Hopefully Raahh can post on this one.

Nearly time for the Christmas cliffhanger!

So he was .

This is a very topical episode.

StellaAndCrow · 18/01/2023 14:05

Yes, we never actually see Daniel and Zara doing all this non-stop work . . .

StellaAndCrow · 18/01/2023 14:06

How rude of new receptionist!

Raahh · 18/01/2023 14:07

All very busy then. Hope it's lunch.

StellaAndCrow · 18/01/2023 14:07

Hahaha they knew about the miner's strike because of the film Pride! Young people today etc etc :)

StellaAndCrow · 18/01/2023 14:09

Wow how lucky Larry Pugh was at his computer!

Raahh · 18/01/2023 14:09

Stella that was funny- not from school, or even history lessons (I suppose it counts as history Grin) From the film Grin

MadisonAvenue · 18/01/2023 14:09

Really don’t like Kirsty.

Did they have more trainers than students in that IT session?

Me and DH remember watching it on the news when the miner strikes were happening. 😂
Oh if only we were young enough to learn about it at school.

I was living in South Yorkshire, in a pit village at the time of the miners strikes. It was a dreadful time and I still feel deeply affected by it. And I'm not a miner.

LilyAndTheKing · 18/01/2023 21:05

Although most of the news reports focussed on Yorkshire, I don't remember any strikes in the Midlands.

EspeciallyDetermined · 18/01/2023 22:18

Well, I was giving Kirsty the benefit of the doubt but she really is horrible. Poor Scarlett.

I remember the miners strike well too. My dad is from a Yorkshire town where there was a pit, but none of his family were miners, and it wasn't the main industry there so the town was not impacted as much as some.

Who is going to take on the partnership? The
other GPs? Maybe they will get taken over by another practice.

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 18/01/2023 22:56

I knew Daniel was leaving and was kind of ok with that but really don't want Zara to leave

I also don't like Kirsty bossing Scarlett about

I am worried about the number of energy drinks she is drinking. I don't really know what side effects there are apart from fast heart rate from the caffeine but I am sure it won't end well

I think 6tl might take up a partnership but I think they are going to try to sell surgery

There were, we live in a coal mining area just north of Birmingham and the miners were on strike around here.
We now live on the site of one of the mines, my Grandad actually worked down this one. There are several memorials around the estate commemorating the pit and the miners, you can pay for a brick with a name on it, and someone lays a wreath every year on the date which it closed.

SUB I’m hoping Zara doesn’t leave too.
Maybe Daniel could have another of his workplace affairs and this time run off with Kirsty.

I said to my DH that I know it is a soap drama but I really don't want Zara to leave she is such a multi faceted character
When she went round to Gobby to visit I was surprised how they seemed to get on together after the shock of finding her on her doorstep.
It was like oh I actually quite like you were expressed by both of them - I don't remember extended scenes between them before, as a duologue without others there

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 19/01/2023 01:27

Would be good if Kirsty went off with Daniel but think she is in for an extended time.

It is her bossiness, bullying and general "know it all" nasty attitude I don't like

At least someone should tell her to stop bullying Scarlett

I think iirc she said she could do VPAS so that means less chance of Scarlett getting to do it in the future

Sidisawetlettuce · 19/01/2023 08:26

Just been catching up on iPlayer . Kirsty is one of the worst actresses I have ever seen; every line is delivered in the same expressionless way. I'd rather have Princes back.

EspeciallyDetermined · 19/01/2023 11:36

I am current;y listening to an audio book where the lead character is from Birmingham, the book is in the first person so largely spoken in their voice. The narrator is clearly not from Birmingham and sounds uncannily like Kirsty, so much so that I checked to see if it was the same actress (it's not). All I can say is that it's just as well it's a good book.

Raahh · 19/01/2023 12:02

Sid maybe that's the idea, we will dislike Kirsty so much, they will bring back Princess and we will be grateful. Grin

doctorsnoddy · 19/01/2023 13:08

Just catching up. I wonder how Daniel and Zara will fund their lifestyle if they cut back their commitments?

EspeciallyDetermined · 19/01/2023 13:36

I was thinking that @doctorsnoddy . Surely you would want to take a bit longer over such a massive decision, consider pensions, future job options etc. It must be hard to step down as a partner but stay in the same practice. And quite frankly their workload does not seem heavy. Pub lunches, time out for all sorts.

doctorsnoddy · 19/01/2023 13:47

I hate the way Scarlett sits with her knee against the desk

StellaAndCrow · 19/01/2023 13:51

What was that IBS appointment all about? I assumed it was something urgent!
