I'm a huge Kermode fan, met him in person years ago and managed to get part of the SATC film rant out of him in person. It was glorious. He's always openly admitted that TV watching isn't his thing, so he won't have seen SATC the TV show. Part of me wanted there to be a SATC3 film just to see him explode...

Mentioned upthread that the kid who played Tate isn't SJP's real kid, I'm sure I read that it was and that's why the reaction from the baby is so relaxed and excited to see her.

Reading this thread, I feel like I need to watching everything again starting at s1, ep1 then the films and then AJLT all over again!! I don't remember half the stuff you guys do! 🙈

@memoriesofamiga SJP’s son was born in Oct 2002 so although he could’ve appeared in s6 as baby state, SJP confirmed in an interview in 2020 that he didn’t.

@Netaporter that's so weird though, I definitely read it somewhere that it was her kid. I might have to dig out my book of SATC guide to the TV series, I think it might have been in there. If she says it wasn't then it can't be, I imagine she would know! But the fact so many fans thought it was her kid implies it was written somewhere at the time.

I just pretend SATC2 never happened. I don’t know a single person who enjoyed it. What were they thinking?!

I hate watched it once with a friend who has never seen any SATC of any sort. She’d obviously heard about it over the years but clearly thought all her friends were out of their minds to enjoy it based on that film. Laurence of My Labia was (obviously) the highlight.

I think people assumed it was her baby because he was so happy to see her when she approached then it was just a rumour that got out of control

@WeetabixTowels I cannot work out how not one single person involved in the entire pre/during/post production didn't turn round at any moment and say "shit, this is a bit racist". Because it really was. So judgemental of other cultures, until they saw the fancy clothes underneath.

And there was absolutely no way that 4 women living in one of the most diverse cities in the world had never come across Muslim women before. Especially Samantha, being a PR pro. She would have known exactly how to behave in another country.

I’ve never watched the second film, I struggled through the first and that was hard enough. I’ve also erased season 5 from my memory and just about tolerate season 6 mainly for Miranda’s storyline with Dr Robert / Steve / Steve’s Ma. I feel like Carrie changed somewhere in season 4, when she dumped Aidan maybe? She went from being switched on and sassy, to an insipid caricature of Carrie.

@Muhwanda I think the whole Miranda/Steve/Steve's ma scenario was so beautifully written and acted. That scene where Miranda is bathing her and then Magda sees her and says 'what you did is love' and gives her a little kiss on the head. Miranda looks so worn out and shattered with it all. I think CN really is the most wonderful actor (see also when her mum died.) Just heartbreaking 💔
