@AntonDuPig great minds. Literally did same post 😂

< High 5s @Blondeshavemorefun ! >

I was mulling it over and counting down…

Glad you’ve verified it for me😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/01/2023 23:09

So where is Timmy gonna cycle to

Ohyoudodoyou · 22/01/2023 23:09

Actually...Sarah Bloody Lancashire for Bond!!!
I did enjoy TLR getting his head shaved to 'in the pines' - bit reminiscent of 'Cape Fear' with De Niro.

Timmy 😂 That actually suits his cycle look though.

In the pines? It was nirvana wasn't it? Maybe I am watching a different prog lol

PriamFarrl · 22/01/2023 23:12

I loved it. Yes you have to suspend disbelief a bit but I forgive it.

Obviously James Norton was at Ampleforth 20+ years ago, so fees would have been less but the fees are currently just shy of £40k per annum for a boarder. Which answers any questions about his social class.

I still wouldn't kick him out of bed, though.

Apparently he was badly bullied there and was really geeky. He’s had therapy to process it. An interview ai read is coming from somewhere in the back of my mind.

Whitwhit · 22/01/2023 23:13

Was anyone else irritated by Clare? Dumbly sitting there, letting Neil do all the talking, and then being all ‘see how you feel’ with Ryan. Rather than ‘no, you can’t see that Wankertron (quote of the series) again.
🙄🙄

Yes, did she say "dwell on it"? I though she was off in that scene.

you're right as well as the original version is 'in the Pines' an old murder ballad- I have all the versions! This was Nirvana's version.

Thank god, I'm not going mad Grin

I think Faisal deliberately set up that crash, and engineered it so his daughter would film it, so he could show the police the footage and say Hepworth came across as being agitated about something more than just the crash (he even threw that line in - is there something else bothering you?). He of course will deliberately look really calm - so making Hepworth be the only one looking guilty of having just committed a murder.

Claire is the only one who has loved Ryan unconditionally throughout the whole series. She’s not making demands of him, she’s trying to do right by him as well as balance what Catherine wants. Ryan still knows hardly anything about what happened - of course he needs time to think everything through and Claire is the only one willing to give him that.

AuroraCake · 22/01/2023 23:20

why is Richard back living with her?

duc748 · 22/01/2023 23:22

TLR 's escape was a low percentage play at best, hardly anything he'd be banking on. The OCG should have done a lot better there. But Faisal's transformation from hen-pecked loser to master criminal seemed a big stretch.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 22/01/2023 23:23

I did laugh at the scene where Catherine was casually explaining to Richard that Alison had been in prison for shooting her son through the head.

Completely agree the crash was a set up. Faisal was being weird asking if anything was upsetting Rob, making out he was agitated because he'd just killed his wife. He will so be a witness when Rob is arrested.

HannaHat · 22/01/2023 23:26

Richard must be thick as pig shit and the worst journalist in Britain. Doesn't recognise the local woman who blasted her son with a shotgun (who was on the way to being a serial killer) and doesn't recognise his 6ft grandson in the courtroom.

He is unlikely to remember her. And he was focussed on the court. He didn’t look around him.

I'd not thought of that - good shout! It would explain why he was so calm and asked the question about anything else bothering him as that was an odd thing to say.

spiderlight · 22/01/2023 23:30

@PPl242 yes, I spotted that. Was it the phone that was shown ringing in a corner, maybe? She definitely saw something.

Wouldn't Ryan's school have rung when he didn't show up? I know ours would. And why didn't Catherine ring them as soon as there was a glimmer of doubt in her mind about him going to Leeds.

I wonder whether Ryan will go to try and meet TLR at a bungee jumping place. That would make for a good finale.

HannaHat · 22/01/2023 23:30

Alison has moved back to the (small town) area where she killed him. No way would locals not know her, especially a journalist 🤷🏼‍♀️

Rightsraptor · 22/01/2023 23:30

Well Richard was one of the ones his newspaper 'let go' so maybe you're right @HannaHat and he is a crap journalist.

Oh poor James N being bullied. It must be especially awful at boarding school where you can't escape.

duc748 · 22/01/2023 23:31

I don't see why Catherine wasn't a bit more hands-on in making sure Ryan didn't go to court. Of course, if she watched a bit more TV drama, she'd have realised a lot sooner that an escape bid was on the cards.

You make good points. Maybe the Pulitzer for investigative journalism will remain out of grasp.
