I suspect I won't remember any of them by the next series

Rightful winner due to her flavours and that helix she did. But this was such a poor final. None of those looked like showstoppers and to be burning cake in the final is terrible!

What a dull series it's been. The format needs a serious overhaul.

Not sure I'll last for the next series?! Paul Hollywood is hard to watch without Mary Berry 😂

And the end bit about what all the bakers have been up to as well was very dull, hardly worth bothering with

Undeniably the worst series so far. The what they're up to now at the end felt half-hearted too.

Not as joyful as previous series that's for sure, needs a revamp.

I think the bakers are talented but never had enough time and always had to make things that stoop upright of were a sculpture of some sort. I’d have loved it if they had more time to make a beautiful cake.

Awful . No way were any of those bakes showstoppers.

We were saying that here: even the updates are boring this year.

I am so sick of watching people rush and ruin cakes in half the time they need.

I'd like to hear 'you have 8 hours to make a lovely cake'.

I noticed that the judges were in coats but the friends and family weren't. Some sort of cold front dissecting the lawn maybe?

Agree that this was the worst final; the technical was a disaster and the showstoppers were disappointing. Not sure Sybira was the best of all the contestants but best of the finalists.

Making ice cream in an oven
Hand raised pork pie from scratch in 20 minutes
Baking a Victoria sponge with a candle
A show stopper sculpture made of rice pudding. Ambrosia texture only.
A piñata made of water.
A no hands technical challenge. In the dark.
Making a nylon oven glove from a pair of tights and holding a hot tin for 2 minutes.

I didn't watch the final. Have watched for years.

Not exactly throwing my toys out of the pram but I am more and more forgetting why I watched in the first place.

Who could replace PH? Any other well known bakers?

I left for Masterchef this evening as this hasn't been a great series TBH. Thanks for the great company though so see you all on another thread somewhere.
