The 'civilian' version was my favourite telly show ever, especially the early series before the invasion of the wannabes. Not so keen on the celeb versions; those people are always 'on'. Loved the first season when it was all raw. Sada doing her goddess chant every bedtime. The chickens. Nichola naked body painting the wall. Nasty Nick's downfall.

My favourite contestant was Science in BB6, and he was in my favourite task - the box task. 'Shut up' 'No you shut up'.

Top evictions:
Maxwell being evicted when he totally thought it would be Science.
Big-head Sezer visibly shocked that he was evicted.
Grace getting the boot and chucking water over Susie she was so mad.
Kathreya [Happy House!] getting chucked out in her dressing gown to no crowd.

Helen and Paul talking about doing "stuff" when they left. It was all so innocent until Michelle had her wicked way with Chicken Stu under the table. Remember when she had to sing Pie Jesu Grin

Do I do me Pie Jee-sooo now?

CheeseMuffin · 15/09/2023 09:20

Oh god! I'd blocked my memory of Peeee Jezzoooo but it's all coming back to me now...

"I'm 26, and I'm a solicitor - I am NOT getting in a cupboard!!"

I remember her! Walked out within a week.

I wish they'd show an one hour recap of each year. Abs show the contestants as they are now, (if they want)

MartinChuzzlewit · 16/09/2023 12:51

My favourite moments have to be fight night (I was on team Victor/Jason those women were annoying arsehole airheads) but the best ever was the confrontation of Nasty Nick. It was HUGE at the time - and so authentic, no hamming it up for the cameras or putting on an act. Craig’s confrontation was perfect, and so brutal but in a subtle way.

MartinChuzzlewit · 16/09/2023 12:51

I also loved it when Nikki returned to the house and spent the night snogging Pete. RIP amazing Nikki

coaldust · 16/09/2023 12:54

Celeb - DAVID'S DEAD!

Civilian - jade goody, Nikki Graham, Glynn wise "I'm cooking an egg for the very first time ahh umm!" I loved BB.

MartinChuzzlewit · 16/09/2023 14:04

Craig confessing his love for Anthony while wearing a lopsided Myra Hindley wig and some kind of demented blouse.

😂😂Yes he tried to get off with a VERY drunk Anthony whole Anthony was basically being sick down his back 🤣

Craig came off as very predatory

RonSwansonsChair · 16/09/2023 14:33

I can't quite remember this exactly, so if anyone else can remember that would be brilliant! (and a miracle based on my description!)
After BB6 there was some kind of fictional play or story (I remember it being really long!) Of the relationship between Anthony and Craig, where Craig was (obviously) in love with Anthony - maybe he kidnapped him or something 🤔
I can't remember what happened, but I remember laughing so hard! In today's words it went Viral at the time, but may only have circulated amongst my friends 🤣 it was emailed to me and I printed it out to read it.

Anyone else remember, or have a clue what I'm talking about?

I’ve just googled and apparently old episodes are available on Paramount+! I’ve literally just signed up to this - off to watch the Myra Hindley episode

RonSwansonsChair · 16/09/2023 16:39

It could well have been @TellingBone. Thanks for the link - had a quick scan a page one and all I can say is... it was very funny at the time! My old brain just doesn't get it today 🤔

MartinChuzzlewit · 16/09/2023 16:54

So the Paramount+ thing was a big fat lie. Fucking stupid Google showing me USA results 😭😭

Omg I remember that.
I was glued to digital spy in BB days

A really random bit that I still think of often is Alex shouting at Sandy as he tried to climb out in Season 3, "be careful Sandy!" in a really high pitched voice. Whenever I say "be careful" I hear it in my head and smile to myself though obviously can never make the joke out loud as no one else would get it!

I remember this! 'Run, Sandy, Run!'

MartinChuzzlewit · 16/09/2023 17:11

Was Fight Night BB5? I HATED the Lipstick Twats or whatever they called themsleves. I remember them spending every day having food fights then not cleaning up and then making the others out to be dicks because they called them messy. Awful! How on earth was Marco a barrister?!

I also remember quite a lot of racism towards Ahmed and Victor in that season. Emma kept getting away with saying the N word and Marco told Ahmed he was lucky to be in this country 🙄 I always thought the Jungle Cats got a bad rap

MartinChuzzlewit · 16/09/2023 17:22

im just watching fight night video that a PP posted - lol at Emma moaning about Victor “He’s called me fick! He’s saying that I look like Jade Goodier” 🤣🤣

Yes, and then Emma bursting into tears when Victor said she was racist. The usual tactic of racists!

burnoutbabe · 16/09/2023 17:36

i enjoyed ultimate big brother when Nick and Victor buddied up and did a "news report" every night in the shed, though it mostly wasn't shown to the audience.

I was glad he got to "redeem himself" for the APPALING crime of trying to influence votes. It seems such innocent times now when we have stuff like THE TRAITORS when the whole point is to get people to vote against others

Oh @burnoutbabe, I absolutely LOVE The Traitors! It actually reminds me a bit of the early BB in that no-one is quite sure how to play the game so there's an innocence about it.

The Oz one that was recently shown on BBC was brilliant telly!

MartinChuzzlewit · 16/09/2023 18:03

Yes, she didn’t deny saying the N word just that she didn’t mean it in a racist way 🙄🙄

Yes in hindsight they over reacted but that series was the first of its kind and in the context of it being normal people on a show that on paper should not have been that popular, it was scandalous!

Spiral - "oid do every ting to you..."

Surprised Helen Wood hasn't been mentioned yet. She was absolutely vile. Such a nasty bully. How she managed to stay in after the comments she made about Brian Belo being 'rapey' I do not know.

I have clear memories of all of them up until the one with Chanel and Ziggy and then they all just start blurring into one.

MartinChuzzlewit · 16/09/2023 18:17

Oh wow Chanel and Zigg-eh 🤣

Was it him who got pissed off at being told he looked like Pat Sharp?!

Remember CBB when the woman from Liberty X told Mimi from Shamless she looked like Fiona from Shrek 😂😂 then lied tried to claim she meant it was the Princess version not the ogre version 🤣

Helen was the very last one I watched - I was absolutely furious when she won 😖.
I remember not liking Grace back in BB7 and then thinking she was a class act compared to what came next.
I can't believe how invested I was in what was essentially brilliant editing.

whynotwhatknot · 17/09/2023 23:33

i was going to mentio helen but my hatred still hasnt lessened

what was worse was bb letting her carry on bully people and say vile things all for entertainment

i heard she was warned 30 times in the dr but nothing happened then somehow she won
