Those on about Paul having Botox, it takes two weeks to kick in and maybe her mate always has eyelash extensions, some people do, me included, I’ll remember to book in to have them removed asap should my friend ever go missing!

I think he’s genuine he seems a broken man who’s clinging on to any hope for his girls that she’s still alive. Their world has been torn apart and he can’t even answer why, it’s unimaginable.

OneFrenchEgg · 11/02/2023 21:19

prinny I think I started the references to eyelashes and Botox, as an example of weird discussion online about the case, not because me or anyone on MN has talked about it or criticised them.

Isbemorelikemeandbelesslikeyou · 11/02/2023 23:25

Does anyone find it quite weird that he got worried about her quite soon and called lots etc? My Dh wouldn’t think much of it if I was back later from a dog walk. He’d think I could’ve nipped to the shops, seen a friend etc, maybe that’s just us!

Isbemorelikemeandbelesslikeyou · 11/02/2023 23:26

I’m not saying anything bad here btw! It just seems like over worrying, obviously different when contacted by the school

Yes I don't suspect the partner at all but I did find it surprising that he was panicking when she was 15/20 minutes later than usual. My DH wouldn't bat an eyelid over 15 mins and vice versa. I often go out walking - I could be 30 mins or 2 hours.

I think he said called, then whatsapp called then called again, I don't think that's lots of calls, what you or I would do is irrelevant, it's what he did and for his own reasons he thought that appropriate. Everyone's life is different, that's just the way it is.

Crumpetdisappointment · 12/02/2023 09:41

well if she was usually back at a certain time, without fail, then yes, natural to call.

QueefQueen80s · 12/02/2023 16:12

I was also surprised by how quickly he panicked.

Crumpetdisappointment · 12/02/2023 16:18

he cant have panicked or he wouldnt have stopped to put his gym things on, ready for his lunch time gym

He might have been in his PJs. Did he say he had called her, got dressed ready to go before call came in from school?

Plitvice · 12/02/2023 16:42

Tbf, they lived in a sleepy place where nothing bad was likely to ever happen. He said that things were so predictable that they could spot outsiders during a typical dog walk. He must have thought that it would still all be okay.

Sporty2022 · 12/02/2023 16:58

Feels too soon for a tv program on this. Sorry, don’t think it’s quite appropriate seeing as this is a live investigation.

That's for her partner to decide surely?
It's him who wanted to do it so he could appeal for any information.

Plitvice · 12/02/2023 18:07

You have to be realistic. If it was a tiny place with a static population during the Winter then Crimewatch-style reconstructions are not going to jog the memories of many people. That is why they should pay more attention to what Paul said about doing local door to door searches.
From the other angle, if your SM settings are public then you are widening the amount of attention you receive, often considerably so somebody could have stalked her online and travelled into the area. It is so important to review privacy settings regularly on Facebook and similar apps.

I don't think it's panicking. I finish work at 5, am home by 5.40 every day. If I wasn't, I think I'd expect DH to give it 15 before 'worrying' or calling me. If no answer, then yes I might expect he would go walk the route I take.

Similarly, if I decide to pop to the shops on the way back I will text and say off to X, be a bit later than normal, do you need anything? and vice versa.

Sometimes you get a gut feeling as well, that all is not well, sadly.

It all depends on their habits and what is normal for them.

We said exactly the same. He was very exact with what time she was meant to come home.

Haven’t RTFT but this is from Guardian report on todays press conference.
Might explain PA’s early anxiety?

From the start of the investigation, Bulley was graded as a “high-risk” missing person owing to information provided by her family that police asked the media and the public not to speculate on to protect them.
Smith refused to give more details of Bulley’s “individual vulnerabilities”, adding: “I’ve asked you to respect the family, who are going through unimaginable pain and distress at this moment.
“But those vulnerabilities based our decision-making in terms of grading Nicola as high-risk and have continued to form part of my investigation throughout.”

People are saying issues with alcohol in January and people were called to the house, is this true and why are they releasing this?
