Oops got the title wrong in my first thread - have requested deletion

Starting tomorrow on itv1

“My Mum, Your Dad is a British dating reality show that is set to begin airing on ITV1 on 11 September 2023. It will be presented by Davina McCall and follows middle-aged single parents heading to a romance retreat for a second chance at love which is overseen by their children.”

From a Google for the show it appears there is already 1 season of the US called My Mom, Your Dad. So presumably the same format.

Anyone planning to watch?

Is this the show that was billed in the media as an upcoming middle aged Love Island earlier this year?

Hello, just jumping on because I just watched it all today. I will go back and read your comments.

I loved it. It was so thoughtfully done and so wonderful to have people on a show displaying warmth, respect and love for one another.

The love and care the children had for their parents was so special and I realised it’s not a relationship, we see or reflect on very often.

Sad to read that about Paul and Natalie, glad for Monique, and hope for love for all of them.

Yes I think you are right @Theproofofthepudding but I felt percentage wise that your mum my dad seemed especially high (I may be wrong I havent actually worked it out)

especially as I had assumed they were just randomly selected as nice people looking for an other half, rather than selected for one another. But perhaps the show did actually have an idea who was suited to who and that’s why they were put together

I'm sure there would have been some 'engineering' behind the scenes, it's only a few months though so still a honeymoon stage. Being there for the right reason will have helped and they were all attractive..that would help!

I’ve seen an update from Nathalie and Paul on Instagram that they split up in August.

They were actually my favourite couple out of all of them.

I watched it a bit delayed as there were so many other good programmes on.
I loved Janey's glittery dress.
The songs were really ace weren't they.
Martin M just didn't come across as genuine in general.

I think Nathalie could be very intense and Paul seemed quite laid back, so maybe that's why it didn't work out.

It's a bit cringe how Janey calls herself JaneyBombshell on instagram.

I wanted to know more about Natalie's life and exactly why she went to prison! I assumed it was drug-related crimes like possession, dealing, stealing to buy drugs etc but she said something like previous traumas caused her to react in ways that led to her going to jail, which made it sound more like assault/criminal damage - but I may have misunderstood her.

She and Paul were my favourite people, they seemed genuine and likeable.

I hope Martin M is living the life he deserves in Ibiza/Thailand and that his son is doing well somewhere else.
