I can't help it - I just have to make little comments all the time.... mostly to do with the complete incompetence of some of the adults....
auntie Mabels carbon footprint must be huge just why does she use her plane to go down the shops??
I'm sorry but I really don't think Mickey John would pass an ofsted inspection - no lesson planning and what school secretary does teachers marking?? and don't get me started on dr. juno who cleaned the hospital the other day... and granny murray had her mindees cleaning her house!!
and just who was the idiot that employed pc plum?? the man is a buffoon whom I witnessed tracking his own footprints the other day
I could go on...... help me please!!

And one of the Storymakers is actually a cat/ human hybrid from Red Dwarf - but I don't hold that against him

mumclaire · 18/02/2008 22:30

Moo-err!!! Why does everyone know these people by their names and not blink about letting them have access to all areas?? Oh hello granny murray, auntie mabel, blue cow - please come and look around our factory and have a go at.... my postman would think I was barmy if I asked if we could go with him... noticed auntie mabel got in free to london zoo the other day

oh yes - the tweenies - just how little and incompentent supervision is there in this supposed nursery??? Max is another buffoon who should not be allowed near anything - I want a tweenies episode where max gets put in a retirement home...

I'm in Leeds, Lazarou, I would love to bump into her!

lazarou · 18/02/2008 22:45

You'll know her when you see her, she's the one munching on grass and looking like mutton dressed as lamb

Feenie · 18/02/2008 22:48

Yes, it is the really old thin one that shakes!

Feenie · 18/02/2008 22:49

Lol

mumclaire · 18/02/2008 22:49

Does she wear bright red lipstick and heels that clearly too big???
Actually out of interest - does it confuse your dc?? I know my dd would either call blue cow granny or granny blue cow - not sure wots worse!!!

oh - just thought of another one - 'take a bow' where do they dig up some of these bizarre dance/singing groups??

lazarou · 18/02/2008 22:55

Well she does think she's the bees knees. Her husband is 92 and doesn't get a word in edgeways. Although I'm sure they still 'do it' cos he always has a smile on his face and walks funny. Mind you, I don't think he has much choice.

hifi · 18/02/2008 22:55

they had the video for village people and ymca on sat, dd was transfixed, wonder what she thaught?

lazarou · 18/02/2008 22:58

I don't like space pirates. Those jingles annoy me and also that twat dominic burn seems to be on the tv a bit too much for my liking.

bilblio · 18/02/2008 23:17

I'm taking great delight in the fact that my DD thinks the best thing on telly is the Beep beep beep beep filler tunes on News 24. She's only 7mo so I'm still able to avoid CBeebies, I have put it on occasionally for her but thankfully she shows a healthy disinterest. Granny Murray scares me though.

We always said we'd tell her the kids TV channels didn't work at our house, and we have a healthy stack of DVD's like Bagpuss, Willo' the Wisp & Mr Benn for her when she does start paying attention.

GooseyLoosey · 18/02/2008 23:27

Oh, I had forgotten about Space Pirates. I think up elaborate excuses to avoid that one its awful. I must admit to quite liking Little Red Tractor, it has actually made me laugh on occasion, but unfortunately the dcs do not.

The dcs love the numberjacks, but I am always left baffled by the solutions they come up with to the problems - they never make the slightest sense to me.

bookwormmum · 18/02/2008 23:33

I'd love to know where the pink pig goes who sits at the back of Blue Cow's bus [sad emotion].

Plus if I were Blue Cow then I wouldn't bother going back to that field. They never believe her. Unless they wait for her to go and then all rush down the pub...!

snotbuster · 18/02/2008 23:43

Has no one else noticed that Granny Murray is (IMO) far too young to be a Granny?

I liked Space Pirates but DS was having none of it - even after I made him a pirate's hat out of a cornflakes packet to encourage him to watch it with me.

madamez · 18/02/2008 23:59

I love space pirates and so does DS - to the point where he was asked what song he wanted to sing at P&T and he said 'Space Pirates'. Of course this all went a bit wrong as no one else knew it, so I had to sing it and DS got embarrassed and hid his face...
Re Tweenies - is it just me who thinks Max is a bit of a nonce?

dippydeedoo · 19/02/2008 00:38

A few years ago I felt compelled to phone the BBC up to find out what the relationship was between max and judy and whether the house the tweenies were in was a purpose built house for childminding or did judy live there in the day?

well the answer i got from the bbc who found out straight away was .....that judy is the childminder it is her house ,max is her dad but she calls him max so as to not confuse the tweenies and obviously max must be a registered cm too.

No answer as to whether max was insured to whiz the twenies around in his red xr3i tho ......at this point i realised i was taking things a little too seriously lol

bookwormmum · 19/02/2008 09:45

Is Doodles a cm too?

.

bookwormmum · 19/02/2008 09:48

I've wondered in the past if the French equivalent of the RSPCA should be told that Clifford was evidently over-fed as a puppy hence him being so big now .

Keeping on the theme of France, I'm sure that the teacher-nun in Madeleine should have a few colleagues to help keep her '12 little girls in 2 straight lines' in order. it's a bad adult-child ratio.

I do like the Madeleine stories though .

Joekate · 19/02/2008 11:41

I seriously need a life! I'm finding In The Night Garden" disturbing...Igglepiggle is in the middle of the sea with no land in sight (and no food or water from what I can see)and just kind of gives up and puts the sail over him and goes to sleep and that's how he gets to the night garden - have I got that right? And then at the end he is the only one without a bed and is standing at the end of the road while a disembodied voice tells him "it's time to go". I really think far too much about this!!

mumclaire · 19/02/2008 12:23

Judy is meant to be a childminder???? That has to be the best equipped cm house I have ever seen - it looks more like a nursery to me...
Totally agree about clifford - not sure about emilys parents though moving away just because their dog is too big??
I like space pirates but don't see the point of honk and tonk... and dh can never get the zorst report song out of his head..

I think big cook little cook should be on Ramseys kitchen nightmares

He would soon tell li9ttle cook to stop walking on the surfaces

GooseyLoosey · 19/02/2008 12:29

I'm sure the decline of the rural economy would have had Fireman Sam and Postman Pat out of a job long ago (not to mention Windy Miller). Not sure the dcs should be exposed to such blatant misuse of taxpayers' money.
And how in heaven's name are they supposed to learn about economics (not to mention environmental issues) if they see an entire steam railway network running on a small island somewhere with no visible source of income (and very irritating trains).

DaDaDa · 19/02/2008 12:37

"Igglepiggle is in the middle of the sea with no land in sight (and no food or water from what I can see)and just kind of gives up and puts the sail over him and goes to sleep and that's how he gets to the night garden - have I got that right?"

The boat and the sea are in his imagination surely Joekate? It's where he goes when he dreams. wells up

In reality he's bunked up with Upsy... "Daisy DOO!"

madamez · 19/02/2008 12:37

While I like ITNG I find there's something disconcertingly death-like about it ie Igglepiggle is dying in his little boat and the Night Garden is where he goes in the afterlife... U just have this horrible haunting vision of the theme tune being played at a child's funeral, brr.
