Will we learn more about Andy, Sophie and the Robert Webb character?Also Selwy’s daughter?

Just watched the latest episode - dreadful. I loved this programme for the music, the puzzle, the humour. There was no decent music, no real puzzle (obvious who did it fairly early on - although not why. But even when we knew why it wasn't very believable).
It's not the place for drawn out angst about long lost daughters - and that was all tedious. No humour - except possibly the little exam scene with Mr Ribbit Marlon's lucky frog. There was no "heart-warming" bit either - usually there is. It's a formula but I watch this for a bit of light relief and charm - and it's been replaced by clunky acting and dull storylines.

It felt like a rehash of an episode 2 weeks ago

Yes no music and miserable humourless Selwyn

Selwyn was infuriating this episode. Happy to talk about himself but as soon as his daughter starts talking he zones out and gets annoyed that she picks up on it. It was really out of character for him, as was the weird emotional outburst with the photos.

Yes I agree - it did.
I find - with distraction of family life etc - that I can watch happy light things on iPlayer while doing something else - but they have to make me feel good - and this used to - and now doesn't.

I skipped the bit about Selwyn and his daughter - just forwarded it. It was out of character, ( and it doesn't help that I love Selwyn and cannot stand that actor who plays the daughter. She was in Casualty - and had exactly the same dull slightly resentful delivery.

Selwyn, with his wit and charm and good sense and "position" and proper responsibility - (but good heart) - was my favourite character.

Marlon's tiger face paint looked pretty good, I thought ☺️.

Christ, that's an hour of my life I'll never get back.

I haven't watched it forr years and fancied looking at the scenery and sunshine but it was just so, so bad. Stilted dialogue and that bloke out of The Royle Family was just awful, pulling 'perplexed' faces

The spin off was filmed in Looe and the surrounding countryside this summer. Kris Marshall used to have a house in Polperro so it must have been nice for him.

He had it thrust upon him that he's a dad and she's in her 20/30's

I think it was 2 episodes ago about a con artist selling a beach, they talked to a quiz friend back in the UK, and he was seen arriving at the airport in St Marie.

But the trailer which I normally avoid for next weeks episode looks like something is going to happen /reveal

Yes, it is sad and unfair that he has missed out on so much time with her. We have seen over the years that he has encouraged and supported JP, Marlon, Darlene etc yet he hasn't been allowed to see his own daughter.
