I obviously like boring men then as think Aidan in SATC was utterly gorgeous- ok in this too with my 20 year older eyes but would look better with a few pounds on him

I could see Bigs appeal but not sure I would have trusted him

I never found Big appealing at all but I agree with those saying it’s ridiculous for Carrie to now think Big was a mistake. She waited around for him and chased him when she could, she always loved him and ended up having a long marriage before he died. It was never a mistake.

No idea why Aiden would want to touch her with a barge pole now. She was truly awful him and he bored her! He tried to change her too. It will probably all end up as a mess again once the orgasm haze has lifted.

Side note - I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks Miranda sounds weird now. Her voice is so off compared to SATC! I don’t know why though.

I thought that there was a look between Aiden and Seema when she walked in. Did anyone else notice the way he looked at her? To me it looked like she had turned his head or there was something else....

I don’t think there’s anything in the Seema/Aiden thing.

Also she wasn’t looking at pictures of Aidan, just Norfolk cottages. The reason she gave Carrie a quizzical look was because Carrie said she was going to start commuting to Virginia, and Seema is wondering ‘erm excuse me what about the Hamptons trip?!’

I mean the way Aidan looked at her as she walked in the restaurant and the way she looked at him. Looked like a moment between them.

Or he had heard about what she'd said to Carrie and she knew he probably had.. so it was a look to acknowledge that.

I think Berger was the hardest bit to understand in the whole of SATC for me - not Carrie's type at all to start with, not hot, and why anyone would give that whiny sulky arse of a man the time of day was always beyond me.

I am settled right in to this series now, and although I get all the issue above I would say that for the last three episodes, I have actively enjoyed it. Never thought I'd say that after Season 1, let alone after the first episode which surely must be one of the worst episodes of television ever.

Smith was indeed lovely. The way he waited for her after she went off with Richard in the lift knowing full well what she had done...to make sure she got home safe. Not many would do that!
And as a PP said: God I miss Samantha! I wonder if she'd given AJLT the green light, what she would have been written like. I dread to think!!

Carrie met Berger at a time in her life where she described herself as “palpably lonely”, and when her very unexpected book writer career came to her - stands to reason she would accessorise her knew self with another writer. It was another example of diving in head first and love bombing with someone she barely had anything in common with, too quick and inexplicable declarations of love, followed by nothing at all after Post It Day. No mourning the loss of the love and the relationship. No tears. Just brief anger and then nought else. I personally would like to see what happened to him and hear why he disappeared, if anything, just to provide a bit of drama and see how Carrie copes with seeing him again.

There’s a trailer on YouTube for the next episode. Whoever predicted it may happen, just as with ‘ex Mrs The Russian’ in Paris, congrats: Carrie is indeed asked to meet Aidan’s ex wife for coffee.

I keep thinking of that line from Matthew McConaughey when they go out to LA & he’s getting in to character as Mr Big- ‘that’s bullshit Carrie & you know it!’ Then he says ‘that’s acting.’ He’s so funny in that episode.

And this is when it will all start to go wrong for our lovebirds.

When it comes to Aidan, it doesn’t take much to scare Carrie away. I just think the combination of “rustic” farmhouse, noisy teens and an ex-wife being totally cool with the new relationship will send her running back to NY.

Isn't Aidan really wealthy now? So he might have some sort of ultra luxe farmhouse. Or did I make that up?

@Ilovealido MM is one of my least favourite actors but that scene is genius. I swear he ad libbed half of it!

There was a reference to him selling his furniture company to West Elm. Presumably for a decent amount.

Think I’ve seen same trailer- doesn’t Seema look like she’s showing Carrie a new apartment? Carrie declares she’s selling her apartment. I’m assuming it’s linked to Aidan.
Trying to remember if she sold it before and Big bought it back for her didn’t he, when she didn’t like that apartment they got together…or have I imagined that and I need to Google fact-check that one?

I think she was going to sell it when they were going to buy pre-wedding but then wedding was cancelled and Miranda sorted out scrapping the sale (I think)

this is gonna go one of two ways:

1, no more series of AJLT. THE apartment is central to EVERYTHING!
2.The Aidan thing won’t last.

Will be interesting to see what happens. Aidan looked smitten when he saw Seema walk into the restaurant and her look sort of acknowdged his look.
Hope there will be a third series. I love Seema and Che without Miranda.

He is looking good.

Honestly, Aidan was irritating enough the first time (I can’t stand the way he speaks) and they’ve brought him back. Why?? The actor looks weird too, like a Ken doll.

I was so cross when Carrie referred to BIg as a mistake. I liked big! They had great chemistry. And quite frankly Carrie was frequently as irritating as big - she was very needy in the original series.

she’s gone back to referring to John as big as it works so well for the “big mistake” lines.
