I think it will be the visiting inspector. Having an imported white man always in charge isn’t a great look. Time for a change I think.

The others have all been a bit clumsy/ditsy gentle type characters but she was much harsher in her approach.

Might be nice to have a change though?

I'm not sure I want Death in Paradise to become anything more than a gentle murder mystery type programme though. It's not graphic, it's not loud and shouty, it's not harsh officers making hasty decisions, etc. it's gentle, warm and makes you want to visit the Caribbean. There's tons of 'proper' police type programmes but I like the gentleness of this one.

I thought the UK. I think she will come in all stiff and bristly, then the island will works it magic and she will mellow. Like Richard Poole, grumpy and not fully happy to be there at first.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it ends after this series especially with the spin off starting. It’s not been great lately so maybe had it’s day.

Maybe the idea of Beyond Paradise is potentially catch up with other characters who have moved on over the years.

I'll be genuinely sad if Ralf Little leaves. Once they got rid of his ridiculous allergies, he's been my favourite. It's never been gritty demanding viewing so I hope, if it continues, that it doesn't change too much.

As for Beyond Paradise, I couldn't stand Kris Marshall so won't be tuning in,

I think Kris Marshall left when his children got to school age. I don't think Ralf has my children (having googled!) so I guess there's less impetus for him to leave.

According to this article, Ralf lives in Kings Cross when not in St Honore.

Another article says he’s now the longest serving DI. Never realised that.

According to Imdb RL has done 31 episodes & KM did 30.

He does still seem "new" though!

Ben Miller did the least episodes.

Shame he died I would have watched him in BP!

Richard Poole was my favourite DI. Wish they hadn't killed him off - I started watching DIP when it was Humphrey, Florence, Dwayne and JP. So, when we went back to the beginning we assumed Richard ran off into the sunset with Camille. They were the only ones who had chemistry - Humphrey and Camille didn't have chemistry, Jack and Anna didn't have chemistry, nor did Neville and Florence or Neville and Sophie.

A spin off with Richard and Camille getting to grips with policing in a sleepy but surprisingly murderous English village would have been right up my street.

Ralf Little was a character (Will Teague) in a 2013 episode, which adds to his IMDB episode count and duration but not his tenure as Neville Parker.
Ralf Little has been in Death in Paradise 2013-2023 for 31 episodes including tomorrow's.
As Neville Parker he's only on 2020-2023 and 30 episodes.

The article up I read classed DI Neville as the longest as he’s had four series and two:specials.
