Oh come on, “bananas are among the UKs most wasted food”. Not since lockdown, India.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/05/2023 21:28

Even though carrot cake is wrong and terrible and shouldn't exist, Chariya's idea is brilliant and she is the one to meet the brief the best for me.

TheDogsMother · 02/05/2023 21:28

Do you remember they used to have a market stall type thing where the contestants had 10 minutes to choose leftovers and off cuts. I think I preferred that format.

Pebbledashery · 02/05/2023 21:28

I do love carrot cake

She should have made something with used coffee grounds.

Yes! That was always my favourite round.

bomanicious · 02/05/2023 21:29

Cheers for the chewing lesson Greggg, glad you were here.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 02/05/2023 21:29

How can josh look like the local camra officer from 1978 and sound like the annoying bloke in every office but cook such modern food?

Piggywaspushed · 02/05/2023 21:29

Fun fact : I am scared of bananas.

Pebbledashery · 02/05/2023 21:29

I love carrot cake too. Sorry, not sorry.

There have been proper leftovers challenges (maybe on the professional version?) where they’ve had to pick bits from the first dishes’ leftovers for the next cook

Halsall · 02/05/2023 21:30

I don’t mind carrot cake but I can take it or leave it. I like bananas but, controversially, only when they’re spotted with brown.

Sunbird24 · 02/05/2023 21:30

Also, I like carrot cake

Pebbledashery · 02/05/2023 21:30

Pink chicken is unforgivable

sorry.

I'm quite happy to sit alone on the No Carrot Cake Bench, especially if it's the No Vegetables In Desserts Bench.

Oh gosh.. Mine have to have a tinge of green in them and I'll eat them.. Anything riper goes to DD4

Anyone remember in the 80s when carrot cake was called Passion cake and had lemon cream cheese topping?

TheDogsMother · 02/05/2023 21:33

Ahh yes @Sunbird24 you're right. It was the Professionals. It was a good challenge.

Halsall · 02/05/2023 21:33

Oooh, Pebble, I cannot abide them when they're even the slightest bit green! We can just swap all our bananas then.
