Oops got the title wrong in my first thread - have requested deletion

Starting tomorrow on itv1

“My Mum, Your Dad is a British dating reality show that is set to begin airing on ITV1 on 11 September 2023. It will be presented by Davina McCall and follows middle-aged single parents heading to a romance retreat for a second chance at love which is overseen by their children.”

From a Google for the show it appears there is already 1 season of the US called My Mom, Your Dad. So presumably the same format.

Anyone planning to watch?

Is this the show that was billed in the media as an upcoming middle aged Love Island earlier this year?

Just watched the first two episodes tonight and liked it so far. The two who did the paddle board yoga seemed to have a good spark. I think Clayton might prove to be Too Much. And Rog is 🔥but clearly not in the place that he needs to be emotionally to think about putting himself back out there.

Think the mackem and the Essex boy have sexual chemistry but not sure there’s much more there than a quick boff.

I think the kids seem a lovely bunch, all very emotionally aware and so supportive of their parents, but with humour thrown in too. It's not as cringe as l thought it might be with them watching. I'm enjoying it so far and also loving the music.

I’m hoping they all get along and feel better about life when it ends.

The ‘kids’ seem lovely. From the mums and dads, Caroline’s my favourite and maybe Elliot. I find Clayton maybe just a bit too much for my taste, but it’s early days.

I know we shouldn’t really comment too much on appearances but I do think most of the women look better at breakfast than when they’re full on done up in the evenings. I think they look a bit severe and uncomfortable in the tight, short outfits and harsh makeup and a lot more relaxed and easier to get to know otherwise. Put that together with filming and it’s quite intimidating for some of the men. Or maybe it’s just that me and my friends don’t dress up to that extent and I’m just not that familiar with it.

Roger said he liked blondes and his daughter thought new last May suit on first glance. Scottish lady lovely and natural. Get mixed up but the one who had on the white dress/suit jacket at the end has had a lot of cheek fillers too much perhaps 🤔.

He seems a lovely guy, but way too Paul "tightly-packaged jeans" Hollywood for me.

And the baggage is going to be tough for anyone to cope with I think. He has a lot to work through.

It's a shame they always have 'insta' types on shows like this but I guess there are very few genuine people who would actually want to do it.

Quite enjoying this.
And while I love the music (80s is pretty much all I listen to), it's odd how they've shoehorned so much into awkward gaps. Like, oh there's a 4 second gap in conmentary so we'll abruptly chuck in one line from a song at high volume.
I can't quite explain what I mean, but it feels a bit like they're hitting us round the face with it, rather than it being seamless

Really enjoying it. I did a bit of Googling after someone e mentioned Natalie and found she'd done a podcast. Pretty interesting stuff. Screenshots attached.

Apparently she's set up as a self esteem and relation recovery coach. She's obviously working hard to turn her life around.

I’m expecting the dominatrix from First Dates (and another TV prog) to turn up soon to bring all the men under control.

Unfortunately there's nothing 'genuine' on TV nowadays…
