“My Mum, Your Dad is a British dating reality show that is set to begin airing on ITV1 on 11 September 2023. It will be presented by Davina McCall and follows middle-aged single parents heading to a romance retreat for a second chance at love which is overseen by their children.”

From a Google for the show it appears there is already 1 season of the US called My Mom, Your Dad. So presumably the same format.

Anyone planning to watch?

Is this the show that was billed in the media as an upcoming middle aged Love Island earlier this year?

Found your comments so sweet for some reason @blossomtoes and @Theblacksheepandme. He comes across an absolutely lovely bloke I agree. I’m in the Roger camp however. Really just so nice to see a great bunch (on the whole😉) of attractive men mostly in their fifties for a change. Women gorgeous too.

I drive a TR6 - so what - I have had it since 1974 and love it and in no way am I am snobby or entitiled and live in a 1 bed flat somewhere in the Midlands.

Earlier on when Martin M arrived, he said that the thing he missed most in the house was his phone. He said he is normally on it all the time. This would be very annoying to me as a partner. I think he will be very different at home.

Also, what are the women who like him planning to do, move to Ibiza? You can't even live there now without a visa. Sure they can visit but would you trust him the rest of the time not to be smarming over other women and hedging his bets.

Monique would need either a work visa which means she would need to secure a job in the area, or a non lucrative visa (where you're not allowed to work but need to show 28,800 euros in your bank a/c). Or a marriage visa. None of these are easy to obtain. That relationship is going nowhere.

Oh no. Ordinary people are so much more interesting.

Martin M reminds me very much of someone I know. When he remarried it was to someone the same age as his young adult children, very blonde and very flexible, with a liking for wearing stripper shoes! The typical trophy wife, I suppose. It did seem somewhat transactional, as he was already successful and semi-retired, with the large house with land and the very expensive sports car, and she has since been helped to build a business of her own and buy property abroad. Most people thought him foolish - not thinking with his brain! - and found the age difference uncomfortable. She always seemed to have her wits about her and her ambitions. He now has children and grandchildren of the same age. I hope they're happy though, especially as children are involved. It's hard to tell from the outside.
