Hopefully Raahh can post on this one.

Nearly time for the Christmas cliffhanger!

Kitler Grin

I do love the angel/spaceman ornament- - it's the shape of the 'hair' around the face that looks like a helmet- and dd2 had just got her first pair of glasses, they were bright red, and she looked really cute.

I annoy her by singing 'Spaceman' by Babylon Zoo everytime I spot the decoration.

FuzzyPuffling · 06/01/2023 12:42

Raahh you can sing Sam Ryder's version for variety.

I usually like taking Christmas down for a fresh new start, but we're in a "new" house which needs a shed load of work so it just feels a bit damp and grey. I am furiously arranging tradespeople to fix stuff.

Raahh · 06/01/2023 13:04

Fuzzy I love Sam, and he is always so happy.

I'm not getting very far with taking things down- I need to get boxes out of the loft, but my dad has just been round and I keep getting distracted.

So I have piles of stuff all over- and the tree ver y firmly still up Grin

And Father Brown is on in a bit.

I might just give up and do it tomorrow. I'm not superstitious. Grin

FuzzyPuffling · 06/01/2023 13:32

Raahh your dad is more important than the Christmas tree. QED.

EspeciallyDetermined · 06/01/2023 13:48

Oh, just put the TV on and found it’s not on, I thought they had brought Fridays back again. How annoying.

I don’t like taking the Christmas decorations down. The house looks so cosy and colourful with them up and very bare for a week or so once they are gone. I have kept everything the DCs have ever made (they are older teens) and it all comes out every year. I was about to take the cards down yesterday when some more arrived so I was in a dilemma and left them all up (we have one of those wire holders so they don’t take up much space).

@IamupInSpaceMan I have seen that cat website. The relevant Father Ted episode is very funny too.

Raahh · 06/01/2023 13:54

Fuzzy My dad dad literally came in for about 30 seconds (to pick up a birthday present he was returning ) on his way to John Lewis. Grin. He has much more of a social life than I do. Grin Was nice to see him though- briefly Grin

Raahh · 06/01/2023 13:56

I'm not sure why Doctors is back to 4 days. It's very odd.

Oh yes the Father Ted with his gestures and the mark on the window.
But are the cows small or far away?? That was such a brilliant program 😂

MadisonAvenue · 06/01/2023 16:30

I missed yesterday’s episode so watched it today, I do hope it’ll come back to five days again though.

Raahh I hope the year isn’t as bad as
you’re expecting. Last year ended up being pretty awful here. Our oldest and his girlfriend of nearly six years moved in together in August and they’d split up by mid-September and he’s now back home again. Then my Mom died in November.

Father Ted is a huge favourite in our house, we’re often found quoting it 😂

I'm so sorry Madison Flowers

In a lot of ways, last year was nothing to what happened to us in previous years- but I. couldn't shake off low feelings, and a few things happened- and I just had no control of any of it.

I hope Doctors is back to 5 days soon, because I can't see why it is back to 4 if anything, with all the postponements for the Queen/politics and stuff- you'd think they would have episodes in hand? pluss they have lots of time off over the summer.

Lazy bunch Grin

Tree all packed away now-all set for it's 26th outing next time GrinDefinitely got my moneys worth from it. So many 'needles' fall off it each year, I marvel there is any of it left. It is a very typical 'British' scene- a box that has been patched up with rolls of brown tape/duct tape/christmas tape over the years and is falling to bits. But I refuse to just 'put it all in a black bag' at dh's suggestion. (philistine) and will persevere with patching up the boxes til it absolutely falls apart. Only one pine cone fell off this year . Grin

LilyAndTheKing · 07/01/2023 20:52

Madison that does sound like a tough time all round, I'm sorry 💐.

We like Father Ted as well.

LilyAndTheKing · 07/01/2023 20:53

Raahh our Christmas tree is from Woolworths, no idea how long we've had it but it's still in its original box all taped up with different types of tape like yours by the sound of it 😂

Raahh · 07/01/2023 21:03

Lily Ours was from Matalan (£50, says so on the box- was really expensive at the time). I got one, and so did my mum- we both moved house the same year. (1997?) About 10 years ago, the stand on mine completely snapped, and she wanted a new, smaller one (this one is 7ft) . So I have her old one- but in my original box- because- (sacrilege) she had thrown her box away and was using bin bags ShockGrin. Couldn't have that- so I got her old tree, but have it in my old box.

Xmas Grin
Raahh · 09/01/2023 12:36

Well, the mystery of the 4 day week continues- I had thought the new series of Father Brown would contunue today- but it seems it is continuing in the Friday 13.45 slot. Given the FB series are usually about 10 episodes long, that means Doctors could be on a 4 day weeks for the next couple of months at least. Unless things get tweaked before then.

And It's annoying I have to wait a week each time to watch FB!AngryGrin

Raahh · 09/01/2023 13:46

Afternoon- oh dear- Luca is still having flashbacks to the crash?

Raahh · 09/01/2023 13:48

So, Luca met up with Chris?

This 'can't lose my job even though I've done something dangerous /stupid' plotline is happeneing at least 2-3 times a week at the moment.

Raahh · 09/01/2023 13:51

Blimey! Has Luca been away that long? The Jasmine epsisde feels like ages ago.

Raahh · 09/01/2023 13:52

That smoothie looks vile.

MadisonAvenue · 09/01/2023 13:55

It’s Friday in Letherbridge then…

OP posts:
Raahh · 09/01/2023 13:56

Madison yes, I caught that Grin

All nicely out of sync .

Raahh · 09/01/2023 13:59

Oh dear Sad that was all quite dramamtic- might not help Luca's crash memories.

Raahh · 09/01/2023 14:00

Portuguese man had better not die- poor Lucac is having no luck since he has been back, it has all been drama. Sad

Sidisawetlettuce · 09/01/2023 15:34

Just catching up now and really fancy a scotch egg!

Raahh · 10/01/2023 13:47

I recognise Luca's patient .

Are they all still being horrible to Emma at the station then?

doctorsnoddy · 10/01/2023 13:48

Honestly how does that wee scratch warrant a home visit!
