Oops got the title wrong in my first thread - have requested deletion

Starting tomorrow on itv1

“My Mum, Your Dad is a British dating reality show that is set to begin airing on ITV1 on 11 September 2023. It will be presented by Davina McCall and follows middle-aged single parents heading to a romance retreat for a second chance at love which is overseen by their children.”

From a Google for the show it appears there is already 1 season of the US called My Mom, Your Dad. So presumably the same format.

Anyone planning to watch?

Is this the show that was billed in the media as an upcoming middle aged Love Island earlier this year?

Just wanted to say how impressed I am with the young people! So kind, emotionally intelligent and caring of their parents, the other participants and each other. Gives me hope for the future. I thought at first it was a bit of a gimmick, but they've just all been so lovely.

Is anyone else screaming at the telly to tell Monique and Tollulah to wise up about how awful Martin M is? What on earth do they see in him? He's clearly a player.

I think Luke must have a great Mum, because he doesn't seem to be anything like his Dad. Did you see Martin M reach over to take Tollulah's hand, he couldn't even let Martin H and Tallulah have a moment together.

Monique must be the most gullible person I’ve ever seen. They don’t have to be in a couple but it’s as if they’d jump at literally anyone put in just not to be left with no one. Monique’s hand break turn on Martin number 1 was so bizarre. She was getting married to him the other night and by the next day other Martin had arrived and because he was tall as well that was her! 🙈

Felt so sorry for Martin number 1. Such a lovely guy. There will be loads of women after him when it's over. Kind , sincere and attractive. In fact all the men were lovely apart from Martin 2 the narcissistic DICK. He thinks he's some sort of adonis , with the pick of the bunch. Then when he came in after speaking to Tollulah he shouted " Get me a beer" ! to the other men, like he'd been through a major trauma. He wants to be a ladies' man, and one f the lads .Then went over, kissed Monique and said" Don't worry , she's gone now " about Tollulah. Knobhead. I feel so sorry for his son.

I think Martin nice guy had a lucky escape tbh as Tollulah seems flaky and not what he needs.

It's interesting viewing watching two women make big mistakes and i wonder if watching back they will realise that what they are doing is self sabotage. They obviously feel attracted to players.

I feel very sorry for the son. He must feel embarrassed and ashamed

We've also got to remember I suppose that these things are highly edited and pieced together so we are influenced to a certain degree by how it's produced . Martin 2 still a dick. 🤣

I think M and T like dickhead Martin because he has a lifestyle they want. It's that basic. He isn't good looking, he just has confidence and money. He came in from the off alluding to houses in the sun. It worked. His son looks so embarrassed about him.

Yep totally agree @AzureBlue99 his intro was all about his lifestyle/properties in Ibiza and everyone should go there after the show . If he said he was a delivery driver they wouldn’t be interested…simple as. They have both been fools Monique and Tollulah. If he is minted etc am sure he’d be looking for some younger arm candy anyway given his personality. He’s not a looker but on top of that he’s not pleasant …feel for his son dropped in it 😕

I’m very much looking forward to hearing what Monique and Tollulah’s daughters have to say to them in the last episode They don’t strike me as women who mince their words. I completely agreed with Tollulah’s daughter when she said she could kick her mum.

I’d love to see what Martin number 2’s lifestyle/career actually looks like in real life. Guarantee there are people watching it laughing at the fact he’s alluding to all of this wealth, properties etc. He’s probably got a one bed apartment in Ibiza and thinks he’s some sort of property tycoon.

He made it as if he had pick of the bunch but if you actually go back, no one else was interested in him so he hasn’t actually picked anyone, he took the two who had no one else 🤔 Martin number 1 is a saint of a man 🥹

I actually think the same, they went for the shiny rich man despite their children trying to veer them away from the mistakes they have clearly made in the past. Monique isn't coming across very well, like the kid who won the prize 🤷🏼‍♀️ silly woman. I really felt for her in the first couple of days, she seemed so fragile - the minute he mentioned Ibiza she was gone! I can't help thinking MM was put in as a red herring - getting to 'choose' between two women, good lord he's not even good looking!

I'm really liking the 'kids' on this and hope they all came out of it ok, especially Luke.

Sharon looks absolutely great without her makeup on. Monique and Tolullah, I think that's how she spells it, never seen it that way before, are not displaying the best of themselves over this love triangle come square. I hate this kind of menu choosing approach to trying to find love. Fish or chicken? chicken or steak? if not one then the other. Martin H is better out of it, I didn't see either of them being right for him.

I don't think it did Martin M any favours at all being one of the late, fresh, arrivals. He should have been there from the start and then if Martin H had come in afterwards, the whole dynamic might have been very different.

Don't forget it's on late tomorrow. 10pm start, after the UEFA Women's Football.

This programme has made me so cross! Martin M is a slimy awful tool and needs taking down a peg or two. What was Monique thinking with her "because you weren't here" nonsense with Martin H? It was clearly all bollocks but to him it meant so much. I'm much more cross with her than Tolullah but she's also been really unfair to the same bloody man. Argh!
Their kids are so so lovely. I hope they all tell M T and MT that they are thoroughly ashamed of them. And the Martin H's daughter, she's in pieces. Horrid.

I love Janey though. I don't think it'll go anywhere with Roger as it's too soon but her eyes are fully open so she is just making sure that the two of them are having the experience that they both deserve. Caroline was also wonderful.

I do have to say that this series is not doing much for my self esteem looks-wise. I'm in the middle of the oldest and youngest women but look Uber-haggard compared to most of them Angry

Yep Monique isn't coming across that well....she said that to Martin H and then as soon as Martin M came in and dropped the Ibiza/his property portfolio etc her head did a 360 degree swivel!

I think Martin M will drop her as I think he was erring with Tollulah until she went on the date with Martin H and he didn't want to risk being rejected so he plumped for Monique.

Janey and Roger....I think it is still too early for him, I like them both but not convinced it will be a goer after the show. He is in a whole new world and the first time he tries may not be the right one once he becomes for ready...Janey is fab and has a real upbeat vibe.

Kids are a brilliant bunch so thoughtful and wise for their years....feel for Martin H's daughter and Martin M's son as they are in the midst of it....

Have to say I liked Clayton too pity he didn't click with someone.

Paul and Natalie am not enthralled with so much, find them both a bit dull.

Am the same @wannabesilverfox they all look fabulous and glamorous how do they do it?!?! feel weathered in comparison 😂

I've always been baffled by hearing that some women will choose a man [and even marry them] for money, not even for attraction let alone love. How do they do it? And to see it played out in front of me on this programme has been amazing.
I would be so ashamed if it was my mother doing this. Martin M is one of the most unattractive men in looks and behaviour that I've seen, repulsive in his preening and boasting. M and T have shown how shallow they are. I think they both need therapy to be honest, to learn sincerity and honesty, and get their priorities and judgments of men straightened out.
I feel for Martin H's daughter, and I hope Luke can learn big lessons about how not to treat women, but he's already more mature than him already. I hope M and T's daughters give them both a good talk.

Roger is a postman if Martin M had arrived and introduced himself as a postie they would not have been interested. It's a poor refection on both Monique and Tollulah ....
