Hopefully Raahh can post on this one.

Nearly time for the Christmas cliffhanger!

OP posts:

cyclamen I can't take to Kirsty - she has not been a popular addition, reading a few things on the internet. Maybe she will get better. She might have been better keeping her own accent instead of trying to use a Brummie one.

We've visited the Lickey Hills, where Rob and Karen are walking. My youngest had a pink elephant glove puppet and she was named Mr Lickey by him, so in honour of her name we visited the hills when in the area (Stratford upon Avon for Shakespeare stuff and Cadbury
World nearby in Bournville.

Aww- that's lovely. Grin

Raahh · 30/01/2023 14:09

poor Poppy- what will happen to her now? Sad

Raahh · 30/01/2023 14:10

Not sure where Scarlett will go- but she will still be better off trying to go it alone than having to worry about her dad as well.

KilledByWitches · 30/01/2023 14:11

Father of the year is buggering off then.

Has Scarletts Mum ever been mentioned?

Raahh · 30/01/2023 14:11

How many jobs?? About 2!

Raahh · 30/01/2023 14:12

Killed I think she left them. She was mentioned very early on. It's why Brian is a bit of a drip, all heartbroken that she left him. I don't think she's dead, just gone.

Ah, that door is open for her to come back at some point then.
Love that Brian is framing his buggering off and leaving the poor kid homeless as doing her a favour though. She's absolutely moving in with Emma isn't she?

Raahh · 30/01/2023 14:17

Killed he really is father of the year-

'yes, love, I've sponged off you for 6 months, we've been starving and frozen- now I'm buggering off and leaving you homeless- but hey- you get to live the high life of a 21 year old without old me cramping your style. I'll have more money though.

Oh and don't forget to pay that fine you owe! ta-ra!'

Hmm
LilyAndTheKing · 30/01/2023 14:33

Scarlett could move in with the Gobbys.
I've forgotten what the fine was for, could you please remind me?

Raahh · 30/01/2023 14:38

Lily It was when she went out for her friend's 21st - she was arrested wearing the friend's coat and they found drugs in the pocket. At least, I think that was what the fine was for.

Raahh · 30/01/2023 14:39

And yes, she can either move in with Gobby, or Emma (who seems to have given up on the Air BnB) and takes in everyone at some point.

mattyd · 30/01/2023 14:52

I thought Poppy was impressive, she nearly had me in tears.

martinisforeveryone · 30/01/2023 14:52

It's been a hard 24 hours emotionally what with Happy Valley and then all this today on Doctors.

The huge kitchens for everyone makes me laugh. We don't see so many ginormous taps these days though do we.

I can't get on board with Kirsty or her storyline at all and her accent grates terribly. She's been in the UK 20 years or something and lived in the Birmingham area for 11, so I'd have expected something a bit more convincing. It's not just that, she doesn't act, she just recites her lines. It's really off putting.

I'll be glad to see the back of Brian too, he hasn't brought anything to the programme either.

Agree. She was brilliant.
I lost my mum six years ago today so I did she’d a little tear when Poppy was on.

EspeciallyDetermined · 30/01/2023 18:40

That was lovely (Poppy and The Gobbies). Not so much Brian. Where did he say he was going? Hope its far away but its a shabby thing to do to Scarlett.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 30/01/2023 19:58

KilledByWitches I'm sorry for your loss, six years is a long time to be without your mum. I hope you've looked after yourself today Flowers Like others I enjoyed today's episode although at one point I was concerned Rob was going to be like he was in the run up to Christmas 21 when he was an absolute pig to Karen!

Raahh · 30/01/2023 20:05

Killed Flowers what a difficult day fro you. Look after yourself.

Poppy was great. It was a well done episode really- Rob was very emotional- it shows how far the Gobbys have come since their problems, and they really do love each other.

And Emma handled the situation with the new copper well too.

Brian can disappear. Between them, there are enough people at the Mill to help Scarlett- if she swallows her pride.

KilledByWitches · 30/01/2023 23:22

Thank you Both.
not a day goes by when I don’t miss her, but today is always a hard one.

Did someone say earlier on the thread Daniel is leaving?

Binglebong · 31/01/2023 13:46

Hello chucks.

Binglebong · 31/01/2023 13:47

Apparently so Killed. I hope they find a way for Zara to stay.

Raahh · 31/01/2023 13:47

Killed I don't know if Daniel is leaving, I did wonder if he might given the decision to give up the partnership -but Heston and Jimi both stopped being partners, and remained GPs, so he doesn't need to leave.

Wouldn't be fussd if he did leave, though. He annoys me a bit.

oof. Brian in a Dressing gown Of Doom.

Binglebong · 31/01/2023 13:49

Brian is still a wander I see. But the Gobbies are sweet.

Raahh · 31/01/2023 13:49

I do like the Gobbys, when they are allowed to be happy.

wondered what this bloke was up to. Is it Tai chi, or is he dancing ? Grin

KilledByWitches · 31/01/2023 13:52

I see Kirsty hasn't made the titles yet, I do hope this means she's not a permanent fixture. Her accent is driving me batty.

Whoever said Scarlett's wardrobe is Primark, I nearly bought the jumper she's wearing today the other week 😂
