I think we deserve a happy ending.. something like Ryan tricks TLR into revealing his location. He tells Claire who takes him to the police station. Ryan, Catherine and Claire stay safely at the police station while the police go and get TLR. Suppose for a bit of jeopardy we could have TLR turn up at Nev's house and give Neil a kicking before Anne comes in and kills him off for good. Catherine, Ryan and Claire, then all profess their love and go off on hols in the Land Rover 🙏🙏🙏

I'll actually feel very sad if TLR dies. He looks too lovely and Grantchester took away his evilness for me maybe watching 1-3 in quick succession will alleviate that mindset.

But who's Ted?

I think it had always been a plan but those were the latest details. Although obvs it's never going to happen.

He's a character from Line Of Duty @CuriousMama Also known by some of us as Noble Ted on account of his loveliness and general nobility.

Famous for, amongs other things, his colourful catchphrases such as "Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey!"

Yes, made me feel that SW is so clever at making these associations with Police and violence & rape, like the horrific cases we have heard about since Wayne Couzens & Co. There is so, so much to upack in every single character. I feel Alison will play a central role and that Ryan will try to kill TLR but SC will step in at last moment to do the deed, saving Ryan from jail and being surrounded by TLR types.

Worst thing about Line of Duty is British colleagues shouting Ted's catchphrases at you.

(And they're not even Ted's, they're just standard Irish phrases)

Theory I've read elsewhere and don't know if it's been suggested all ready....

Our Ryan kills TLR but Catherine takes the rap. Her counting down her retirement so precisely and if I recall referring to it as 'freedom' is relevant. The minute she's no longer a cop she's on the other side and sacrificing her own well being for Our Ryan to go live his life free from the shackles of TLR as he's a dead un.

That's similar to what Alison did, though, she sacrificed herself for her son. I don't think they'll do that again.
