Not 100% sure what it's about but I'm gonna give it a go and didn't see a thread.

Google tells me it's from the creators of " The Traitors" a BBC hit from late last year and spawned versions around the world.

From what I can tell there's an elevator and meant to be rich and poor people and you can rise or fall in this " society" as I say I'm not too sure but let's see if others are giving it a go or know more.

I won't be watching live though unfortunately

OP posts:

Worst bit about the episode was watching the cutaways to interviews with contestants before the rulers had voted and knowing they were after the vote and Sophie had been picked because she was plastered in makeup whilst still in her jumpsuit and she hadn't got it on when the rulers went to the red room.

I kept noticing that!

mydogisthebest · 07/04/2023 10:34

Just catching up with last night's episode and I literally cheered when Jack was booted out. The grifters used their brains thankfully.

Stupid Sydney crying and Rossi all upset. So pathetic

VooVooV · 07/04/2023 10:47

Yes the continuity/editing (ie Sophie plastered in make-up) was just stupid.

It was really annoying that Sydney kept saying he'd only been voted out because they were a couple.

No, he was voted out because he was the ringleader of the decision to waste the 14k, took the least responsibility for it (instead blaming the only person who had the sense not to waste it all - Connor), and repeatedly said he'd run the prize fund to zero just to get his way. Did she miss that bit??

Totally! She did not understand that at all. She’s probably one of those people who thinks someone’s just jealous of her whenever she receives any criticism.

Glad Joan has gone, what a nasty piece of work.

Im wondering if Eddy will be able to be ruthless enough now he’s up there. He’s all about fairness (which is lovely), but seems unable to be pragmatic about anything…

threeplusmum · 07/04/2023 15:09

If you have an unlikeable character it's very unlikely you'd last in a show like this, unless it was fixed. All the softer personalities are still in bar a few, let's see what next week brings - the final.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 08/04/2023 16:29

I think Sophie and Eddy will go for Connor. They can justify it by saying he’s already had a turn at leading and grafting. He was also partly the reason they lost 14k .

Either that or Ramona. Again, she's had a chance at both and can be a big too much.

I think Matt will survive as he's put the work in both up and downstairs

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 08/04/2023 16:56

'Bit' too much.

lightinthebox · 09/04/2023 20:10

Joas gave me the ick after the hot tub request

Tormundsbeard · 10/04/2023 17:06

this has become interesting from a sociological perspective. As grafters they all seem likeable, have great team spirit and all get on, but once they become rulers, they appear to become almost instantly unlikeable. They stop caring about the group and become laser focussed on their own interests, backstabbing and plotting.. The gluttony is off putting too. I hope there is a series 2 so they can iron out some of the teething troubles, as I think this concept has something.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 10/04/2023 19:10

Part of the problem is the three night break from Thursday night until Monday. By this time I've completely forgotten what the tension was before the cliffhanger.

It had potential but I can't see it coming back

I can.

It's clearly based on the rich house / poor house task from the original BB series (I think they did it first in series 3).

It's definitely got better as the series has gone on. The first few episodes were slow but it's got better.

Thegoodbadandugly · 10/04/2023 22:49

Aww at Isaac's letter that made me cry.

pavillion1 · 10/04/2023 23:05

we are far to invested in this programme 😬. Moses looked uncomfortable at the end i think hes voted Rossi .

RichardsGear · 10/04/2023 23:07

I bloody hope he hasn't! He knows Sophie has been talking shit about him to Sydney - if he doesn't vote for her then he's soft in the head. I can't abide her.

RedToothBrush · 10/04/2023 23:15

Moses liked Sophie, but realised she was trying to play him. He thought they were on the same page but she fucked it

With Rossi he knows he has a majority alliance with Sydney. Why stuff that up? He knows Sydney was not going to vote Rossi. She might vote for him, but she was never going to vote Eddie or Rossi.

So it wouldn't make sense to go for Rossi.

He's looking uncomfortable because he did promise Sophie an alliance.

Meanwhile Eddie is fucking clueless and away with fairies.

Sophie completely screwed it because she thought she was clever than she actually is.

SingTheNationalAnthemAndGoToBed · 10/04/2023 23:22

It had better be Sophie. She's not as clever as she thinks she is.

RichardsGear · 10/04/2023 23:24

Yes, he (Moses) thought he and Sophie had an alliance but hopefully the scales fell from his eyes after talking to Sydney and hearing Sophie herself say she doesn't do friendships or alliances.

My TV froze right at the point Moses started to defend himself so not sure what he said.

rockingbird · 10/04/2023 23:24

What a snake 🐍

My TV also cut all sound at that point so I think it was the program not out tv's ?

bookwormcrazy · 10/04/2023 23:46

Mr tv cut out at that point too. Will have to wait to see if I can catch up on demand or something tomorrow but I have a feeling it was just about to get interesting! Hopefully Sophie has been rumbled.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 11/04/2023 00:29

Oh I just thought it was a glitch with my TV / Wi-Fi - apparently not!

Sophie should go. I really hope she does. It's one thing Rossi / Moses being instrumental in losing the money when they were in a high stress situation - however her tactics, thinking she is superior and more intelligent than everyone else and her underhanded way of going about things to ensure she is safe is awful.

She is now showing her true colours. Not exactly shining herself in the best light as far as trustworthiness goes if she decides to go into politics. She is manipulative, arrogant and needs to go. That would please me.

marshmallowsforbreakfast · 11/04/2023 06:25

Pleased it wasn't just my tv! I hope Moses voted Sophie, she hasn't come across well at all and isn't as clever as she thinks she is.

Im wondering if there will be a twist at the end, will they be offered to split the mines at the end with a grafter or something?

saddilema · 11/04/2023 08:54

I still think it might be one if the GRAFTERS that wins. The voice over keeps reminding us that the Rulers are in charge of building and looking after the prize pot but not heard it explicitly stated that one if the Rulers will win it - we maybe are expected to just assume that!
That would be a good twist.

I think it's interesting as there's still a rise vote to come and if it's based on 'deserving' to go up, then you have to ask who that would be.

It's hard to argue against Matt. And beyond that I struggle to justify the others.

I believe it's been said that the rulers will vote for the winner amongst themselves after the final rise vote. However I just can't see the grafters just being eliminated after the final rise vote. It reduces the TV drama available.

My suspicion is there will be a twist and the grafters will get a final vote - possibly as individuals or possibly as a collective with a single vote. Especially if there is a tie breaker situation which I think highly possible.

I am trying to work out if there is another fall vote to come before the end too - I think so. That also makes me wonder who will go. Rossi and Eddie look vulnerable but it does depend on who goes up (and how many - I think two will rise).

I would like Eddie or Matt to win, but that doesn't look likely. But this is reality TV and they want the audience to have the drama even if they don't ultimately get their winner. So I do think a twist or two is inevitable yet ...
