Can't even remember the outcome of the ep that Robert Webb was in!

It was the episode with the preppers and I think his wife was who dunnit. He was seen at the end looking sinister, drinking some spirit out of the bottle in a car I think.

Sophie is awful. I hate the way they keep shoe horning unbelievable romances in to this. Agree at the end of each of the last few episodes there's been one person behaving oddly but I can't remember who they are. Marlon having to apologise for failing his exam is silly. He failed his exam. That was his punishment. Being ambitious and trying shouldn't be punished. Silly assuming Neville did it and locking him up

Would Marlon even have been allowed to take his exam just because he wanted to?

Also Neville has more idea of how he works day to day so wouldn't he have been asked about it?

Or was he & I've forgotten?

I don't really like the Marlon character & found myself nodding along when Selwyn was saying that three years in he's not changed much in the three years.

Love Darlene though!

I can't stand Darlene and she undermines Marlon when she has been in the role less time

I thought Selwyn was horrible to Marlon

He needs to take early retirement as far as I am concerned, very discouraging and he didn't deserve a glass of rum

I think Marlon has grown up a lot since he started. He's far from perfect (very far!) but a great improvement from the immature troublemaker he was. Particularly this series when he's had some good policing breakthroughs/ideas.

Darlene is in a difficult position really. She has way more life experience and is far more mature than Marlon but he has been an officer for longer. Together they should be great if they used each others strengths.

I think Neville's arrest is fake and they're trying to trick Sophie and whoever she's in cahoots with

Darlene worked as a foil for Dwayne when she was sexy and sensible and not taken in by his "charm". I don't feel that translates to her new role.
I've got a "recover from Saturday" Sunday sort of day - and have just rewatched some of season 1. In Ep 2 - there were seven suspects. There were shots on the beach and in the street, in the pool and in the bar- felt like I was on holiday. The dialogue - esp between Camille and Richard was sharp and clever. The affection between roguish Dwayne and straight Fidel and the little moments of comedy were great. Oh well..... I'm still optimistic that this will improve. (And am curious about the loose threads too...)

I used to enjoy spotting the actors who had flown out for a holiday/part but they seem to have disappeared other than Robert Webb and it really isn’t as good. Hoping the spin off is better.

This series does feel a bit weaker than usual. Three suspects make it very quick to rule some of them out too.

I was surprised Neville didn't realise he didn't have his phone for hours. You'd think he'd be quite security conscious about it!

Is it the last one of the series tonight?

Will Robert Webb character reappear?

Will mate Andy turn up. I seem to recall he set off about three or four weeks ago, and he still hasn’t arrived in the island.

Will Sophie turn out to be a goodie or baddie?

Will Neville be released from prison, or will the story continue to the next series/ Christmas special? And if so, will that be the last Death in Paradise (hopefully not) as we have the new British spinoff.
