Thought I'd make a new thread ready for tonight's episode...we've managed to fill the first one already!

At least Claire showed some humility and regret. I did notice that Adam tried
to minimise the kiss as a drunken snog. Claire countered that with “ I knew what I was doing” which was unnecessary if she was actually being contrite. She’s definitely getting something from the drama knowing it wasn’t anything serious enough people will hate her for.
I don’t think she apologised enough for that conversation in the room where she accused him of being aggressive, jealous, insecure etc.
I think the phone call afterwards has been glossed over too. I mean a snog that means nothing but a bit of excitement is one thing. What was the chat afterwards about?

Italiangreyhound · 29/03/2023 22:11

I'm watching Homeland. Is it my imagination or does Rupert look a bit like the guy on that ...?

Chooba · 29/03/2023 22:12

@QueSyrahSyrah we noticed the awkward almost thigh touch, rewound it to make sure I hadn't made it up!

Rupert friend?

Who was the arse on the last UK one that wouldn't let his wife near his house? He had a podcast - maybe he and Adam should team up?

Kwame. He also thought a lot of himself and was dead shifty from the start.

ExtraPaddingForFallingOver · 30/03/2023 00:00

@Groutyonehereagain yes I was thinking the same about Tayla looking like Katie Price…….I really have my doubts about her being a nurse, I just can’t see it (too batshit and self obsessed) plus she had her nurses watch up the wrong way in the pre wedding bit! 😂
Hugo reminds me of Nick Grimshaw and Rupert should be shouting “ere Mr Grimsdale!!”

SinisterBumFacedCat · 30/03/2023 00:38

When I see Leyton I can’t stop thinking it’s Neil from the Inbetweeners.

AnyaMarx · 30/03/2023 01:12

You know Jesse hadn't exactly covered himself in glory here - he was shitty to Claire initially. A proper cock .

So no wonder really she kissed a guy - and let's not forget it was a bloody kiss - she did t take him home and shag him senseless.

I was warming to Jesse but this wounded bunny act is actually pissing me off because he was horrible to Claire initially and I do t actually blame her for looking elsewhere.

He can bask in the high ground now which is shame because actually he was a total cock .

AnyaMarx · 30/03/2023 01:14

And they should have thrown Twyla back in the pond before she got there

This is t an experiment anymore is it ? It's a drama fuelled ratings getter . She is an arse . Obviously. What is she doing on a show like this ?
Ratings . Obviously.

ExtraPaddingForFallingOver · 30/03/2023 02:28

Eek nearly at the end of this thread, please could the lovely person who set this one up, do your magic with another thread, pretty please?
love from Mrs Tech Phobic

Yeah, I think there is a big difference between Adam, who is an absolute snake and Claire, who is a generally decent person. Jesse said some incredibly spiteful things to Claire and told her he'd got the ick as soon as he met her. I think Jesse is complex. But yeah, it's understandable that Claire would have been vulnerable to someone manipulative like Adam.

Bellagio40 · 30/03/2023 05:50

Why does Leyton always do an exaggerated mouth like an O whenever there’s a whiff of drama? It’s putting me off 😮

Yes he was a totally arse to Clare and I don't blame her for the kiss, however it's the gaslighting that happened afterwards that has done the damage.

Jesse was made to look like a paranoid idiot when in fact his instincts had been correct.

Clare should have owned up to it the next day. She could have pointed out that he had said he had the "ick" and had been totally rude about her and her efforts to make conversation with him and she would have kept the high ground but no, they covered it up and then she revealed it now. (I do think the production team are behind the cruel way it was revealed though)

I do wonder if she doesn't fancy Jesse and this was her way of both getting some drama screen time plus breaking up the relationship.

She definitely has more morals than Adam though.

I didn’t see him telling her about the ick to be spiteful. He was explaining what was going on. It really was a case of “ it’s not you, it’s me” and he was being communicative.
I also didn’t think the sushing thing was terrible. She isn’t actually loud is she? So her being all performative in the early days really would be annoying.
Shes definitely a massive hypocrite as was happily digging into Jessie over “ the kiss” when she knew he was actually completely right about the situation. She says she’s a decent person and open and emotionally literate but clearly really not. Whereas Jessie always claims to be a fuck up but is pretty strong, He’s tough enough to admit when he’s wrong, admit he likes Claire and did give the marriage a proper go.
I don’t think Claire likes Jessie enough and never has. She’s got him wrong in the beginning and now too much has muddied their relationship.

Yes to Leyton looking like the one from the inbetweeners!

MyopicBunny · 30/03/2023 08:13

No when I say spiteful I mean the bit where he was mimicking her voice - that was nasty.

Hmmm, she still asked for many examples which he did, to be fair. Also agree as someone else said... she isn't actually really loud and full on when she's being herself so the acting loud and fun must have been really grating. To be fair she didn't try to deflect and put it all on Jesse as the reason for her kissing Adam. Unlike Adam.....

Yes it was.

PerfectYear321 · 30/03/2023 09:03

There's no chemistry between Jesse and Claire. How have they not even kissed?! 🤔

Quite. I'm getting sibling vibes.

MyopicBunny · 30/03/2023 09:15

Yeah I think one of the things that hurt Jesse the most about the Adam kiss is that she's been more intimate with him than she was with Jesse.

When Claire asked for examples about how she was annoying Jesse, he didn't have to actually mimic her voice - he chose to be nasty and hostile. I'm not sure why Jesse did this because he obviously really likes Claire, otherwise he wouldn't have been so upset about the Adam thing. Maybe he finds it hard to get close to people.

Kefir · 30/03/2023 09:18

He only started to like Claire when he realised that the other blokes fancied her.

He couldn't really have given those examples without saying them in the same way she did. And it was his own voice.

Anyway, semantics. There's no coming back from someone going off and kissing someone else when the going gets rough is there? Adam seems to have a pattern of doing that in relationships and thinking it's ok and minimising it. Weird standards in this bunch this year. They seem to think that pretty much anything is forgivable.

Kefir · 30/03/2023 09:30

The mocking of Claire was awful! He looked like a total prick. All of the problems on MAFS are due to the person just not fancying the other one and he clearly didn't fancy Claire until he realised that others did. Anyway he's got what he wanted all along now, a get out that makes him look like the good guy.

MyopicBunny · 30/03/2023 09:35

Of course he could - come on 😂
