Anyone watching? Dr smug unfortunately appears fully recovered from the train crash.

Did Nancy decide whether to stay or go? Not sure if I missed it.

PinkFrogss · 26/02/2023 21:06

For anyone interested I’ve figured it out, he was the one grooming Bethany on Coronation Street

I'm still catching up, but do you think Colette might have Leukaemia or something similar? So much was made of her nosebleeds tonight

No, there's already been two Leukaemia story lines.

One of the worst episodes in a long time

Trixie being deeply superficial about the tiara
When everyone else was having face packs, she sat there in really heavy make up.

St Matthew the Wooden saving the poor little women once again

why do TV weddings always have to feature near disasters? So predictable.

loved SMJs reading.

RosaMoline · 26/02/2023 21:18

I was hoping Lucille would show up!

Mammyloveswine · 26/02/2023 21:19

God that was bit traumatic that car crash! It sounded like a bump and she sad dead straightaway! Jesus!

Of course Dr Turner swooped in and did a c-section on the roadside..poor woman with a coat over her face.

Did anything else come of Nancy's debts?! That seemed to just fizzle out..

Aldo where was Mathews mam at the wedding? And who was watching the toddler?

LIZS · 26/02/2023 21:22

Was the toddler the best man? Why did Cyril, Fred, Reggie, Dr T and Timmy all hire suits?

I was very worried. Nose bleeds in TV drama always = leukaemia. Quite glad they also survived at the end. Apart from RTA woman and that was frankly ridiculous. I've seen more realism in Carry On Films.

Do you think they intended for SMJ to be deaded only to let her live on Bev there are two more series commissioned now?

HappyHolidai · 26/02/2023 21:24

So sad that Lucille didn't come back. Poor, poor Cyril!

I'm completely with Sr MJ on Corinthians 13!

Same. I was in a church choir as a teen, did a wedding most weekends. Sometimes 2. Had to listen to it so many times it drove me mad with its unoriginality. We used to take bets on what the reading and hymns would be. We usually got it pretty spot on. I notice Trixie had Jerusalem which was usually top of our list. Snore.

I would also advise people who think that Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring is a good choice for an anthem while signing the register to read the actual words before choosing it for its jaunty tune.

PaperwhiteTheGhost · 26/02/2023 21:33

Pebble21uk · 26/02/2023 20:11

Who knew Trixie had not one but two brothers! Have we ever heard of them before?

No! I thought a massive part of Trixie's backstory was that she had no family aside from her rich godmother in Porto Fino

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2023 21:34

@PaperwhiteTheGhost ditto. I was in the church choir as well, and it's where I got my dislike from. As an Altar Server I hare the wedding at Cana for a wedding reading. It's not about the wedding!

@PaperwhiteTheGhost I heard of people wanting Pie Jesu for a wedding. 🤣 just no!

A ridiculous finale.

I'm annoyed I wasted an hour watching it. The season started with such promise too. Why do they always do crazy stuff on finale episodes?

Trixie has a rich godmother? You'd have thought she'd have mentioned it, I had no idea!

Matthew’s mum was holding the toddler (Jonty?) after the wedding, she was there!

Undulat · 26/02/2023 21:39

I'm so glad I am not the only one who thinks that reading is boring and unoriginal.
This episode wasn't great but I was very moved by the dead woman's c-section. Poor baby, poor dad, poor grandmothers. It's heartbreaking.

Loved seeing everyone dressed up 60s style. I wish I could get myself a dress like Shelagh. Do they still sell those?

Mammyloveswine · 26/02/2023 21:40

@InglouriousBasterd I never noticed her!

Oh my god yes, also on my list!! Also see the "Do not stand at my grave and weep" poem at funerals.

Stop it.

I know people exaggerate this on MN but I totally genuinely just laughed out loud at this and coughed wine out of my nose

AIBUYesMaybe · 26/02/2023 21:44

They crammed far too many dramas into the final episode.
Trixie and her bloody tiara- she came over as a shallow, spoilt brat.

It was as if they thought 'How many disasters can we cram into an hour?'

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2023 21:45

You can spot non church guests by the hymns that are chosen. For weddings it's Love Divine
Jerusalem
I vow to the my country.

Funerals
Crimond
Abide with me
I watch the sunrise
Eagles wings.

You forgot Amazing Grace for both plus The Day Thou Gavest for funerals. Zzzzz

Watching now….

Ive been watching the old seasons on Netflix…just finished the one with the twins married to the one husband Maevis and Meg.

The never series never held up to the earlier ones, but it does seem to be going down hill rapidly
