Late to this… persevered through it but god, it’s awful. Miranda is sooo annoying. All the woke stuff is just so trite.

I am kind of interested in Carrie’s storyline so will watch to the end but I’m not sure why!

I lost the hate-watch thread, wondering if this is it.

Agree about the personality change of Miranda!

I think it's probable they've all had a little filler and Botox, but Charlotte's lips! It's impacted on how she speaks.

I was terrified of Che but not remotely for the reasons MPK may be assuming!

Same. I practically needed therapy after watching the kitchen scene where Che deep breathed into Miranda’s face as Miranda honked like a dying seal 🤮

IJustHadToLookHavingReadTheBook · 04/06/2023 12:38

Checking in to hate watch series two.

I did actually like some elements of series one (Big being dead at the top of the list, always thought he was horrible) but I'm struggling with the idea of Aidan being back. Have some self-respect my dude, she only wants you now because Johnny P's dead!

Whenwillglorioussummercome · 04/06/2023 13:57

I really disliked Aidan the first time round. A Nice Guy IMO. Bleurgh.

Noshowlomo · 04/06/2023 14:14

“I’m Mexican Irish non binary” how many times could she fucking say that. Absolute twat of a character and not at all funny. Used to love Miranda, and now she’s just a twat as well.
Charlotte has become a caricature of her former self

Rotormotor · 04/06/2023 14:37

I can’t stand Charlotte’s kids either

Just rewatching this in preparation for the new series - that kitchen scene is so GRIM a and would be regardless of gender! Poor Carrie and her soaked sheets.

aqiarious · 06/06/2023 13:39

Aidan was just too much. Stifling if I remember.

Agree the kitchen scene, and poor Carrie in the wet bed, was a low point. 🤢

coloursquare · 06/06/2023 13:43

And yeah - Aidan was a bit creepy tbh.

LadyWhineglass · 06/06/2023 14:09

I don’t mind Che but I also see that character as having had a quick fling with Miranda, not a LTR with someone whose personality has dissolved into a blancmange.

EachandEveryone · 06/06/2023 15:03

Yes I thought it would just be a fling as well. I actually enjoyed season one the more it went. So glad for Anthony being there to talk some sense re Charlottes daughter. Lets hope she still is a daughter in Season 2. I dont like everyone slagging it off as Im terrified it will be cancelled! I still love the clothes and New York.

I'm here to jump on the hate watching train.
Did anyone else read that Samantha is BACK???

Have I made this up, or did someone say she’s appearing in the next Emily in Paris as a PR person I.e. Samantha, in a crossover role?

NeedToThinkOfOne · 06/06/2023 15:15

I despised the narrative that despite living in NYC so long, they were all just discovering that other people lived there. The cringe dinner party hosted by Charlotte where Harry spoke about his favourite black authors…and was behaving awkwardly as host, Charlotte briefing him about how to act around their new friends, wtf? Miranda was just a parody. Che? double wtf, wtf, for them. Only Carrie and Anthony survived as characters from the previous seasons.

It was just another instance of how Miranda had a personality transplant as Old Miranda would never be such a disgusting inconsiderate fuck with no remorse or embarrassment at being caught.

I love! Sara Ramirez, wonderful full on beautiful character in Greys Anatomy, but Che, oh fuck no

simonthedog · 06/06/2023 16:47

Aidan was married with 3 kids last time we saw him.

Yes! We never saw his wife in SATC or the films. I wonder if she will make an appearance.

[To Carrie] "She always kept one eye on you - the one that got away"

coloursquare · 07/06/2023 10:29

Just rewatching the episode which includes Miranda using her vibrator while talking to Brady through the door. WTAF?!?!

Needhelp101 · 07/06/2023 14:51

Jumping in to hate watch too!

I rewatched the first series and liked it better. I think as an examination of grief it's actually good (SJP is a very good actor and the scene with her and Natasha is a masterclass).

But the rest of it, my God.

Needhelp101 · 07/06/2023 14:51

Let's just hope for a LOT of Anthony.

thebellagio · 07/06/2023 16:04

I didn't think I could hate Che more until MPK started proclaiming that we were all scared and needed to be educated. No mate, you and your writers were shit and didn't create a fully fledged character.

I've been watching some old episodes of SATC and it just doesn't compare. Yes there are problematic issues that should be tackled, but the way it's been handled by the writing team was just absolutely horrendous. The fact that the ENTIRE WORLD was unified in their hatred of Che should be a sign that THEY got it wrong.

The only two characters not ruined were Anthony and Stamford (RIP Willie Blatch)

tribpot · 07/06/2023 18:59

I thought marrying Anthony and Stamford to each other was a huge let down, and really a sign of how dire things were going to get in SATC2. But at least their characters weren't miraculously altered in something entirely different.

Whenwillglorioussummercome · 07/06/2023 19:24

Except I guess that their characters would never have got together really. It was like they were the only two gays in the village!

thebellagio · 07/06/2023 19:35

Oh I agree it was a ridiculous pairing

Yes totally!they were very unsuited and in a place like Manhattan irl,I'm sure both would have found a more suitable partner .
