IMHO, whilst the DDs did seem to be relishing in the drama, I don't think it's unusual. They're kids who don't fully get the gravity of what's happening and just see the excitement and drama. I also think that's very true to life with how kids are - love all these little real life moments!

I've just rewatched episode 1 of this series again - the birthday scene for Ryan and the scene with Catherine and Claire talking about her retirement show clearly that they're a loving family & Ryan will have felt that love.

I have faith he'll come good and be firmly on Catherine's side.

The hurt & betrayal she feels is palpable - it's heartbreaking.

Aye, they need to take some serious lessons from our Richard ‘Super Sleuth’ Cawood…

I mean, fab though these MN threads have been, the theories on who might die and why are hardly unique to here. These ideas have come up in other forums, social media, real-life chats… there are only so many options, really! And the author of that piece has been doing the weekly episode recaps that @Blondeshavemorefun usually links to, so he's obviously a fan of the show and not just hanging around here to see what we're saying.

I’ve been diligently rewatching this series too - so good! I think even better with hindsight of knowing how the next few episodes pan out.
Really heartbreaking as you can see exactly the moment when Catherine mentally says “F*ck it” and steels herself against everyone and everything (after the cafe scene with Clare, where she ‘sees’ Becky and then sobs over the enormity of the betrayal). She then gathers herself, and marches off with that steely Catherine stare.
That’s the point when she knows she can trust no one, and it’s her against the world.
I love the Ryan and Granny scenes. Every time I rewatch these episodes, there’s more to take in.
Amazing. Genius writing.

The papers do lift stuff from MN though on AIBU mainly and some stuff read as directly lifted. I'm not aware of other forums discussing HV so my comment was only based on the G.
