I can't help it - I just have to make little comments all the time.... mostly to do with the complete incompetence of some of the adults....
auntie Mabels carbon footprint must be huge just why does she use her plane to go down the shops??
I'm sorry but I really don't think Mickey John would pass an ofsted inspection - no lesson planning and what school secretary does teachers marking?? and don't get me started on dr. juno who cleaned the hospital the other day... and granny murray had her mindees cleaning her house!!
and just who was the idiot that employed pc plum?? the man is a buffoon whom I witnessed tracking his own footprints the other day
I could go on...... help me please!!

Another one here who wonders how big the "pooper scooper" is for Clifford.

mehdismummy · 22/02/2008 20:46

leave sid alone he is my true love! Pmsl at sheik and max being on a register! Ds calls makka pakka bugger bugger! I love tweenies. Sorry i mean ds loves them! Did anyone know bob has twin brother called tom and he lives in north pole? I was close to tears when they reunited!

kaphc · 22/02/2008 20:53

LOL at this thread!

We too have the "I'm PC Plum" song ... as well as the classic "He's always on the scene, Fireman Sam, And his willy is bright green, Fireman Sam." Archie's "Great inventions, groovy solutions" is one of my all time favourite songs though.

As for Me Too, I find the Rudi & fake trumpet playing (Chuck or Louis?) girl's marriage even more disturbing - all those chaste pecks on the cheek! Also she is never allowed to drop their kid off at Granny Murray's - it always has to be Rudi.

I remember watching BCLC presenting "Big Brother's Big Mouth" last summer and nearly fell off my sofa laughing. Really wished I could have been in the studio audience and start a chorus of "Tidy all the bits and bobs" just to piss them off!

MisterUrbanDryad · 22/02/2008 20:58

Has anyone noticed enthusiastic Mister Maker is about everything?

And how much energy he has?

And how dilated his pupils usually seem?

Hmm...

suzi2 · 22/02/2008 21:06

DS (2.5) watches rather a lot of cbeebies. He doesn't say much, but knows all the characters etc. He also knows the schedule, including weekends and tells me what's coming next. And when someone tannoyed to calle "ext 614" in IKEA yesterday DS piped up "614 cbeebies". Never sure whether to be mortified or proud.

I guess my over-involvement came when pg with DD I started to lust after boogie pete. Thankfully it passed when she was born. Lately I haven't minded watching Sportacus doing push-ups though... . Can't take granny Murray seriously as I'm used to her being in Still Game. And Bobbi in Corrie of course. Dr Juno was spotted in one episode washing her hands, getting into her scrubs and then doing her filing then treating a patients slight cut on head. Hand washing time wasn't quite right... And nurse whatdoyoucallhim... is that a wig? He's VERY strange! LOVE Space Pirates. It's rather witty and reminds me of drunken conversations. Took me a while to get into it. Something weird between Sportacus and Stephanie... does anyone else think there's sexual tension there? And that's sooo wrong!

DD is only a year but already makes me do the birthday song and night night song. She has also been saying "night garden" for a couple of months

nancy75 · 22/02/2008 21:08

back to big cook little cook (i think i am obsessed with this programme) today they had the gingerbread man as their one and only customer and they decided to cook him.....gingerbread men?!? surely the last thing he would want to eat?

StressTeddy · 22/02/2008 21:13

Miss Hoolie is defo. a bit of a trollop - she invited most of the men off the island to go to the beach with her and then forgot who she had invited

Also, Edie McCredie does look as if she may have a drinking problem; which is a worry as she seems to be the only nominated driver for the entire resort

suzi2 · 22/02/2008 21:16

Oh and does poor Postman Pat not have any other clothes?

chrissnow · 23/02/2008 09:25

hazeyjane - I think Upsy Daisy looks like Geri Halliwell!!

TillyScoutsmum · 23/02/2008 11:29

Nancy - I think BCLC have a bit of line in cannibalism ... they did ginger bread men for their gbm customer and before that, they did spinach and cream cheese snails for their snail customers... Weird

I remember a thread on here a while ago talking about Upsy Daisy being "mixed race".. WTF ?!! If she is mixed race, what on earth does that make Iggle Piggle ??

Me Too made me laugh the other day when Bobbi insisted her ds was woken up to watch a programme at midnight about urban wildlife. Do they not have sky plus ?!

I really need to get out more ....

thinner · 23/02/2008 12:17

OK, I was just wondering if any one knows...

  1. Is the blind market stall holder meant to be blind? I mean, do Granny Murray and crew know that he's blind but just ignore it, or is he a blind actor pretending to be able to see?

  2. Is the larger lady in storymakers the same actress who plays big lesbian in "Shamless" ? Looks a bit like her.

RedJools · 23/02/2008 12:44

yes! Rosetta Wordsworth is indeed big Norma the lesbian in Shameless!

thinner · 23/02/2008 13:21

God that just seems so wrong! I really think that these actors in kids programmes should stick to kids programmes. Its so disturbing for the parents! Even my DS5 has noticed. My DH was watching old Red Dwarf on DAVE the other day, and my DS noticed that CAT is the same man in M.I High. (and storymakers come to think of it). It threw me just to learn that Justin/Mr Tumble is actually Jake from Tweenies. Is he actually in the costume or just does the voice over? Hmmmm...

worrymummy · 23/02/2008 16:04

very funny...

ds didn't really know about tv (or so I thought - turns out he watched loads at the childminders) until i was pg with ds2 then it was biscuits and telly all the way.

he too has moved on (?) from cbeebies and loves the wonderpets - what's going to work - teamwork! - is our favourite catchphrase along with'this is serious'. this is worrying...

Lizzybuf · 24/02/2008 15:14

worrymummy....just don't worry so, I've walked around singing the whole wonderpets song around sainsburys and laughed when I found another lady doing the same (thankfully, this time I had remembered to take the kids!)...

anyone else caught singing kids tunes when out without the kids? or shall i start looking for a shrink?...

monkeypie · 24/02/2008 19:39

Lizzybuf- i do it all the time too, don't worry.
Thinner- no i don't think justin is in the costume, i think he does the voice for doodle too.
Suzi2- i agree about spacepirates, when it was first advertised i thought it would be too old for DS 3yrs but he loves it. We constantly burst into chorus of nah nan nan nah nah-SpacePirates. We also love the 'who's calling' song.. could be a girl or a monster or an educated lobster... etc!
I know i shoud put an embarrassed face up round about now but you know.... Im actually not. If you can't be a fool with your kids then with who?

mehdismummy · 25/02/2008 01:19

what do you mean justin is jake from the tweenies. Surely not? I am in shock! I demand to know the truth! I hate in the night garden.

monkeypie · 25/02/2008 20:12

Justin is also a voice of one of the trucks in Finley TFE! Gets everywhere he does.

nct73 · 25/02/2008 20:44

We absolutely adore ITNG in this house. We recorded loads on the DVD player so can play at any time as always calms DD down (she also has the tape for at bedtime). We have shortened a couple by cutting out some of the middle so if tired she can still have an episode before bed but actually only lasts 12 min rather than half hour - she is 14 m so doesnt notice. Worryingly DD has taken UD as a role model & goes around kisses everyone & everything with that mmmwah sound.

We also love the number raps. Hilarious. but we do find ourselves humming the "goodbye sun" and "what would you do..." songs.

Pinky annoys me. What happened next? Yes that's right my head swelled to a disproportionate size to my body. I wish someone would pop it.

Havent seen it but the trailers are enough. They are crayons NOT squiggle sticks and it's a sketch pad NOT a squiggle pad. grrrr.

and don't get DP started on the new Barnaby Bear.... wrong all wrong...

TillyScoutsmum · 26/02/2008 10:10

Isn't it also Justin's voice on one of the CBeebies songs (not sure if its the washing hands one or getting dressed) ?

nct -I agree with you re: Pinky. Bloody annoying, Just f*ck off with your big idea you precocious little brat

karlou · 26/02/2008 11:22

God this takes me back. DDs 1 & 2 are 9 and 6 and so I've not seen cbeebies for a while (and we've got rid of Sky so no more Nick Jr/wall to wall Hannah Montana and Suite Life!!) but I well remember watching Bob and making up detailed scenarios involving Bob and Wendy's unspoken love for one another, threatened by the woman whose name I can't remember who obviously wanted Bob to show her he could lay more than bricks

I used to wonder how Jelly and Jackson could be so cheerful on so little sleep too. After all they'd been watching the children in the library all day then at at midnight they're still awake and ready to imagine all those stories.....kind of explains Blue Cow maybe?!

I worried about Dogsby too - he was obviously bullied in the workplace and Mukka and Tigs just kept him sweet enough with shinies so they could keep on picking on him. The poor thing evidently needs counselling although perhaps his I Can Do It song is a step in the right direction - positive affirmation and all that!

DD3 is 4 months so I guess I'll be starting all over again so - intrigued to see Me Too now.

Oooh just remembered, dh was flicking through the channels a while ago and came to Nuts TV so we watched BC interviewing women in hot pants and crop tops whilst they rode bucking broncos...

mummyfrog · 29/02/2008 22:10

Ha, I've just come across this and felt compelled to join.

We went to Disneyland Paris a few months back and saw Justin and he was there kissing his girlfriend. It just isn't right!! I could not get the kids too close as they were covered in toffeeapple. He looked a bit embarrassed that he had been noticed but you got to DLP then surely you are going to get seen by kids?!

Tweenies, notice how you never see Judy and Max together. We reckon it is the same person!!

Poy is Po in Teletubbies!

I reckon Poy & Chris are a couple as they are generally on as a couple and she is a bit too familiar in how she touches him but my mate reckons he is batting for he other side. I am not too sure but they tend to do daytimes in the week and Andy & Sid the weekends!!

Andy rides a pink bike so not sure which way he is swinging but he is way too happy for my liking!

I am sick of cbeebies after 5 years, my son is ASD and if anything else is on he has a massive tantrum so it is just not worth it. I love the days he is in morning nursery so I an have an hour and a half of silence!

lottiejenkins · 01/03/2008 16:28

Dont know if anyones already mentioned this re Miss Hooley and PC Plum. When there was a wedding episode Miss Hooley was the bridesmaid and PC Plum best man(in his uniform) and they had a kiss at the end of the episode!!!

cybermonkey · 01/03/2008 17:56

Why in Bob do the machines talk but animals not?

why are they aways surprised to see Robbie Rotten? Is it just me or is Setpahnie a little disturbing espicailly as she gets older.

Monkeybird · 01/03/2008 18:32

Genius thread...

CBeebies (and Nick Jr and all the other Sky-shite) frequently exercise our sad little adult brains in our house.

There was an ITNG thread sometime ago when someone posted this link, which had me pissing myself for days
