Please recommend me a series to obsess over

Have been in a bit of a dry spell for a while; I am admittedly very fussy...!

I am not too bothered about genre (though comedy is least favourite); any drama really, sci-fi, thriller, historical... Though it has to have a really amazing script, well-written, believable, well-developed characters and, as a bonus, a flawed hero that I can fall a bit in love with... I do also get put off by poor IMDB scores 😅

I am a bit impatient, so if it hasn't gripped me by the first episode, I usually give up (though have given some a few episodes before doing so!).

I've just got into this was going to recommend it. Had to force myself to turn it off and go to bed so could get enough sleep for work

(Latest series of outlander has been good - much better than series 4)

The Queen's Gambit is very good. I see Money Heist is on your list and I really enjoyed that.

World on fire on BBC iplayer. Brilliantly written drama about WW2.

Gossip girl. It's a bit coming of age batshit crazy but I enjoyed it - missed it first time round as I was in middle of a divorce but glad I finally got round to watching it

On Amazon Prime Survivor Australia season 10.

@AngryGreasedSantaCatcus easy mistake to make. I broke my DDs friends heart the other day when I told her Matt Bomer was gay...never mind he is much older than her, lives in a different country and not likely to ever have had a shot with him had he been straight 😂 but she was still devastated.

I’m watching mayor of Kingstown on paramount at the minute. It’s so good. Jeremy Renner is the flawed hero.

Amazing Mrs Maisel on Amazon is hilariously funny and the attention to detail for late 50s/early 60s New York is outstanding. Fabulous clothes, music. It's a bit of a slow burner for the first couple of episodes but I was soon hooked and there's five series.

Toby Fleischman is good. I was about to give up on it after episode 1, but decided to continue. Pleased I did as its very good.

I liked a few of the Fargo series also.

Chesapeake Shores (Netflix) if you are fed up with the rainy weather here

Although I would only recommend Chesapeake Shores because of the scenery!

Schittz Creek. No one loves it at first. You have to push on through and gradually it worms its way in and then BAM, you're hooked!!
Seinfeld.
Emily in Paris is a load of fluff but it's fun and easy watching.

I am slightly obsessed with Gossip Girl and having never seen it before the start of this Summer, I’m an embarrassingly large number of episodes in! The fashion makes me smile in the early series too. Very easy watching but something about the way Serena speaks is irritating. Can’t work out what!
