I can't help it - I just have to make little comments all the time.... mostly to do with the complete incompetence of some of the adults....
auntie Mabels carbon footprint must be huge just why does she use her plane to go down the shops??
I'm sorry but I really don't think Mickey John would pass an ofsted inspection - no lesson planning and what school secretary does teachers marking?? and don't get me started on dr. juno who cleaned the hospital the other day... and granny murray had her mindees cleaning her house!!
and just who was the idiot that employed pc plum?? the man is a buffoon whom I witnessed tracking his own footprints the other day
I could go on...... help me please!!

Little Cook is also a raging megalomaniac. He has a whole book of stories in which he "saves the day yet again". Okaaay Little Cook, whatever you say....delusions of grandeur

And I'm frequently bothered by the inconsistencies in scale as items are handed between Big Cook and Little Cook.

I'm with you on ITNG songs - intro song makes me think of children/babies dying and always makes me cry. Love the tittifers though and adore the tune with the roundabout thingy, me and ds aged 16 months sway along to it!

TillyScoutsmum · 22/02/2008 11:47

And.. what are the appendages on Macca Pacca's head (and bum) ?? Are they nipples ? Turds ? What ?

TillyScoutsmum · 22/02/2008 11:48

Anyone seen Squgglit (sp ?) Why does he call crayons Squiggle Sticks ? They're crayons FFS !

chrissnow · 22/02/2008 12:04

Don't get me started on sodding Squiglet. My dd1 has said crayons/pencils since she was 1(ish) Now she asks for squiggle sticks.

No1ErmaBombeckfan · 22/02/2008 12:09

Is Granny Murrays home so far off the beaten track that directions have to be asked every time they leave the door and what they have to do when they get to work....

I would get the water checked.....

chrissnow · 22/02/2008 12:13

Underground Ernie - Which of the tube stations is it that comes up at the fairground or beach? It confuses the hell out of me. Fair enough I'm not a Londoner but I thought the Underground was . . . well. . . . underground?

RedJools · 22/02/2008 12:26

Love this thread- these are the kind of conversations that dh and I have while watching, until we realise how sad we sound!! Took me ages to think where I'd seen Rosetta Wordsworth on Storymakers- she is fat Norma the lesbian from Shameless! I couldn't wait for dh to get home so I could tell him- sad sad sad! I hate ITNG with a passion! Where is the storyline?? We are big fans of Justine, but bit suspicious of Sid and Andy- bit smiley for my liking, and that rap- hilarious! Bob the builder sometimes surprises me by talking about things like re-pointing (eh?). My kids seem to like the numberjacks, although dd did shout "Mummy- there's the number-taker!!" very loudly in a shop recently, on seeing a tall man in a light coloured raincoat (whoops), but it doesn't make a lot of logical sense, does it? Spooky spoon and the Problem Blob are hardly mathematical constants!! As for Me Too- why does Dr Juno dress like a clown? And who looks after Bobbi's son after she finishes cleaning the buses and nicks across to Weatherfield to make kebabs?

YOu never see cbeebies Andy and Mika in the same room do you?

RedJools · 22/02/2008 14:34

Forgot to mention my pet gripe- Brum!! The stupid car that defies all the laws of physics as it takes on the most idiotic of criminals! Did you see the one where he managed to catch a runaway boulder by letting it drop on him??? I was ecstatic thinking that must surely be the end of Brum, but he somehow wasn't crushed to oblivion- he must be made of some alloy invented by NASA!

cookiemonstress · 22/02/2008 16:24

I've always wondered whether there has been a tiff between Chris and Andy? You rarely see them together these days? Thank god we see less of Sarah Jane these days.. Slightly ashamed that dd2 (16 months) can say three words, one of which is 'chris' accompanied by much pointing to the screen. DD1 wants to marry Justin (after Daddy).

figra · 22/02/2008 19:50

Genuine conversation over coffee with friends:
Me: My oldest is convinced Wendy and Bob are having a baby.
Best friend 1: Really? I always felt Wendy was of an alternative persuasion.
BF 2 : No, she's clearly a post op transexual, that's why she always wears high necklines, it's to cover up her adam's apple.
Me: But isn't she sleeping with the mayor? I thought that was why Bob always gets all the municipal jobs without ever having to go to tender.
DH : No, no, he does go to tender, it's just that he can undercut everyone else's bids, due to having no payroll. Basically, his entire workforce is made up of satanically possessed machines. He's buggered if an excorcist ever comes to Sunflower Valley, though.

Who needs Desperate Housewifes??!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 22/02/2008 19:51

Numberjacks reminds me of Mitchell and Webb's Numberwang.

PortAndLemon · 22/02/2008 19:54

I always reckoned that Wendy is the brains of Bob The Builder, and that Bob is just a front name. Rather like Remington Steele, for those who are as old as me and remember that show...

figra · 22/02/2008 19:56

Oh God, PortandLemon, do I ever remember. I have a very distinct recollection of looking at Pierce Brosnan, and thinking "Ahhh, so THAT'S what boys are for ..."

MrsTittleMouse · 22/02/2008 20:15

Hurray!
Other people who think that Granny Murray is creepy, I thought it was just me.
I have been known to shout at the television that if they're all Nina's neurons then they should all be GIRLS!!!!

3Ddonut · 22/02/2008 20:20

I really find the song for Clifford disturbing 'Emily's love made Clifford grow so big'

ITNG, we don't watch it much but I used to like the music, now it just makes me feel sad.

hazeyjane · 22/02/2008 20:37

I'm terrified of Granny Murray, and 'Claude', I've got a bit of a problem with shop room dummies after "Silence of the Lambs".

A friend pointed out that Iggle Piggle looked like Robbie Williams, the other day, and I have been trying to work out who Upsy Daisy looks like ever since. I'm sure I used to use my brain for more important things, but sadly I can't remember what.

lorisparkle · 22/02/2008 20:39

So glad someone started this thread. I've been meaning to for ages.

I also find the whole tweenies set up rather odd and they call it the tweenies nursery so the 'child minding' angle does not quite work.

Jakers drives me demented - am I confused or was baseball really the main sport 50 odd years ago in Ireland.

Has anyone ever made anything from 'Mister Maker'? I've worked with children for 20 odd years and have never got normal paint to cover plastic / sellatape / foil and prittstick only really ever seems to stick paper together not fluffy things.

Now the position of those hand puppets and wots his face in Doodledoo is all very wierd to me. The other day one was positioned just below is groin - quite distrurbing

I find it also very odd that all these trains arrive from Japan, New York and Paris in Underground Ernie.

I try and limit my DS1 tv watching to 2 hours a day but still seem to watch too much. I also love the blue cow stories and can often be heard singing 'blue blue cow'. Dh and myself will often discuss the weirdness of cbeebies but then will often be watching it whilst DS1 has gone off to play with the plug sockets (or whatever he does!)
