I’m going to be politically incorrect here but the actor who plays Brady is rather… unfortunate-looking. There is no way Lily, who’s known him all her life as a cousin (Aunt Miranda) and who’s only just had sex for the first time days/weeks before, would jump into bed with him.
It smacks of the Stanford/Anthony storyline. 2 characters of the same age/sexual orientation end up together just because.

And speaking of Anthony, however much I love the character, I don’t get why a gorgeous, almost 40 younger boy would be chasing him all over NY.

As for Aiden/Carrie… urgh. They were immature the first time round, but now that they’re nearly 60…. Why do we still get the man/baby voice and mannerisms? Seriously, the dinner scene with Seema’s guy was so embarrassing. And Carrie with her simpering…

That, and the painted on abs (and fake tan 😐) and more, reminds me exactly why Carrie always appeared to be profoundly irritated by Aidan in SATC. He was just too much then and seems worse now.

I think they'll get married in the final episode and Samantha's return will be her on her way to attend the wedding.

And then if there's a series 3, we'll see things falling apart whilst Carrie tries being a stepmother.

They're actually quite conscious of other teenagers' disapproval! Mine are anyway. Consider which school she goes to, Brady should either be loaded or gorgeous to pass the Friend Approval Test.

Yes, never got Aiden. His country boy shtick was refreshing compared to NY men, but certainly not enough to sustain a long term relationship. He was exhausting too!

There's something off about Lily and Brady anyway. I think it's them being so many years older than the ages they're portraying. I don't find them convincing teenager/20 year old.

Yeah, but Lily's going through a rebellious/piss off my parents phase. Shagging college drop out, barman Brady is the nearest Lily is going to get to a "bad boy" type. She can rebel with him, but he's safe, as she's known him all her life. She can piss off her parents, but they can't complain too much as they love Brady too. It's a pretty good bit of parental head fuckery.

He was always like that though. Honestly the kind of guy that all your friends would roll their eyes at behind you back.

@ReeseWitherfork I can't say I know the area well but I've been to the Perry St location twice. Great vibe around there and gorgeous buildings. Both times I went there was tape across the bottom steps, presumably to stop the hoardes of young women that were milling around from sitting on the steps for selfies.

Back in the day, I went on the original SATC tour in NYC, where you got to sit on the stoop! Also had a Cosmo in ‘Scout’, cupcakes from the (Magnolia) bakery were provided for a little sit down near a basketball court. I’d almost forgotten I’d done that, it was a really long time ago, but peak SATC fandom. Looking back it was a VERY good tour for fans at that time, which also included a stop at sex toy shop from the series where Samantha takes Carrie and Miranda, if I remember rightly (where we got a tour discount on lube if you bought it that day😆). I really enjoyed the Scout cocktail as everyone on the tour was from the U.K. and we all chatted at the bar. It would be very Insta friendly these days, but from memory I had an old Nokia and was using a disposable camera to take pics. I need to dig out the pictures!

the thing I find odd about Aiden is he can’t go into carries apartment because of memories of Big. Yet he’s happy for Carrie to buy a new place with Bigs money….

In defence of Aiden when he first appeared, he was a hot, successful NY designer with a spread in The Times about his work (which is where Carrie saw his picture and went after him). He was a catch, annoying mannerisms aside, and he was nothing like Big, from whom Carrie was in recovery. I doubt the other 3 would have thought badly of him. Sam would have merely seen his as a sexual conquest, Charlotte would have weighed up his financial prospects and qualities for marriage material (2 ticks), and Miranda was dating Steve, so in no position to lecture anyone on annoying, childish boyfriends.

Carrie was a penniless, it girl writer, who had been critical of the stuffy, monied world Big inhabited, and was not above being quite childish herself (eg the episode where she dumps Big at a party to go and get drunk with Jeremiah the waiter). I actually think he and Carrie were well matched in temperament, if not in interests in common, but both were from the creative and more bohemian side of NY culture. Carrie post marriage to Big became much more uptight and serious, to match her new social and financial status. Aiden also has teen boys, so remaining somewhat childish and young at heart to relate to them seems fairly normal. I think it’s quite nice that he might tease out a bit of the old, playful Carrie.

Yes, but Carrie was very much 'lady doth process too much when it came to Big's world. She wanted to be edgy and different, but chased his mother's approval and clearly liked his NY-Ness.
Aiden was way too Midwest for her.
He was Scrunchie Boy.

I really don’t think it’s memories of Big. He was very kind to her about his death and how sorry he was and how beautiful her book was. I just think it’s about how his own hopes and dreams were shattered in that apartment. We know (from Nina Katz) that the break up really effected him. What I find more annoying is that Carrie is taking all the blame, and he is taking no responsibility for pushing her to marriage when she wasn’t ready, and making it impossible for them to do anything else but split up. That was on him.

Although, having said that, Carrie said in the last episode she’s having fabulous orgasms with Aiden and thinks that’s because Big was always in the background before, holding her back. So maybe Aiden called that one right, and they would never have got married with Big around.

Me too! It was 2006 I think and enjoyed it very much despite doing it solo. Was a great way of seeing what we're then the very hip areas of NY.

I have loved the last three episodes - they have redeemed themselves! So much more in the vain of the original show - no coincidence that it’s been since Che and Miranda broke up!

As others have said, I can tolerate Che now - she’s endeared herself in the vet receptionist role. It was nice to see her having a little flirt with the kitten girl.

I am loving Carrie and Aiden back together - probably against popular opinion on here but all the squealing and play acting is adorable (loved it when the letter got pushed under the door) - it’s good to see that a couple in their 50s can still have some fun (wish my DH was more like this 😂). I also loved Aiden’s enthusiasm for the film director guy - what is wrong with Seema - he is gorgeous!!!!

The clothes have been on point. How on earth does SJP pull off such tight fitting clothes? I loved the cream see through tight fitting dress she had on in the letter scene in the kitchen - it reminded me of the Roberto Cavali dress Aiden wanted her to throw away in The Good Fight (my all time favourite SATC episode).

I love Anthony- I think he’s holding back from the hot poet Italian because he’s feeling insecure about his potential prowess with such a younger guy - major avoidance tactics - he needs a heart to heart with Carrie or Miranda.

I feel like Nya is massively sidelined. We rarely see her with the other girls but I find her an interesting character - feel so sorry for her now her ex is having a baby.

I went on the SATC tour in 2005 - I’d forgotten all the finer details but just found a photo of me in Scout having a cocktail - God I was gorgeous and young but didn’t realise it at the time! Isn’t that always the way. One thing I would like to know is what the hell SJP eats - I’m guessing air given how her body seems to have barely changed at all from SATC days! How she pulled off that cream mesh dress was incredible.
