The producers egg people on to big themselves up, and edit to create a narrative; I would be reluctant to condemn any of them based on the sound bites. You can see it in all these shows when a contestant says something like “shabby chic is my forte” and then crashes out disastrously on a shabby chic brief.

Just think how many hours of footage never make it to the final edit, no doubt because it makes them seem too normal and rational me courteous to one another.

I prefer to judge on the rooms and take the chat with a pinch of salt. Alan is laugh out loud funny though and seems to be having a great time.

@NeverApologiseNeverExplain there’s a world of difference between declaring yourself the ‘King of Bling’ in ‘Bling week’ and actively slagging off another contestant’s/group’s work. Whilst everyone accepts that the show is edited to be made more exciting, it’s not Love Island. I’m pretty sure that the producers aren’t actively setting up conflict on an interior design show and forcing Tom to express his opinion in quite the manner he does. The show doesn’t need a ‘Nasty Nick’ to be entertaining. Generally there is a good sense of camaraderie between the contestants. Can you imagine if Bake off had the contestants slagging off each other’s cakes? It’s not why people tune in. I watch it mainly for the ideas and the process. You can be confident in your own work without resorting to being unkind about someone else’s.

Agree Alan is great on it tho.

I agree @Netaporter I don't watch these programmes for the bitchiness. I love Pottery Throwdown and Sewing Bee because the contestants on there and the judges make the show fun and seeing them help each other out is a feel good watch.

Well that was a surprise. Think the young man with Monica has scraped through so many weeks and has done again..

I don’t think Ry’s was the worst . I hated those supposedly wonderful transforming shelves/tables that Monika did. Bare horrid wood. Can feel the splinters from here!

I thought Peter should have gone. Who wants to sit on those seats?

How is Monica still there? Poor designs, poor time management, poor material choices and she doesn’t seem to be very good at managing people either.

The sheepskin shop was lovely, lots of lovely things beautifully displayed.

The shoe shop just didn’t work. But I liked the kissing sofa.

Just caught up as I forgot it was on. Loved the sheepskin shop but Tom and Temi are mighty annoying.

Reluctantly, I think Ry did screw up with the indifferent display of the shoes… such a pity, as I have liked his designs more. Jack did a great job with his bit, as expected.

Totally loved that dark floor in the clothes/lifestyle shop but if Monica is to stay in, she has to stop doing everything by the seat of her pants. Nice colours oVerall, though. I don't like all that plywood, but it seems to be quite popular at the moment. Those drop down tables didn’t look very steady to me, as well as not attractive..
Odd choices from the guy who likes white. I find most of those “art pieces” very tacky and annoying, not at all ”fun”. I thought the knitted lumps were like bright deposits of sick on an otherwise unremarkable yet out of place Perspex chair. The saddle was a bit odd, too.

The sheepskin shop was utterly fabulous.
