Do you have a Gavin and Stacey quote for everything?

Following on from a similar thread about Friends quotes, I thought of start one about G&S.

What quotes do you regularly say from the show?

Here's some we (husband) say often:

When something happens that we don't expect "It's not what you expect when you go to [place] in the [time]."

"Oh my christ" to everything.

If husband is being annoying "You and me and going to fall out today Micheal"

These are the ones from top of my head.

Sometimes we still use Oy and we sometimes say whats occurring to our teens in the house.

Can’t remember the exact quote but when ordering a meal in a restaurant or ordering a takeaway with friends. DH says well we are like Nessa and Smithy we are not sharers. Very useful if anyone suggests we can all order whatever and all share. We don’t eat as much as them two or anywhere near but we have fallen foul of someone ordering nothing we liked and then going on expecting to eat half of ours. So it has been the most used and most quote in our household.

"Oh I don't know Bryn"
When We're feeling fed up

MidnightRunning · 14/08/2023 15:48

When the dog starts barking it's always "oh, what's your beef? Sorry Pam, tofu". Any dish needing cheese brings out the Midge-ure cheddar quote (also, anything with garlic is comma garlicky from Friends). Any crooner on the radio is followed by "he's got a cracking voice". I'm also very proud of my Nessa impression, the pipe at Easter/cigar at Christmas especially 😂

I mean ALWAYS, when ordering takeaway (though it is a visual of Smithy's hand asking if they are going to share)..

I was serving teas and coffees yesterday and a lady came up and asked for "Half a cup of tea, and half a cup of coffee" Grin

My mind went straight into Key / Toffee references, but I didn't think she'd have a clue what I was talking about.
Disappointingly, it turned out she wanted 2 x small drinks and not a mix.

It's the drama Mick, I just love it.

And

Collio Iglesias

Or Irn Bru - what if they haven't got any. "Go somewhere that has" 😆

wickermum · 14/08/2023 20:18

I'm Not Being Funny [Stacey] But You Wanna Get A Life. What You Said Just Now Was Really Boring

Yep-we often say, …’-and then I had a banana’ if DC are rambling on!!

‘Don’t be a twat, Stace’ is another favourite!

and ‘ours is not to wonder while’!

WizardinTraining · 14/08/2023 20:28

So many of these! When we’re talking about something that doesn’t turn out be be as exciting/promising as first thought we always say ‘just hats and t-shirts really’ 😂

WizardinTraining · 14/08/2023 20:28

We basically talk in quotes from G&S or Friends for a substantial part of our lives 🤦🏻

bingojuice · 14/08/2023 20:29

My dads called Dave. I greet him with "oh-Dave what's occurring" 😂

Swansandcustard · 14/08/2023 20:30

@Cupcakegirl13 yes, we’re far more on the Royals: MY ARSE, BARBERA!

mylittleprince · 14/08/2023 20:30

Anyone watching the Billericay to Barry programme?

CarolHath · 14/08/2023 21:17

I've started watching gavin and Stacey from the start again after seeing this thread. Had cheered me right up today

VioletCharlotte · 14/08/2023 21:32

"It's like living in Hollyoaks!" for when young adult DC get too dramatic.

"It's not food, food"

"I'm not being funny, but you want to get a life. What you just said was really boring"

TulipTuesday · 14/08/2023 21:40

Every time someone has made food and passes the plate over we have to say ‘You’re too good to me sweet cheeks, you are really’ Even the kids say it.

We also say ‘Forgot my turkey’ if we need to turn back for something we’ve forgotten

We adore G&S in this house. We took part in a G&S themed quiz a while back and won with 39 out of 40. I was so annoyed we didn’t get them all right, but I put Kate instead of Caitlyn for the name of their daughter 🤦🏻‍♀️

Snipples · 14/08/2023 23:49

"It's not my main present" said every Christmas/ birthday/ anytime a gift is exchanged

"You're riddled" when anyone has a cold

"Camilla Parker Bowles" said solemnly about the love of anyone's life or the royals

"What you on now Pete, tea towels? Well you're a fool" - when DH is getting anything out of the oven

Snipples · 14/08/2023 23:51

Also for royle family we can't say london without one of us saying "London, Bloody London" in exasperated tones
