Telling Bronte he was staying, was a mind game. But ultimately writing leave was the right decision. Bronte could have changed her decision on the couch once she saw he'd written leave. She didn't. It would have been better for both of them, and the viewers, if they'd gone.

Are they actually allowed to do that though? I always thought they had to stick with whatever they had written before coming into the room?

Harrison is not to be admired for writing leave. He texted Bronte beforehand that he wouldn't go anywhere and then writes leave. Who does this to their partner?

But just because your abusive partner, who you've barely known 5 minutes, says "he's not going anywhere" why would you want to stay? He's still an abusive shit who slept with a girl before his wedding, said he didn't fancy you and all the other shit, just leave fffs

@happinessischocolate It's hard to say. I suspect Bronte is not always seeing as clearly as comes across on TV, because that's what abuse does: you doubt yourself and your reality.

Some people here say she wants fame - I never see this with anyone, maybe I am naive in that way.

I do believe she does want to find the love of her life and it must be pretty hard to throw in the towel after a week after preparing for the show for months. They also keep calling this an experiment, so who knows what they tell candidates so they believe they can actually bounce back from a lot of bad stuff. It never really works. Unless couples hit it off from the start they never stay together. And even a lot that hit it off from the start end up separating.

My DH said to me that he doesn’t even know if Brontë is a nice person because all she’s doing is crying or screaming! Harrison is absolutely awful and so is Mel. Shannon just Ergh! The way he talked about Caitlin when they had to rate everyone else mad me so cross! As if he’s some sort of pile paining!

There were ones on the UK version who changed their minds on the couch. Basically they said they'd put stay but they didn't want to force the other person to stay, so they'd change it to leave. Then they both left. In theory its against the 'rules' but they let them do it.

Bearing in mind MAFS record for successful relationships, I definitely think all most of them are there for the fame/money rather than the love of their life.

I find it interesting that you can put 2 people together and no matter how unsuitable they are most will have some sort of relationship.

MAFS is better at matching unsuitable people than getting it right. Caitlin has been cheated on before so they match her with a guy still in a relationship with his ex. Janelle has finished with guys who are not financially solvent, so they match her with Adam who doesn't have a proper job. Jesse hates crystals, star signs etc so they match him with Clare who puts her crystals out for cleansing on a full moon, and knows all the star signs and their meanings 🤷‍♀️

MelsMoneyTree I think Josh is just reinforcing all of Melissa's fears. Fair enough not wanting to talk about your sex life on camera but a few weeks in and he doesn't just hold her hand, stroke her arm, touch her hair, peck on the cheek, snog on the couch. He's very emotionally and physically closed

But they started had sex on the honeymoon and the following week we saw Josh be very emotional in his "confessions" letter. I think it looks like he went into the relationship pretty openly and has then withdrawn because of the responses and expectations from Mel.

Jesse's long list of requirements and 'icks' seemed too much but tbh I would struggle to keep a straight face if my new partner started talking crystals, star signs and showed me the special crystal they'd brought along for the day. I'm fine with a slight interest but Clare seems quite extreme about it all. I can't decide what I think about her. She seems to talk to Jesse as though he's another toddler from her nursery.

I think Josh was pretty up for it at the start. I mean they were at it pretty quickly. He knows now that Mel wasn’thaving sex because she fancied him or to help the marriage. She’d have shagged anyone she was paired up with. It’s off putting to say the least.
