But of course the big question is, will Arabella Weir move in two doors down?

The writers have a problem indeed. Either rehash old storylines or invent completely unrealistic ones. The quads. Wow that will pull the viewers in! Then oops how do we continue with them? Social housing doesn't seem to exist on Corrie but by now in the real world Gemma and her brood would be in at least a 3 bedroom property. Wet lettuce Chesney needs a rocket up his backside too.

The one redeeming scene of late was Paul and Bernie's tearful and very emotional one. So realistic. I think it's called acting. Daisy/Gail/black builder bloke/and most of the rest of the cast, take note!

The quads storyline IMO was a spur of the moment thing. They never thought how to make it realistic, now they are stuck with it.

Just been watching some classic Corrie, thanks to this thread. Blimey, it’s a completely different programme isn’t it. I stopped watching around 2003 and didn’t start again until 2018, had forgotten how funny it used to be. Fred Elliott and lovely Vera and Jack. Norris, Blanche, Betty. A bustling Rovers. It’s lost all its charm.

It makes me weep with despair at what its become.

As for Sean, all he ever does is flounce around and act like a diva. Give it a rest you tart.

Mollypolly2610 · 05/08/2023 22:05

Where is Sean's son? Did he go back to his mum?

Hardly ever see Sam now does he still play chess with Roy?

I know! All this nonsense with Gemma appearing at the foot of the stairs, Chesney saying 'did they go down all right?' and Gemma replying 'yeah sweet as a nut' ...

It's idiotic.

Do you know - and this isn't exactly relevant Blush - but he's apparently an absolute HORROR in real life.

I heard that too. Wasn't there something about him and the Fizz actor bullying crew members?

eggandonion · 06/08/2023 17:42

Several characters haven't been around much recently. I hope they aren't building up to a spectacular episode like the sink hole event.
Poor Johnny though. They have resurrected his memory recently. And even Aiden.

JellyBeanFactory · 06/08/2023 19:09

Speculation only - I don't read spoilers...

But do we think the Rovers is heading for new owners? Who would you like to see behind the bar? Maybe Jenny will go into partnership with someone? Or perhaps the residents of the Street could buy it as a cooperative?

WiddlinDiddlin · 06/08/2023 19:49

I did wonder if we might see the pub becoming community owned... mm!

Or maybe the ridiculous story involving Gemma and Chesney and henry newton is going in that direction with them all moving into the pub to make it a community family friendly pub.... that then goes tits up as those two have way more on their plate than they can handle anyway.

eggandonion · 06/08/2023 20:29

Is the factory a cooperative? It was?
I don't think I would go into a pub owned by all the ex prisoners and mass murderers.

Half the shares are owned by the workers.

Carla gave them to them

Then she bought the other half

eggandonion · 06/08/2023 23:02

Does Carla still work in the factory or did she sell to Rufus Sarah Stephen Owen or Michael? Nobody seems to be in charge or working?

WiddlinDiddlin · 06/08/2023 23:36

Owen pulled out after seeing the books, Stephen hasn't bought it yet, not a bloody clue how it still functions, despite Sarah always being there and yet doing absolutely bugger all!

Heliotroper · 07/08/2023 07:49

What about her truly amazing sales pitches?!?!?

AutumnCrow · 07/08/2023 08:21

And Nina’s designer role?

She seems to have gone back to buttering barms full-time.

eggandonion · 07/08/2023 08:30

Sarah has meetings and takes calls.

I hope Jenny stays as landlady. She's always seemed destined for that role and is good in it. Maybe Glenda could come into money and buy a share. She's fitted right in to the barmaid role.

Heliotroper · 07/08/2023 13:17

I feel sorry for poor Glenda. She is torn between accepting a rent rise and flat hunting but her brother never offers to let her stay at his empty house.

AutumnCrow · 07/08/2023 13:23

I love Glenda.

To put Glenda in the money, she'd have to win the lottery or something though? Or she persuades her brother to sell / remortage his empty house and buy the pub leasehold. Or he carks it and leaves her and Eileen his money, and they go with Jenny as a triumvirate of landladies.

I'm preferring the triumvirate of landladies in my head, but I quite like George and Todd together so don't want him to die.

TellingBone · 07/08/2023 13:32

Oh no we can't let George go.
