I am so fed up with this constant, they need to speed up, they need to work faster, they are falling behind. Etc . These are home cooks, they haven’t been taught butchery skills, they haven’t been taught how to prep complicated seafood, how to temper chocolate, make fancy garnishes. They are doing their best, so give them some extra time, an extra hour of prep, maybe a commis to do some of the more complicated prep with them. It really spoils the enjoyment of watching these talented people learning new skills.

But can you wield it and still have your hands in tact?

So, while we are bored, what’s the most niche kitchen implement you own?

I'm sure I don't put my fingers in as much as this when I cook...

Now I’ve been distracted by all the chip talk on here, I want a big fat chip butty - chip shop chips, white bread, lots of butter. Bliss.

A mince masher

Allegedly kept a lot of the staff tips for himself and his wife. Also there was a lot of bullying going on in his restaurants. Physical assaults, sexual harassment and touching. A waitress who complained said a chef deliberately burned her arm with a hot baking tray.

Poor Omar. That guy has got it in for him.

@OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow I am cautious of a single use item but I confess to a mandolin, a blow torch and a set of measuring spoons.

I have fish bone tweezers. And now I feel ashamed of mocking the micro herb tweezers we have seen this series.

This round always kind of annoys me. They’re not cooking their own food, so basically it’s just a puff piece for the restaurant.
