@JMAngel1 Good news, there are 2 episodes to go. I never thought I would say this, but I will really miss it, and hope a third series is in the pipeline. Still lots to improve on, but it’s on the right track, and it would be a shame to stop now.

I nearly gave up at the beginning of the series, and I was only watching, as some were, as a hate watch. It's definitely improved.

I think I’m going to rewatch the last 3 episodes - lots of details I’ve missed in terms of outfit appreciation - I used to rewatch each SATC episode around 20 times back in the day 😂

I have been away and missed a few weeks. Last night, in the midst of jet lag, I watched 4 episodes until 4 am.

I have to say I am loving it - it has really found its feet. The chemistry between Aiden and Carrie is believable (unlike with Big). I want them to stay together! I could've done without the awful Y-fronts.

Miranda has ceased to irritate the crap out of me and I have warmed to Che.

Still can't bear Charlotte and her atrocious acting and face full of fillers. She is so uptight - the fact they have made her 'cool mum' that doesn't care about her daughter sleeping around or taking drugs - ludicrous.

I messaged my friend about the SATC tour, gave her a flashback too- I did it solo and she was the week after me- at the time we both had partners on hol with us who went off for an afternoon in Manhattan whilst we did the tours. Good to hear I’m not the only one who did it solo, though I’d got chatting to others before we got to the sex shop so I wasn’t awkwardly walking around it on my own!

sorry bit derailing of the thread, but has anyone been to NYC post covid lockdowns, I keep hearing it’s a very different city now and I’d love to go again but thinking it won’t be the same?

Yes, I went earlier this year and loved it. I'd not been in over a decade and it was great, albeit not as cheap as last time.

I had such a scrunchie moment when I was there. I was walking along with my now ex husband in that area of NYC, and somebody stopped me and asked me for directions to somewhere. I turned to my husband and said OMG they think I'm a local!! I was so happy

John Corbett (Aidan) is 62 and has been with Bo Derek for over 20 years. He looks hot for 62, or any age!

John Corbett may look hot (to some, not me) but he ruins it as soon as he opens his mouth. What's with the ' chello' when he walks in in the first few minutes.. the 'saloooot'.. the echo shtick in the new apartment. He is exhausting. Was he always so ridiculously immature??

John Corbett popped up in a Disney show called Rebel last year (year before?) and he was really hot in that. I think his appeal has always been how manly he seems. He’s just huge. Looks like he could change a flat tyre without breaking a sweat. Who isn’t looking for that in a man 😅 Aidan always had this strong-man lumberjack-esque rugged sex appeal juxtaposed against the softer sweet-natured lovable persona. I think my main problem with him in AJLT is they seem to have scrapped the manly bit, and turned the lovable bit into a drip. But I do think it’s Aidan and not John Corbett.

Would recommend that Rebel show too if it’s still on they’re. Katey Segal playing a later-in-life Erin Brokovich.

I was glad to hear Bo had met a younger man after being married to someone 30 years older for so long. Her first husband was so old that he was in The Ten Commandments!

Sounds like we went the same time. I started going early 2000’s. I’m very lucky that my friends sister has lived there for forty years so she’s always taken us off the beaten track. I last went five years ago and noticed how expensive everything was. My friends sister has told us not to go back it’s horrific the street crime and homelessness plus the cost of living, I feel sad about that.

Finally caught up and my main takeaway is to laugh that they have covered Che in not just puppies but kittens to make us like the character.

@EachandEveryone I was watching on the news the other day that homelessness has reached unprecedented levels in NYC and it's costing the city $56m a week to house people. They were planning to set up camps in Central Park to deal with the issue according to this report.

I am still on episode 8, but Carrie/Aiden. I read this on another forum but makes sense.

Aiden wanted family /kids. Carrie didn't want kids particularly.

But now at mid 50s they can be together having both got what they want. Similar to say how I met your mother?

He wasn't especially great in SATC and I always wondered why he was friends with Charlotre. She was so prissy and he was so full of sarcasm and - at times - cruelty. There was nothing about the way his character was written to make him a good or desirable friend.

I always thought the thing with Anthony was yes, he’s caustic and blunt but then they throw in some real heart. In the final of SATC he was worried about losing Charlotte when she got her babies. He threw the anti semite boyfriend out of Charlottes dinner party last series. And he was visibly not happy with Stanford’s behaviour at Big’s funeral. Telling him not to talk to Carrie about ‘her look’ and disapproving of him not giving up his seat for Gloria, Big’s PA.
And he provided transport and a ‘hot fella’ to get Carrie home and upstairs after her hip op.
So IMHO I think he’s a good friend.
Yes the pithy put downs are a bit cliche but they’ve added light and shade by showing his vulnerable side.
