It was both day and night at the hospital at one point Confused

I quite liked last night storyline, despite the anomalies. I presumed he’d take the cyanide poison in with him by accident.

Loving Marlon this series. I think the chemistry isn’t quite right between Naomi looks the same age as Marlon, and Darlene is older, but she’s the junior. In the normal order of things, the older person holds a higher rank. I quite liked her when she was a nurse-‘detective’ last series. Maybe they should have kept her a civilian, helping out with cases, but not based as the police station. Ie. A person on the ground.

Riverlee · 14/01/2023 08:07

i Thought when the girlfriend arrived, she said she was going to be there for several weeks. Obviously, Ralf went home at Christmas to see baby Arthur so that lost a week. However, on return, she only had a week left.

when they mentioned the jet ski accident, I presumed that’s how the romance was going to continue. Ie. A broken leg so she was stuck on the island. They did make a good couple.

I was willing him to say ‘stay’ when she got on the boat.

Maybe overthinking this a little…

SoupDragon · 14/01/2023 09:32

I think the three officers are bedding down well actually. Naomi is Marlon's sensible older sister. I like that Darlene, as oldest, is actually most junior too. I like that there's a slight tension where she thinks her life experience makes her better that the younger ones (and sometimes she's right). It's a different relationship to the standard set up of previous officers.

SoupDragon · 14/01/2023 09:33

I think Sophie will be back.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2023 21:29

@InMySpareTime I said the same to dh. Just watched it tonight

it’s always 4

but I guessed it right. Well was 33% of getting it right

that’s 2/2 right. Very unlike me

and yes Sophie will be back

Camille can never be bettered. But I prefer Naomi to Florence who became very wet. I actually think this team is better than many since the original series. I find Darlene fascinating.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/01/2023 20:07

E3 tomorrow

the team investigate the murder of an estate agent during the private sale of a beach

I've felt it's lost its way a bit. I like 4 or 5 suspects, (sometimes there's a random character, maybe a hotel receptionist or a secretary of a business person to add to the mix). Three is too few.
Loved Camille, Richard, Fidel and Duane. This team doesn't have the chemistry or the humour. I like Marlon and Ralph Little is quite good - (but hate Sophie).
We shall see.....

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2023 09:52

@NearlyMidnight agree we need more suspects

So who did it and how?

In an earlier series, someone hid on the boat And killed the victim.

Lunde · 20/01/2023 21:26

Glad I've found this thread

I like Neville and Marlon is growing on me but the Chemistry is off with Naomi and Darlene - I think the Naomi character needs to be stronger as the sergeant -- her character gets lost in the mix in a way that didn't happen with Camille or Florence

Also - does the stylist this series hate Naomi?

  • Camille got pedal-pushers, Converse and cute shirts
  • Florence got shorts and cute little dresses
  • Naomi gets Tellytubby clothes in horrid primary and clashing colours - so far Dipsy and a Lala-Po combo this episode
Riverlee · 20/01/2023 21:45

@lunde You’re spot on with Naomi.

Funnily enough, I was thinking the same tonight that her clothing style wasn’t so glamouress.

I also agree that she doesn’t have the authority that Camille and Florence had. She looks too young, and last week, when she shouted ‘Stop!Police’ at the woman who accidentally shot the young female, it just didn’t sound convincing. I actually think she looked scared. She and Marlon look the same age, rather than senior and junior.

Riverlee · 20/01/2023 21:47

Also, why does Darlene always wear a skirt. Surely, trousers would be more suitable in modern policing.

Riverlee · 20/01/2023 22:00

Fun fact - today they went to. Agatha’s cove.

Honore, the main town, is taken from St Honore which featured in The Caribbean Mystery by a Agatha Christie!

Glitterblue · 20/01/2023 22:04

I wonder what this Andy dude is up to 🤔

Riverlee · 20/01/2023 22:10

Is he following up theRobert Webb character?

Andy dude did seem affable one minute, and then acted strangely. Initially I thought he was going to be portrayed as a burnt out copper, invited by Neville to come out for a holiday, and then be the next inspector (I should become a script writer!).

Exactly what my dd thought! Like when Jack replaced Humphrey.

We're now wondering if Sophie might turn out to be a bit dodgy.

She dresses like Aggies daughter in Corrie and seems to be squeezed into her clothes

Riverlee · 20/01/2023 22:32

@Romeiswheretheheartis Good call re Sophie.

SoupDragon · 20/01/2023 22:37

I came here to see if anyone else thought Sophie might turn out to be dodgy.

I thought it came across that Andy and Neville hadn't spoken for a while though so how would he knew about her?

BrownDaisy · 21/01/2023 08:11

Did anyone guess the killer last night?
I suspect not which kind of spoils it for me.

kazzaD66 · 21/01/2023 09:19

If the bloke hadn't gone to buy cigarettes, the police would never have spoken to the killer. They only went to check out the bloke's alibi. Plus, they got the illegal trading stuff aswell. Good job he smoked!

Romeiswheretheheartis · 21/01/2023 09:19

No, they didn't even mention that he was in that photo with the victim until the reveal, so we weren't given a hint that he could be a suspect, which I agree does spoil it a bit.

Same as ruby always wore a tight skirt and trainers
