allowing a woman to be left in an abusive relationship then that has to be a good thing.

I’m currently watching the US version and their process seems much bet the r and has a higher success rate!

I mean it's good that Brad has been called out and kicked off but effectively leaving Shona to deal with Brad without any (pretty inept) experts is more or less abandoning her to a shit marriage that they engineered her into.

She's gullible enough to try and stick it out but they are in a very pisspoor safeguarding position if she decides to take legal action

Someone quite rightly pointed out that it would have been recorded a while ago.

So the whole we've kicked him off the show after the public outrage is a complete red herring.

Or else they re edit and cut him out?

Im wondering after the furore that happened around Harrison on MAFS AUS, whether they’ve opted to take a stricter approach going forward on anything that looks abusive.

Haven't read through the thread but Peggy is a cheeky controlling woman she goes on about Jorge yet she wears a skirt that is so short on TV that her knickers are showing? She's also been on take me out she's another wannabe. That other thing that's supposed to be a Christian??? Who only wants a rich man that will keep her where on earth so they pick these people up? She thinks she's god's gift but actually she's not.

How could I forget Thomas and his poor long suffering boyfriend that looked like Kenneth Branagh. That man was an absolute saint, although Thomas had a side sweet, just a very deeply buried one.
