Not 100% sure what it's about but I'm gonna give it a go and didn't see a thread.

Google tells me it's from the creators of " The Traitors" a BBC hit from late last year and spawned versions around the world.

From what I can tell there's an elevator and meant to be rich and poor people and you can rise or fall in this " society" as I say I'm not too sure but let's see if others are giving it a go or know more.

I won't be watching live though unfortunately

@saddilema It was stated at the beginning of the series that only a ruler can win it. I'd definitely be surprised if there isn't a twist though...

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 11/04/2023 10:45

I wondered if the winner would be decided by a leadership task where each leader has to choose a couple of grafters to compete for them.

Maybe a twist would be the grafters would refuse to give it their all unless they have a portion of the prize money ?

Who knows at this point

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 11/04/2023 22:07

Gone then!

RedToothBrush · 11/04/2023 22:08

No Sophie they didn't vote you because they are scared of strong women.

They voted for you because you were a cold hearted backstabbing bitch who thought she was better than the others.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 11/04/2023 22:14

@RedToothBrush

Hear hear!

rockingbird · 11/04/2023 22:19

I can't believe she thought it was because she was a threat for being a strong woman. Deluded cow

RedToothBrush · 11/04/2023 22:35

Matt's out. That 'task' for him to be ruthless was really unfair. They told him to be assertive not ruthless and the task they set didn't really give him the opportunity to be assertive never mind ruthless!

RedToothBrush · 11/04/2023 22:47

Please not Ramona. Get her off my tvbox!

RedToothBrush · 11/04/2023 23:00

Well at least they have an easy target for the final fall vote before the final

(Grumpy)

RichardsGear · 11/04/2023 23:01

Sydney has got to be the worst judge of character ever 😂.

TitsInAbsentia · 11/04/2023 23:03

Ugh...get rid of one odious character and bring in another...

rockingbird · 11/04/2023 23:03

Matt is gone for me.. I'm convinced he's a game player

It did but not in a nice way, they basically wanted him to slag someone off to their face

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 12/04/2023 09:44

Slightly irrelevant as Matt didn't make it up to the penthouse but I was thinking about who comes across as trustworthy. They are all in it to win it so will all ultimately be playing a game, so is it just that some people are better at covering up their motivations than others?

Both Matt and Eddie seem genuine but I trust Eddie more than matt

Ramona - yes she has shown a more vulnerable side in the basement but ultimately she will be ruthless in order to win now she's back up.

Moses - I like him but undecided.

Isaac - cones across as one of the most genuine and trustworthy

Rossi - I trust him as he has said things like 'if anyone deserves to win then it's Eddie' (or is that all part of the game?)

Sydney - don't have too much of an opinion on her but I don't trust her.

I guess as it boils down to the last few days then everyone who is desperate to win will become more ruthless in their pursuit of the prize. Only those who aren't hell bent on winning (I believe there are a couple) will keep their integrity

Overthinking in the night when I couldn't sleep!

Brendabigbaps · 12/04/2023 10:03

Romana showed her true colours again when she did the VT bit after she was voted back up. Lady Boss! She’ll be worse than Sophie was with being ruthless, she just does it in a sneakier way.

And I wish Sydney would learn to walk in heels! She looks like she’s had an accident!

RedToothBrush · 12/04/2023 10:09

I think both are genuine, but I think Matt is just nice, but I think Eddie is more willing to do what he can to win it.

I thought what Eddie said about Matt being 'too nice' isn't a reflection on Matt being untrustworthy. I think thats a reflection of Eddie still having something in him to throw someone under the bus.

SingTheNationalAnthemAndGoToBed · 12/04/2023 10:19

I really want Matt to win now. I hope there is a twist. I think he is the only one that deserves it really.

RedToothBrush · 12/04/2023 10:42

I think the best leaders have ultimately been Matt and Eddie.

Its really interesting, that both took on the role of doing the food in the basement. This goes back to the Big Brother house where its been commented on by many contestants that the person(s) who take on that role have always been some of the most influential / liked within the house. Its this idea of them taking on the role of looking after the others as 'the adult' with the others who stay out of the kitchen taking on the role of 'the child'. Rise and Fall is so much like Big Brother, minus the public vote in places, in its dynamic. It clearly has its inspiration from it.

Matt, was in the penthouse for some of the most rocky and challenging parts of the series and ultimately James switched votes to back Matt because he was likeable and measured in what he said. Eddie on the other hand hasn't really been tested on that side of things. He's said he won't join an alliance, which in theory leaves in vulnerable but in practice also leaves him able to 'switch sides' at will. I think Eddie clearly saw Matt as his biggest rival actually, and thats really the reason he favoured Ramona over Matt. He has a gameplan, and is doing it subtly rather than confrontationally.

The dynamic on the last fall vote before the final aren't difficult to predict either. Ramona and Moses are the two most vulnerable. What Ramona does next matters. Moses is the next most vulnerable - but thats going to take Eddie making a pitch to go for him and keep Ramona. Thats very possible but Eddie is going to have to really turn up the dial on that one to split Rossi and Isaak from Moses. He's capable of it, and this is where I do think he has that ruthless streak which he wanted to see from Matt. The streak that he's inadvertantly admitted he has. Eddie has to fight Moses at some point - either in the final or at the last fall vote, and my suspicion is that it will be the next fight in the red room.

I do think Eddie is the one who has control of the direction of the group now. Moses had it, but Rossi's backing down to favour Ramona instead of Matt shows that the power has tipped to Eddie. Sydney is so weak, she will play 'follow my leader' rather than having much of a braincell of her own.

Having said that I think in terms of the winner, last night was revealling - all four rulers were unanimous in their support of Isaak. That is going to make him difficult to beat. Isaak isn't the best leader, but crucially he is liked by everyone, and isn't involved in the testosterone battle. He's not percieved as a 'threat' either. It really depends on what happens between Eddie and Moses tonight.

I do think that the fact Isaak the last one to get to the penthouse, shows hes really not a leader, but I think that will be possibly be overlooked when it comes to the crunch, because it may come down to who offends the other rulers the least - those that get involved involved in a standoff for the last fall vote may not win because ultimately egos will set in about preventing the other most dominant character from winning if they both survive, thus letting Isaak be the winner as the compromise candidate. However if Moses does get the chop tonight, Eddie will dominant the group and probably ultimately be the winner.

I do think only Eddie or Isaak can win.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 12/04/2023 11:31

@RedToothBrush

Wow. You have dissected this and really thought about it. And I follow and agree with what you say (but not in a Sydney way)

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 12/04/2023 11:38

Though I do think that a big part of Rossi's 'flipping' was the abject fear of repeating what happened last time with the prize money rather than actually switching his allegiance. I thought it was going to be him that gave in last time but he didn't!

Yeah I think he really didn't want to make the same mistake again, which I think was the right call.

RichardsGear · 12/04/2023 11:52

I think Rossi is easily influenced and
Eddy has started to show a very different side since getting up to the penthouse.
